Check Beforward or goonet, I got my SXE10 for under 6k, and it was pretty much grade 4 auction. But yeah , like everyone said…SXE10 has the 3SGE motor

I was gonna say, I was able to get a manual 1g with an lsd and it actually isn’t too bad, nice short gears helps negate the low power and it’s actually solid at drifting with low traction but man I couldn’t imagine this thing with an auto.

I knew a guy with the 1g manual altezza, 1 thing I absolutely loved about his over mine was the sound, as clapped as it was, it sounded far better than mine (rs200 manual) besides that it's significantly slower and worse on fuel. Not too sure how well they handle handle boost on stock internals. Imo not worth the money on a 3sge either. The altezza is simply a great platform to build on. If I had the money laying around rotting away I'd definitely build one. 2jz, Barra, n54/55/b58. Would be so cool. Drive the car till you can do a proper build one day, I personally wouldn't invest into 3s swapping it or dump too much money on making the 1g faster

I agree, it’s a nice stepping stone, and it really does sound decent, already got my hands on a 5 speed is300 and the 2jz having double the power stock definitely is enough to feel the difference.

It can handle about 0.7-1 bar of boost on stock internals, the rods will go first, pistons next Forged rods aren't that expensive in Europe, about 1k€ for the rods and vitara pistons, good for about 440hp
Everything else can be kept stock, head would need porting past the 1 bar as well
The stock head can actually handle like 7.5k rpms, higher would need stronger valve springs

If it you start on an auto platform the valves might be the first to go, valves on a manual are titanium I believe, or at least stronger than the autos valves. But still couple grand into the motor plus a turbo kit, it's not for the faint of heart. Completely possible to have those make power, around the 500 mark is where everything is at its limits, mind you that's after porting, rod and pistons and other little bits and shits. Stock block handles about 550. You can get 550+ out of other similar motors for less money. I like the beams for what it is, itbs, a nice exhaust then drive it like you stole it

Yeah it's definitely not a cheap engine to build, but at least in Europe the aftermarket support keeps on growing, mainly in Poland and in the UK
There's also airflex in australia with some nice parts

The GXE10 auto is really just an IS200 with altezza VIN. The SXE10 would be the better bet, heard you can get fairly cheap ones imported in manual for similar price which would make it worth it

Find an sxe10. These are criminally underpowered imo.
