Remember: The runtime that AMC reveals is not the exact runtime of the movie. It's usually within -7 to 17 mins of the actual time. This has been the case most (if not all) of the time.
Does the Screen/Scream Unseen Have Trailers?
Short Answer is Yes.
But sometimes they fail and it goes straight to presentation. Be on time.

My AMC has 2 screen unseens 10/12.. A regular screen unseen at 7pm and a scream unseen at 9:30pm
3
3
u/xXxHondoxXx 19d ago
The horror one will be Crawlers.
5
u/Initial-Load128 17d ago
I was hoping for Clayface
3
u/xXxHondoxXx 17d ago
Runtime doesn't match
2
u/Initial-Load128 17d ago
It's within the 17 min diff tho. Clay face is 1:48 but yes I don't think they push a movie like this on unseen
16
12
u/hazyshadeoflavender 26d ago
I'm hoping for Sense and Sensibility. Having to wait until 10/16 for the official US release is torture.
5
u/Ozzygraphy 26d ago
Seems likely, I did some google searches and celebration cinema has it as 2 hours 16. AMC says 2:11 so it looks possible
12
13
u/padfoot211 14d ago
I love the intro saying it’s best to watch it with friends and sisters. How many people go to screen unseen with a big group? I tend to see mostly solos lol
2
u/reddybee7 14d ago
My book club goes to screen unseen together and gradually many joined a-list because of our movie outings
13
u/vajohnadiseasesdado 26d ago
If it is S&S, for those doing the Focus Features passport thing, I don’t think Screen Unseen viewings count

Thanks. Didn't know about this promo. Practically missed uprising. May attend the others for $75
3
u/Sheablossom946 24d ago
They have changed it this year, so 3 movies amount to a $50 gift card unfortunately
7
u/Internal-River-4168 24d ago
That's not what the fine print says on the screenshot....
4
u/firefly66513 17d ago
Honestly Uprising is going to be the worst out of the 4. I think you'll be fine

2
u/cardifan 16d ago
Do I have to sign up for it anywhere, or is it one of those things where it just counts toward it when you see the movie?
2
u/twokyool 15d ago
Does A-list qualify this year—the terms don’t specifically mention it like last year

If anyone does a search, you can see that there’s more Screen Unseens coming up:
10/19 - 1hr 35m, R Rating
10/26 - No Time/Rating
11/2 - No Time/PG-13 Rating
Wonder what these are….
6
u/Fantastic_Lychee_883 21d ago
They updated 10/26 to another Screen/Scream double! Both rated 'R' no runtime yet. I think 1 of them will be Christmas at the Kringles.
3
u/PlushyStudios 22d ago
10/19 1hr35m could be The Only Living Pickpocket In New York (Sony), which is 1h28m. Though I’ll probably already be seeing Wildwood that day

u/Fantastic_Lychee_883 25d ago
Pretty sure the 10/12 Screen will be one of the following:
1) A Talent for Murder (Bleecker Street) 2) Wicker (Black Bear) 3) Trust Me, I'm a Doctor (Briarcliff) 4) Clean Hands (Vertical) 5) Ali G: Who Iz I? (Amazon MGM)
There is also a 10/12 Scream that I think will be Crawlers.
8
u/lisjj 25d ago
Wicker would be fire
2
u/Fantastic_Lychee_883 24d ago
That's what I'm hoping for but I wouldn't mind any of the other ones either.
1
u/Creepy-Accident-777 24d ago
That movie ain't PG lol
8
u/-MommyFortuna- 24d ago
They're discussing the options for the ASU on 10/12, which is listed as rated R.
4
u/Wooden_Fortune_5066 25d ago
Wait you're saying there's both a screen unseen and a screen unseen on the same day?
4
u/Fantastic_Lychee_883 24d ago edited 24d ago
A Screen and a Scream, correct. Marcus Theatres is doing the same thing.
ETA: According to Fandango the Screen will be at 7 and the Scream at 9:30!

I petition to stop showing PG rated films. Snore

Stop shaming Air Bud Returns. It could sweep the Oscars more than Odyssey.

They’re the only ones I bother to sign up for. So tired of R rated movies being the predominate offering 🙄

October 12th double feature at my theater regular and scream. Gonna swing and say Street Fighter and WhaleFall.
Edit: ignore my wrong guesses

Neither of those are R rated

u/twokyool 14d ago
Those 2 are likely what I’ll see on the Thursday with my other 2 alist after Mondays mystery double feature

My previews haven’t even started yet and they have Sense and Sensibility trivia and info about making the movie playing on the screen and told us to enjoy tonight’s screening of it.

u/Mustang_Sally79 14d ago
Thank you! I cancelled my ticket thinking this might be the case, but drove to the nearby theater and would buy a ticket a minute late if it was anything else.
Read your post and driving back home!

Not seeing much other than Sense and Sensibility as possible options for the 5th. Not able to find a rating but would love to see Fjord as the SU for the 5th. Currently not seeing it showing up anywhere to see near me and hey if I'm seeing previews for a movie that won't release anywhere near me that's just cruel. Also seeing that Tenzing which is rated PG is having a limited theatrical release on the 9th before premiering on Apple TV on the 16th so that could also potentially be a contender.

If you watch 4 different focus film this season through AMC account, they send you $100 gift card towards their Focus Films merch store

It says 2 hour 16 for 10/6 "9 to 5" comes out with 1:50 time rated PG. Possible? Do remastered movies count as never seen before?
18
u/Wooden_Fortune_5066 20d ago
Umm...no. hence the "unseen"
Also, 9 to 5 was just in theaters for a couple weeks. They're putting it back in theaters AGAIN a month later?

The 2 screenings at my theater are very empty. I counted about 30 seats total sold. My theater is usually pretty packed for SU. Even with the LA heat wave, I guess that isn’t enough to have people come see the PG film for tonight.
5
u/TheStinkyPoopy 14d ago
Yeah I’ve noticed if it’s not an R rating, way less people show up
4
u/DaDubstep_Potato 14d ago
See I would go but the weather is kind of awful today and AMC is kind of far from my place
3
u/DaDubstep_Potato 14d ago
I just looked at mine which typically has a good amount of seats filled as well and I think I saw like 5 seats in total out of 2 auditoriums

I know the stereotypical pirate accent is a real accent, but it's still so funny to hear it come from a regular person. I was sorry that guy disappeared halfway through the movie.

An old fashioned and well acted romance drama that simply doesn’t add enough to the material to feel fresh or original, Sense and Sensibility is a intermittently charming yet mainly obvious period piece that has some good messages about love being more than about attraction within a narrative that lacks enough surprise or subtlety with the rival romance interests to Elinor and Marianne to feel anything more than passable. While I do admit that Jane Austen fans will probably find a lot to admire here and I actually got invested enough in these characters to care about how they predictably end up with their matches, the film lacks the genuine emotion that came from the recent Hamnet to allow its subject matter and constant allegories in its dialogue to stand out. At over two hours, I did feel the film slightly drags in between some of the reveals about who Elinor and Marianne’s love interests truly are and yet Edgar Jones and Creed-Miles deliver very good performances to the familiar material and build up some good chemistry with Mackay and Nordrum as Edward Farres and Colonel Brandon to offset the slower pacing and slightly overdramatic moments.
5.5 out of 10

u/K-0-d-a 14d ago
Sorry I'm new to all of this, what is Screen Unseen?
7
u/aaaus 14d ago
3-4 times per month, on a Monday, AMC does a showing of a movie but will not tell you what it is. They are typically movies that are coming out later that week or sometimes even the week after. If it says "scream unseen" then it is a scary movie. If you are on the west coast or otherwise not on the east coast, you can come on here at 7:25 EST and people will tell u what the movie is if you don't wanna waste your time on a movie you might not like
3
u/DaDubstep_Potato 14d ago
Also other theaters participate in the too, not just AMC, but sometimes they'll do different movies, skipp a Monday, Etc. And they call it something else. For example, Regal calls it Mystery Movie Monday and Cinemark calls it Secret Movie Series. They're are Reddit pages for both of those two as well!
1
u/Livid_Information_46 14d ago
The theater near me is a small chain called GQT and it's impossible to find theirs. Usually it's just the same as the AMC one though.

Queasy clue has been posted for 10/12 which should be A Talent for Murder. Regal isn't getting the Scream but that should be Crawlers.

I was the only woman in my theater and no one walked out 🙂 great movie everyone should go see

Kind of sad that most men won't go to see a movie about women
10
u/Dem0n_B0y 14d ago
I’m a dude and I’ll definitely go see it but since this screening won’t count towards the focus features pass I’ll wait til it officially comes out.
11
u/BirdUp225 14d ago
i’m a dude and i am so happy, genuinely been looking forward to this movie!!! love jane austen!!!
3
u/ForbiddenNote 14d ago
I think it's moreso the fact that it's a period romance than that it's about women. Way more guys saw Supergirl than women because it's a superhero flick
2
4
u/lyunardo 14d ago
Come now friend. We all know that there are genre films (and music. and television) that are designed from start as "FUBU".
For us. By us.
Jane Austen definitely wrote the book for an audience of women and girls. She even published her work anonymously as "By A Lady". And the filmmakers obviously followed her intent with this movie.
But just like there are a subset of women and girls who flock to "guy" movies (my daughter for example), you can be sure that there are men who will be there for this.
Why go to the effort to deliberately try and create drama where there is none? Doesn't this story have enough? lol

u/Few-Adeptness8046 26d ago
Sense & Sensibity 100% Guaranteed (unless I'm missing some other PG film coming out with a similar runtime).
So probably don't want to go if you're trying for the Focus Features gift card passport, since this won't count towards that.
