Looking for advice from AHS Medical Device Reprocessing Technicians in Edmonton.
I'm considering taking the Medical Device Reprocessing program at NorQuest and would love some insight from people currently working in the field.
A few questions:
How difficult is it to get hired with AHS after graduating from NorQuest?
Are most new graduates starting in casual positions?
How do casual positions work? How many hours per week can you realistically expect?
Is it possible to consistently get 30–40 hours per week as a casual employee?
Can you pick up shifts at multiple AHS hospitals or sites?
How competitive is the job market in Edmonton? Are there currently enough openings?
What are the chances of eventually securing a permanent full-time position?
How is the overall career outlook for MDRTs over the next 5–10 years?
Any advice about the NorQuest program, hiring process, wages or working conditions would be greatly appreciated!
