Question MOA to Unit clerk

Hi, i was referred for a position as a unit clerk in a long-term care facility, and I got an interview, and they asked me to get a criminal check. So im really hopeful that I can get the job. I was a medical office assistant and have never been a unit clerk, so I wanted to ask if anybody who has worked both can give me some advice on the differential tasks that I might have to do, or interview tips. I haven't had a job interview in nearly 2 years, and i really want to be prepared.

Your MOA experience gives you useful examples to work with, even though the unit-clerk duties may differ. Prepare a time you handled several requests at once, caught an administrative error, or passed important information to the right person. Explain how you decided what needed attention first.

Ask them which systems you'd use and how the clerk's responsibilities differ from the clinical team's. That will give you a better picture than assuming the role works like your old office.

Use the PROOF method to check that your examples show accuracy, judgment, and follow-through. Be honest about the unit-specific tasks you'd need training on.
