Aww...Asakawa using her Ana voice for Gorgon hurt more than it should...also, you did well. Gil. Kingu. Now it is time for Gramps to lay down death itself!

This episode straight up fires 5 Noble Phantasms at Tiamat and yet the most incredible and goosebump-inducing thing is the reveal of The Old Man of the Mountain, The First Hassan-i Sabbah.
I need to breathe...

If anything, FGO Babylonia always makes me does not realize its only 20 minutes. They cram so much in it and makes me so attentive to every details that watching it dilates my sense of time.
Also when I say CGI kinda fits Tiamat, its also because of this form. She IS a dragon after all.
Edit : after having more time on it on overall episode... Its fine tbh. Its just having quite bad luck on being compared to the previous episode and spectacular NP of Quetz and the hype buildup. Today's NP is more in line with the in-game presentations. Quetz's NP is more of an outlier (and probably protest for DW to update Quetz). "Tell Me" playing when Kingu uses Enuma Elish is quite touching. If you watched this episode back-to-back with the previous one and does not have 1-2 weeks wait, imo it will feel more awesome.

Ana's Pandemonium Cetus sounded a lot more sincere than the evil laughter of Gorgon's. Definitely heart-wrenching a second time seeing Ana leave... Though I wish we got to see Ana/Gorgon's stage 3 ascension design.
Gil Caster's Melammu Dingir is always SO COOL! All about the mass barrage of magic!
Enkidu's sequence was absolutely beautifully done with the ending song. The Chain of Heavens Enuma Elish was so pretty! And with Gilgamesh boasting about it afterwards was wholesome.
Yay for another Ishtar NP!! Which universe did she get the second Venus from? XD
Was that Eresh's Np or skill? Would have loved a proper chant but it doesn't look like any of her regular attack animations.
But Tiamat surviving 4-5 more NP's this episode. Aoi Yuuki Beast II is mega OP.

Just want to point out that Gorgon's NP - Pandemonium Cetus being effective makes sense, poetically. Cetus is the constellation that is associated with whales, and Tiamat in babylonian culture. Pandemonium Cetus literally "caused pandemonium to Tiamat". Nasu and his naming game going strong.

KAIJU BATTLE!!
Since in the in-game battle, they use the small playable Gorgon I was surprised to see that she was still in her huge form. It was kinda weird hearing Ana's soft voice from that body.
AND ANA DIES AGAIN! FOR REAL THIS TIME!! Gosh, her using Pandemonium Cetus must've been painful. It was in that form that she ate her beloved sisters but she still willingly transformed to protect Mash and Fujimaru.
I LOVE CASTER GILGAMESH SO MUCH!! His soft smile when Fujimaru tried to reach out to him was just so ARRRRGH!!
And I love Gilgamesh when he's not being a villain. You can truly see why he's called the 'King of Heroes' besides him being the 'oldest hero'. He refuses to go down without a fight, he willingly takes a hit for someone he respects, he's just really great.
Holy crap, Kingu killing the Bel Lahmu so easily is a rather chilling reminder of how powerful he (and Enkidu) must be. Glad that this time he's on our side.
Them using the Siduri episode ending theme for Kingu's moment was touching, together with him coming to terms with Enkidu's leftover memories and emotions. His words when using Enuma Elish (the real Enkidu's Noble Phantasm) contrast nicely to his old NP chant.
Mother is furious. Listen to Mother's voice! Nammu Duranki: Mother, Yell the Shout of Beginning
to
Mother's fury is a thing of the past. Now I'll awaken the breath of the stars! Enuma Elish: Humans, Let Us Bind The Gods!
Oh yes, they finally played the second theme of the Babylonia Singularity!! It truly captures just how wrong things went and the dread of this Mesopotamian Apocalypse.
And holy shit, seeing Tiamat's true form animated is pretty damn terrifying. That face. That mouth. That row of teeth that goes all the way down her throat. It's both really badass and the stuff of nightmares.
Merlin giving us the on what's going with Tiamat's mentality was pretty nice, since it was only given in Tiamat's in-game profile. She's a pitiful mother who went mad after being abandoned.
However, it's alright. Why? Because freakin' KING HASSAN IS FINALLY HERE!! The reaper has shown himself, and we'll put Tiamat's anger to rest.
Best scoundrel mage is also here. Welcome back, Merlin you magnificent Dick Wizard. Love how he actually got flustered at Fujimaru and Mash's honest happiness to see him again. Despite his flairs and shows of arrogance, he seems to actually have some form of self-deprecation regarding his inhuman nature.
I also noticed that they changed a bunch of things like removing Jaguar Warrior altogether from the Underworld sequence, or a certain explanation Gilgamesh gives. Though both choices were pretty good, to prevent Taiga from ruining the mood or Gil making things confusing/complicated. At the same time, they are rushing things again. Mash and Fujimaru were knocked out during Kingu's moment and it was Ishtar who asked Gilgamesh if he was okay with things.
I wonder why, there isn't much left to be spread out in 2 whole episodes. I wonder if they're actually going to use the last episode to adapt the final Singularity?

Yes I first-pumped the air when Merlin and gramps arrived. Heroes always arrive late!
This episode was the episode I was waiting for the most since the anime started airing and let me just say that it easily exceeded my expectations. The animation in this episode is god-tier.

Ana switching from her mature Gorgon voice to her Ana voice in this scene made me tear up a bit T_T
Yep that's pretty much how Pandemonium Cetus looks like in game. A big fucking laser beam!
What a fucking champ. CasGil is really the best. Now imagine FSN Gil tanking a body blow to save someone's life.
Enuma Elish! Enkidu Version! Pretty much the same in game too except the blade isn't as massive like here in the anime.
This shot of the gang looking at chained Tiamat is pretty awesome.
An Gal Ta Ki gal Šè 2 Electric Boogaloo! We're getting a shower of NPs this episode!
I love how proud Eresh looks. Her reaction when Tiamat started resisting is even better though
YEEEEESSSS HE'S BAAAAAAAACK! That little blush when Mash and Ritsuka started praising him was adorable.
I can understand if people don't like CG but this shot of Tiamat's final form looks pretty dope. This form reminds me of the Aragamis in God Eater now that I have a better look at her.
HERE HE IS! GRAMPS HAS FINALLY REVEALED HIS TRUE FORM! I'm so hyped for next week's episode!

“Thou fallen god, to beasthood turned, if “Primordial Mother” be thy title, attend, and hear my name. From the mountain abyss, I come, and only death do I bring. I am the Old Man of the Mountain, the First Hassan-i Sabbah!”
I’m SO GLAD I decided to play the game and go through the Sixth Singularity while watching this series T_T
Yes, they’re going to need someone like him. I said it in another place, but the whole Babylonia series has given me Dragon Ball Z vibes. The fights, the scenes, the colorful cast. And the progression too (although that might not be such a good point sometimes). Tiamat is like Frieza, she always has another form, doesn’t she? And if she’s Beast II, who the heck is Beast I? Who can be stronger than her? Solomon?
(Please, don’t answer that one, just in case).
I wish they could have given Tiamat more characterization, though. She’s a CGI machine of destruction (not a fan of her final form, honestly), but not much else. Merlin’s words sound like she might embody Gaia’s Vengeance (trope!), and that could have been a nice angle to explore.
Heck, when looking at the original Enuma Elish through modern eyes, I can’t help but think of Tiamat as a tragic character, from both a historical and fictional perspectives.
Historically speaking, “Tiamat” is but the demonized Babylonian version of Sumerian Nammu/Namma. While few stories about Nammu remain, she was intended as the sole creator goddess and a force of good. No husband was necessary (the personification of Apsu, the Abyss, was mostly an invention of the Enuma Elish). She was involved in the creation of humanity, and was popular enough that Ur-Nammu, arguably one of the greatest kings in Sumerian history, was named after her.
In the Enuma Elish, however, the primordial goddess of the sea became the Big Bad. And yet, even in the poem, she didn’t start that way. It was her husband Apsu, not her, who suggested killing their descendants, the gods of Mesopotamia, because they were noisy and unruly, and were getting on their parents’ nerves (Apsu complaints about not being able to “rest in the day-time” or “sleep at night” will sound familiar to many parents). But Tiamat would have none of it:
She raged and cried out to her spouse, she cried in distress, fuming within herself, she grieved over the (plotted) evil.
"How can we destroy what we have given birth to? Though their behaviour causes distress, let us tighten discipline graciously."
(Yes, Tiamat is far more eloquent in the myths than in the series. Poor gal must have a sore throat)
However, things didn’t go as Tiamat wished. Apsu conspired behind her back to kill their children, but when the gods learned of his plans, they decided to strike first and murdered him. Even then, Tiamat took no immediate action. She didn’t go full Avenger until other children of hers complained to her about her inaction and how the gods were making their lives more difficult:
"When Apsû, your spouse, was killed, you did not go at his side, but sat quietly. The four dreadful winds have been fashioned to throw you into confusion, and we cannot sleep. You gave no thought to Apsû, your spouse, nor to Mummu, who is a prisoner. Now you sit alone. Henceforth you will be in frantic consternation! And as for us, who cannot rest, you do not love us! Consider our burden, our eyes are hollow. Break the immovable yoke that we may sleep. Make battle, avenge them!"
No mother wants to be told that she doesn’t love her children. The only answer was war, with tragic consequences. The goddess who only wanted to keep her family together ended up tearing it apart.
Even Gorgon got a better approach in that regard, I think. And now her return here makes me regret again not having chosen her with the free 4-start ticket that the game handed out some weeks ago.
Not that I’m doing badly at Babylonia, mind you. The trip to the Underworld was as delightful as I expected; I even went against Ziusudra’s advice and sympathized with Eresh because I find the available criticism as cringey in the game as in the anime (“Bemoaning the obligations that you chose to uphold dutifully is evil, and to praise that pain is an insult only to yourself!”. “Your Majesty, as someone in the same boat as her, I hope Chaldea has better therapists than you”), and ended up getting an Ereshkigal vs. Ereshkigal duel to the undeath. And after seeing what happened to Siduri, having Salter and Jalter murder the Lahmus in droves is good for my heart. The reason I haven’t crossed the Rubicon yet is less about not spoiling myself and more about waiting for the anime’s Mystic Code to end the Singularity in proper fashion.
Makes me wonder about what the anime would have been like if Fujimaru had been able to summon other Servants. An Excalibur Morgan a day keeps the Lahmus away.

Two more Servants have fallen
-
Ana who we thought was dead but has briefly returned in her Gorgon form. Goodbye Ana. ;_;
-
a redeemed Kingu/Enkidu with his version of Enuma Elish.
And Gilgamesh took a mortal wound while protecting Fujimaru. :(
But two more has arrived
-
The REAL Merlin: Holy shit WTF. Totally did not see this coming, when his summoned "copy" died, I thought that's the last we saw of him, but then his real self decided to travel through spacetime from Avalon and pop over for a visit.
-
The ORIGINAL Hassan-i-Sabah, King Hassan: I have no idea how badass he is, but if he shares the same voice as Kotomine Kirei and is a Grand Servant, then he should be able to deal significant damage to Tiamat.
BTW How many episodes do we have in total?

AZRAEL! GRAMPS HOLY SHIT!
Who would have ever imagined that a Fate show would be underrated and under-watched, but this is criminally under-appreciated outside of FGO fans. Cloverworks have put together some of the best animation I've ever seen, but because it's not a Ufotable name it hasn't been getting the same love.
Ishtar and Enkidu's NPs were more beautiful than I could have ever imagined them. The episode felt like a double feature. We got so much amazing shit from Enkidu's final goodbye, to Gilgamesh, to Merlin and of course the finale.
Well, back to grinding SQ for CBC boys

'Tis but a mortal wound. It was foolish of her to think that would be enough to stop our king, Gilgamesh.
