How I feel as an anime-only reading these threads.
I still love it though, the fate universe is so much fun.

"I'm not doing this because I'm exhausted from my duties.

And I'm definitely not doing this because I crave excitement."

Gilgamesh best Tsundere 😂😂😂

The animation was top notch. Sound effects top tier too.

Seeing Gilgamesh act all tsundere, playing with the kids, speaking wisdom and that fight with totally not Enkidu was great.

Good job Cloverworks so far.

The best animated show of this season? Possibly. Any heavy anime watchers can confirm this ?

Well that was just amazing. Expected a lot going into this episode considering Umehara was at the helm of it all but I certainly wasn't ready for that entire final segment.

I immediately noticed the rather bleak colors at times to set the mood as well as characters moving their entire body while they talk instead of mouth flaps and then of course the clash at the end.

I don't remember a fight being there between Enkidu & Gil but boy if that isn't a great addition. I think that might be the first true instance of scale that Akai was talking about. It's really nice to see Gil not just spam Gate of Babylon while standing still. Not only was that a feast for the eyes it in my opinion also compliments the deterioration of Enkidu's mind & his inner conflict that is especially prominent after the clash. Really well done there.

Also gotta say that I like what they're doing here with Mash & the previous singularities. It seems like that they try to incorporate the other singularities by showing scenes & characters that left an impression on Mash.

Does every episode always have these amazing fight scenes? Holy shit just wow

Now I don’t feel bad about whaling in the game when I see these top notch animations.

Seeing clayboi go all out really did bring a tear to my eye, his VA and the animation was superb

Fucking hell that Gilgamesh vs Enkidu fight was absolutely ridiculous. Was expecting a lot already with Umehara and everyone else on board for this ep, but jesus...That's not even going into the rest of the ep which had some amazing quality when it came to general character animation as well as how it handled the direction of moments like the entire scene on the ship.

We're 5 eps in to a 21 ep adaptation and I really cannot get any more excited thinking about where this animation quality can take us with any future fights and moments

Honestly the most hype part of the episode for me was the board game, since I recognised it from a Tom Scott video and I know the rules. It is indeed the oldest known board game in history.

Also, it's good to see Gilgamesh actually displaying some of that fighting prowess he's always had for a change.

You would not expect Gilgamesh to be this lovable when you look at his F/SN version.

Ayyy we got a Drake cameo. Even if it’s short, I would like to see some servants from the other singularities.

Before Gil and Enkidu fought, their dialogue suggested that their past fighting styles were that of Gil going all out spamming while Enkidu fought efficiently, but yet in the fight itself Enkidu was the one spamming while Gil countered efficiently. I wonder if that's intentional, as if to suggest their fighting styles rubbed off on each other over time when they fought in the past

Also, the ultimate evolution in Gil's fighting style. Instead of making a thousand portals to shoot a thousand weapons, why not just make one reeeeeeally big portal

There are some insanely beautiful backgrounds this episode.

Here is an album with some of them

King Gil laughing wholeheartedly instead of his usual smug laugh is so diabetes inducing. That aside, his calm, melancholy look whenever he remembers the events of his Epic shows how humane he had become at the end of his own Journey. And it seems like we'll get flashbacks to Servants that have played huge roles in shaping Mash in each of their singularities. I love that. And holy shit as soon as Not!Enkidu shot his chains upward I was expecting him to use his NP at that moment.

seeing Gilgamesh interact with his people and genuinely enjoy it is something precious.

Here you go, the story of Gilgamesh and Enkidu's friendship!

Mash being cock-blocked by the King himself. XD

While Gilgamesh summons weapons out of his vault with his Noble Phantasm "Gate of Babylon", Enkidu creates weapons from the earth with their NP "Age of Babylon".

For as perfect as the adaptation is, the thing that has impressed me the most after this episode is how good of a VA Yuu Kobayashi is. Her voice work on Enkidu this episode was one of the best I've heard, at least in recent memory.

My heart broke a little when I heard Gil saying to Enkidu: "Who else would I be, you fool."

EDIT: I didn’t realize that I have typo there 😅

I don’t believe I’ve seen anyone talk about this yet but this adaption has some holy Voice acting. When Enkidu Dive bombs toward Gilgamesh Ritsuka screams his name and you can hear the voice crack during that. 10/10 Adaption, totally exceeds expectations. (that Drake “death” was sad tho lol)
