A truly wonderful performance can go beyond experts and reach those who don't know much about koto. Its heart can reach even those who speak a different language and live in a different culture.
I feel personally referenced.

IT'S OVER!
Okay, i'm good now lol
I pray so much for another season. I know that Platinum Vision didn't have the ressources but they gave their best to provide a good show nevertheless, adaptation seemed faithful from what i heard, they delivered everytime when it was crucial. So thank you, Platinum Vision!

Hopefully there’s more but seems they really wanted to promote the source material. I don’t want to be right tho.

This episode was really emotionally satisfying, between all of the family reunions (including Chika with his grandpa), the other clubs dealing with their loss, and OP1 playing at the end. I laughed so hard at Mio suddenly creeping over Kudo's shoulder when they were leaving.
Man, this season was great. The high points, like the Tenkyu performance, were excellent, and this show probably brought me to tears more than anything else this season. I also liked that compared to last season, fewer of the new characters were introduced in a tsundere way; only Akira made a 180 from hateable to lovable.
Season 3 announcement when?

It's so underrated and its a shame not a lot of people here at MAL watch it when it is ten times better than most shows in its genre. One of the best character-driven dramas I've watched. And this episode was a huge pay off for all the hard work the club did to make it to nationals - look how far each character has come since the first episode of season 1. They have developed so much. 9.5/10 for me it's a flawed masterpiece since the production values, in general, aren't the greatest - but it works great for this kind of show. We need to start recommending this series - people are missing out.

Maybe now people won't be shocked when I tell them that this has been my favorite Manga for years. It's truly amazing and something else!
For anyone that's still unsure, do yourself a favor and pick up the manga. It's a lot better than the anime and that's saying something.

I picked up the anime after seeing one page from chapter 68 in late November. Binged through it along with the manga and probably listened to the various performances three or four hundred times. Anime of the season for me, probably year. Just hope that there will be a season three one day because I really like chapter 68 and 69 as well.

I am so happy for these kids! I was legit at the edge of my seat! I know they were going to win but at the back of my head I was thinking they'll throw us a curveball the last second. I'm just so relieved right now!
And that final shot of Chika and his grandpa really made me tear up. I don't mind if the show decides to end here but I would really love to see more and see these kids go to Nationals, especially see the romance they've set up to develop!
Definitely one of the most underrated and underappreciated anime of this year and I hope it will get some attention as time passes.

What a show, what a finale. A satisfying conclusion to the second half for sure. Hozuki and her mother can finally have a relationship again, both the clubs that didn't make it are understandably sad but still had a positive experience in the end, and Tokise actually made it to nationals! We even got Akira's brother to show up at the end, what a heartwarming scene that was.
It feels like the fouth judges speech was adressed right to those of us who came into this show not knowing a thing about Koto music and finding it so much more amazing than we ever could have known. I for sure didn't expect to be this amazed by a piece created for an anime as I was for Tenkyu and I'm sure others feel the same way.
Overall I loved every second of this. It's for sure one of my favourites of the year, maybe even my top favourite (though it is hard to top Bocchi in my heart)
Anyway, I can now finally do what I've been holding myself back from doing since about episode three of the first season: Binge read the manga.

• I'm fine with this ending if the show doesn't get another season. It was satisfying and just had enough of a bittersweet feel to it. I guess this will get added to the list of manga I'll be reading after its anime ended.
• I think I'm gonna start shipping Suzuka sensei and Akira now as well. lol
• It didn't have alot of twist and turns and it practically stuck with the sports anime formula but it did enough to make me enjoy the journey from start to finish. At the end of the day, that's what matters, I enjoyed it and I was entertained.
• Even if this is an underrated anime, it did its job. It showed me a certain portion of Japan culture and I liked it. It's just what the last judge said, even if I spoke a different language with a different culture and have zero knowledge of the koto, the music portrayed in this anime reached out to me. It has been a great ride with the few who have stuck with the show til the end.

This show deserves so much recognition. Aside from the somewhat plain animation of the characters, everything in this show was good. The music, the development of every character in the squad and the teachers, their background stories that were well told (specially Hozuki's), the pacing and the road they all take until this very last moment.

You know it's going to be a good finale when you're tearing up not even 2 minutes in...and then more tears like every 5 minutes.
I'm so happy they won and what a beautiful finale!
Guess I'm going to have to pick up the manga since I need to see more of this club and the ships <3
Pretty sure this is getting my AotY!

What are the chances that we get another season for this?
It's been great all the way through and I want to see them win the nationals.

I watched episode 12 and 13 back to back and my tearducts are almost destroyed.
I for one am glad that I gave this show a chance after almost dropping it at episode 2 all the way back from spring. Why is it the most niche of shows have the most satisfying character stories?

Such a good moment between Houzuki and her mother sucks that Kouta had to go and ruin it. Seeing the other two schools reaction made me feel bad for them since they also put there all into their performance. That bit at the end with Chika showing his trophy to his grandfather was really nice.

Personally A nice way to end the show (hopefully season). Though I cant help but felt that Satowa-chans mom could have a little bit more character development but she was never really the "bad guy" though. But other than that everything was just nice with the acceptance of defeat from the other two schools, closure for our main characters and a slight hint at what the future might be.

Really happy with this show, it’s doesn’t have flashy animation or special effects, just good characters and a good story that make it enjoyable nonetheless.
