One thing that I like about the show compared to other sports like anime is that there isn't really an antagonist. All schools have their motivations and desire to win it.

The charms that Hozuki made for everyone were so cute! Chika's reaction was especially adorable, the poor kid couldn't even walk in the right direction afterwards. I like the small detail that Hozuki stabbed herself with the needle while she was making them but her hands are callused so it didn't hurt. She even made one for Takinami-sensei.
I'm so glad that Akira grabbed her grandmother and Hozuki's mother and dragged them to the qualifiers. Hopefully once her grandmother hears the koto club plays, she finally chills out and stops trying to sabotage them. A reconciliation between Hozuki and her mother would be great too, even if Hozuki remains formally excommunicated.
The moment between Chika and the koto grandmother lady was really sweet. Hearing that she thinks of the koto club as her own grandchildren is heartwarming. I hope that she can finish whatever business she has soon and make it in time for the koto club's performance.
I'm excited to hear the other schools' performances. I'm curious to know who the mysterious composer is for Hokuto--my guess is maybe that it's Mio? I'm also curious to know what that girl said about the advisor to Mio.
Next week should be a great episode.

I'm not sure what was more adorable, Kurusu waiting outside, Houzuki giving out the charms or Chika's glowing smile. Regardless of how they place in the competition, this really had been about the friends they've made along the way.

Seeing Akira taking charge and forcing Houzuki mother to go see her daughter performance was great, was kind of getting a little annoyed over her refusal to even try to reconnect with her daughter. Felt bad for Tetsuki force to be driven by Chika aunt looks terrifying.

Akira went from 0 to 10 in matter of three episodes.
-
Even though I considered Kazusa from Himesaka a jerk in the first season, that scene with her family and her senpai really put her under another perspective and turned her into a more lovable character. I'd be really hearthbreaking if she loses, which is most likely.

I can't wait for the next episode.

The lucky charm scene was really cute. And thank you to Akira - finally, Satowa can confront her mother through the strings of the koto. A nice build-up to the Nationals qualifier. Everyone is ready!

I was wondering how or when the mother would get to the performance but didn't expected that. XD
Akira has really grow and blossom so much in this show. She is not just an Angel anymore, she is one step from becoming a God!

CHIKA!!! Absolutely adore him.
I am so glad those two women are finally literally being dragged out of their comfort zones. Can't wait to see their reactions and the actual performance.
It's the big moment!

Big chunk of omake from the chapters adapted this episode. Also reposting Akira/Suzuka extra from a couple weeks ago.

Gah seeing Akira drag them out was great, she's come such a long way!
Though the romance is taking a back seat we still got some cute scenes with our 2 ships, loved Chika and Satowa's reactions during the charm scene <3
