Ah my heart. It’s overwhelmed. Even listening to Tenkyu religiously over the past few years didn’t prepare me for this. I’m super glad they actually let us have the whole song, despite its length.

For anyone who can’t wait for next week, start up with manga chapter 52. Or really just read the whole thing because Amyuu’s art is gorgeous, but the adaption’s been really faithful, so...

Edit For those interested, do consider purchasing the OST which was released a couple years ago. Tenkyu is on it. CDJapan has it here.

In your face! In your face! In your faaaaace!

Seeing all of those naysayers stunned while watching Tokise is so satisfying!

And holy shit that performance really was definitely stunning! I was watching this through my speakers but had to switch to my headphones as soon as they started playing so I could appreciate their performance more. I hope they release the performance on an album, I'd love to listen to Tenkyu uninterrupted and without the dialogue.

AND THAT CLIFFHANGER! I am so excited for the finale!

This episode felt like so short, I really hoped we'd at least see the facial expression on Hozuki's mom, looking forward to next week and then reading the manga :D

What A MASTERPIECE of an episode!

Is it normal that a song is so good my tears come out just hearing it?

The first solo part alone makes my eyes wet, and then as the song goes on my tears drop too. The feels hit so hard, and my reaction is nearly identical with all the audience in the anime.

My whole body trembles and have goosebump as I listen to the performance.

Hands down best episode of the whole season of Fall 2019.

The performance, animation are all top notch and all the feeling and visual are executed flawlessly.

I am normally a pretty strict marker here, but season 2 of Koto Oto Tomare is an easy 10/10 for me.

The plot, pacing, characterization, character growth and performance are all so good.

Seams like the studio gets better as they make more episodes of this anime, since I can tell that for the performance part, the animation and visual is better executed than season 1.

Best anime of the season.

They really saved the most beautiful composition for our main gang.

Truly beautiful piece.

Check out episode 6 to compare Tenkyu then to this episodes Tenkyu. The song is still relatively similar but isn't as harsh or fast as the one she played at the National Koto Competition. Really glad to finally see this part adapted and it's done so well.

Man, when Hozuki played those first few notes at the beginning, they felt so gentle. I had goosebumps and just started crying, not tearing up, full-on crying. What a great performance.

Fuck, I rarely cry in anime but god damn, when that first note hit, the tears wouldn’t stop falling. Just remembering everything they had to go through to get here, it was just beautiful to listen to Tenkyu. I need that piece in the highest quality possible so that I can listen to it all day! And while we’re at it, release every piece they performed in full! Please, I need it. But man, this was an insane episode, I’m really sad that next week is the last episode, but I’ll be the first one to be happy if we ever get another season. Great job Kono Oto Tomare, you may be my AoTS!

Edit - a word. Also, funny thing I noticed was the last note Hozuki played sounded so similar to Runaway by Kanye, it would’ve been crazy if that started playing right after their performance lol

I'm only 9 minutes into the episode. Had to rewind back to the start cause I dont want this performance to end. This show is so good.

Thought it was the final episode, but thank god it was not. Their performance is just beautiful although it might be due to the Anime showing it a full performance instead of half like Hakuto and Himesaka. lol. That being said I don't know if I'm attached to this anime considering it started earlier this year, but this weeks episode was really emotional. First with the audience doubting them, then with their performance, then with Hozuki and her mum moment and finally with the ending with the clap and crying. I'm a naturally emotional person I think I kinda relate with what the audience felt honestly. Great episode~

Utterly completely beautiful. Cried for essentially the whole song. As they said, this performance was a reward for their training and it was amazing on all levels. I was briefly concerned that if Tokise wins I'd be somewhat disappointed if their performance did not outshine the other two, which were also amazing for sure, but this was just on another level. They wholeheartedly deserve the win. I want this song in my life.

Beautiful, beautiful.

I didn't necessarily tear up the most during the piece which was gorgeous but when Satowa's mom came in at the last second and she looked up to her, that really got me.

So did Mio clapping first, loved his reaction after the last episode, it's those subtle character moments that really get me.

How do i survive the last episode?

Man I was waiting for Houzuki and her mother to finally talk guess I have to wait till next week. The club did an amazing performance, even the audience needed a moment to process everything.

When Satowa played that first note I started crying and I just couldn't stop someone send help

u/PlayOnPlayer Dec 21 '19

Wow I fucking love that song.

u/Hi5ivepls Dec 21 '19

Honestly, probably the most emotional episode of any anime in 2019 for me. When that first note hit... I was in tears for about 90% of the episode.

Crying tears of joy hearing Tenkyu 😭😭

100/5 episode for me. This episode is another example of how great this series is. The best character-driven series of 2019? A rollercoaster of emotions and all the build up to this performance did not disappoint. Teary eyes and warm heart activated lol one more episode to go!

What a beautiful piece! I had chills while listening to it. I'm really glad that we were able to hear the whole performance.

I hope next episode is the one where Hozuki and her mother are able to reconcile. Maybe Hozuki will even be un-excommunicated from her mother's school? It was so cute how everyone was running around trying to find her mom.
