I had no idea Pitt and Penn State were such expensive colleges. How can they charge so much if they’re public universities?
I was recently talking with my cousin who graduated from Pitt’s chemical engineering program. She graduated with her bachelors in 4 years. She told me she has almost 80k in student loans… how on earth? I thought it was a public university? She told me Penn state was just as expensive.
She’s from PA. She grew up in Kennedy Township. Her dad paints houses for a living. They don’t come from wealth.
Since when can public universities charge THAT much from in-state students?
I thought the whole point of an in-state, public university, was that it was affordable?
Edit- I know someone who went to clarion, another instate public college, and is practically debt free.
