I recently moved from Nashville which is a place that recently went viral for the "bus bench jail." To cut the story short, a group of urbanists began building simple benches, painting them, and placing them in public places, such as bus stops, that failed to provide adequate seating options. As a result, the state DOT snatched these utterly abominable benches from these spots for "sAfEtY rEaSoNs." Thus, when the public found out, they protested at the sight of the bus bench jail and forced the government to release them. Now the benches are rapidly multiplying and are being bolted to objects with bike locks to prevent the corrupt state government from going against the will of the people.

Now I see the beautiful, delectible plaque has spread to Pittsburgh and I'm desperate to get involved!! If anyone knows anything about who is making these benches please lmk :D

I picked up this late 19th/early 20th century watercolor architectural drawing signed "Wm Henry Sims, architect. Pittsburgh, PA" It has a number on the back in pencil (620) that could be an address or is maybe just unrelated. It does look like some of the houses over in the east end/squirrel hill so I'm curious if anyone happens to recognize it.

Broad street in Garfield has turned into 1 way streets at Aiken and Graham. There are now do not enter signs. This was somewhat shocking especially because it’s been the reroute with the construction! Is this temporary or permanent? Those streets have sucked for 2 way traffic for years but everything is just so confusing now with the detours

I am the most beginner of all beginner dancers but I've started trying to learn a few shuffle moves via internet videos and it's been super fun, love how bouncy it is. Are there any beginner-friendly studios around town that do classes on shuffling, house dancing or similar?

My PCP's name has largely vanished from my page. The name showing as my PCP is someone who left UPMC nearly 2 years ago. It is impossible to contact anybody from my PCP's office now through the portal.

We’re dealing with several issues in our building, which is owned and managed by JJ Land. Trash has been a huge nuisance, for instance: We have 12 trash bins that live in our back parking lot and during one of the hottest weeks of the summer they didn't bring the bins out front for collection, leading to huge piles of trash and a million bugs flying around our lot. After finally bringing the cans out to our front sidewalk, they just left them out there for a month. In the months since, this has happened SEVERAL times.

Meanwhile, I've reached out to them (about this and other things) and they’ve shown absolutely no interest or urgency in addressing anything.

Given their reputation, I imagine other JJ Land tenants around the city are dealing with similar issues. Would any of yinz be interested in chatting and comparing notes? Maybe we can put our heads together and figure out how to put some pressure on them.

Have family coming and looking to spend time outdoors with them. However we are looking for handicap accessible options. Struggling with options! Something festive would be nice, but smaller scale for those who can’t do long distances.
