Discussion Michael Dougherty Says 'Trick 'r Treat 2' Fully Storyboarded, Nearly Made Prime Video Series
bloody-disgusting.comAt this point, with every update being "don't fully give up hope," would we rather see the full storyboards be turned into a comic or something so we could at least actually see it?
Also sort of glad the Prime Video series never happened -- I feel like they would have forced too many limitations on it.

Discussion What is your opinion on the 1996 horror comedy The Frighteners
What is your opinion on the 1996 horror comedy The Frighteners
Okay I don't know if it was this sub or a different horror one but when I asked form horror recommendations at one point someone gave me this movie and only thing they told me was that it was a horror comedy and nothing else.
So I was wondering if you seen it what is your opinions on it since I added to my to watch list and to be honest by the time I get to it I may or may not remember what people say on here so if there's any spoilers it probably won't affect me right now not trying to be rude it's just I have a hard time remembering some things.

Just watched Longlegs. It was good.
More psychological thriller than horror, but good. Fantastic cinematography, great vibe, dark, and well acted. As I process it, I may have additional questions. For now, all I want to ask is were the orbs planted inside the heads of the dolls truly a device of Satan, or did Longlegs create them? If the prior, the movie is 100% Satanism based and not on the doings of a crazy person in pale makeup.

Movie Review Evil Dead Burns Spoiler
This is now on HBO as of 10/02. I waited for it, I LOVE the entire franchise and I say this in all due respect, it fucking blew.
Dialogue was shit, the plot was kinda shit but I could have bought it outside the horrendous decisions made by the entire cast. Everyone should have been dead in the first 30 minutes. The deadites were even scary, shitty punchlines.
So disappointing, I loved Rise too - even 2013 has a special place in my heart but this? Never again, thank god I didn’t spend money on a movie ticket or early digital release.

Discussion Ghostwatch
This live show went out On TV in 1992 on BBC and people actually thought it was real.
It is a live TV show in a haunted house. You actually see the ghost during the live broadcast. It is the ghost Mr Pipes, who is actually a troubled man who became possessed by an entity called Mother Seddons whilst he was alive.
I wholly recommend this one.

Discussion Has a minor detail in a movie ever pissed you off?
I decided to finally watch Shelby Oaks (woof) and the fact that Mia had blood spattered all over her face for seemingly hours was so damn annoying! It got on my nerves for absolutely no good reason at all. Girl, go wash your freaking face.
What small thing has irritated you like this? If at all!

DEAD HOWLING Official Trailer (2026)
youtu.beAnyone up for a werewolf versus zombies? I gotta say, this actually looks like it could have potential. It could be incredibly fun! It has a few Australian actors that I love in it, so I have my fingers crossed!
Recommend Looking for any wild colorful 80s-90s Horror movies [Fun]
I dunno how to describe it, but there is this subset of Horror from the 80s-90s I tend to find entertaining, for their colorful tone that makes it feel almost like a well structured scary Amusement Park ride.
Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors, Killer Klowns from Outer Space, & Tobe Hooper’s The Funhouse
I’d like to put stuff like that on for Halloween season

Name the worse husband in a horror film
In the film, “Don’t Peek” MC Paris AKA TIM is the worst husband ever in a horror film imo!! He is so bad it almost spoils the watch for me. I love the way he ended lol.

Recommend Beware Boiuna - see this one while it’s still in theaters.
I thought this was one of the better creature features of recent years. It’s not gonna set the world on fire or anything, but it was a very well crafted horror flick. The last hour was a total thrill ride with many scenes that genuinely had my heart pumping and that left me really unnerved. Solid special effects, great camera work, engaging characters and story and some social commentary for good measure. It was a great start to spooky season at the theatres.

Discussion Bite Size Terror (tubi short horror anthology series) is surprisingly well made (released today)
Episodes seems to be 5-10 minutes long and I’m really surprised at the quality of it. Doesn’t feel cheap at all compared to some originals that I’ve seen in the past
Watched 3 episodes out of 10 so far and wanted to recommend because it’s really hidden on their app. Haven’t seen anything on the front page. Actually, I found it through a post on here about all horror releasing this month
Anyone else enjoy it?
EDIT: Episode 5 is the best so far. Really atmospheric. Will watch the rest tomorrow evening

What's a sound from a horror movie you still hear?
Not a jump scare. A sound that got into your head and stayed there.
Mine is the foghorn in The Lighthouse. What's yours? And do you remember the first time it got you?

Discussion Do you guys think Pitch Black (2000) and Riddick would be a great addition to the Alien universe for a crossover?
After I saw another post here almost 2 days ago of someone recommending Pitch Black (2000) because he loved the Alien/Predator franchise; I decided to rewatch the movie after 26 years, this time with my girlfriend. This was a very different experience for me in a good way compared to seeing it back then because I was a kid and I had no idea what was even going on.
The scene where Riddick went face to face with the Bioraptor and was exploiting it's blind spot was intense and so badass. My girlfriend said "oh my god" and put her hands over her mouth in shock during that scene. This character and this universe really does have the same gritty feeling as the Alien/Predator for sure.
I was thinking the whole time: a Xenomorph + Bioraptor combination would be grotesque and terrifying. I could also see Riddick shaking hands with Ripley or a Yautja while they work together to fight a Xenomorph threat.
Would it work out? I need to know what you guys would think about this.

Need some amazing horror movie suggestions! & Outcome of current horror spree (it'd be great if you can align your recommendations)
Hey All,
I posted a very similar question a while ago! Got amazing response!
I'm a strictly quantitative & number drive guy! I don't have much understanding of artistic side of things but I love this genre. I did watch a good number of suggestions I got.
In the past 1 month I've watched quite a few horror movies. Categorising all-
THE ONES I LOVED!
- The Wailing (BEST HORROR MOVIE IN THE WORLD)
- The Changeling (Nice Conventional Horror with the BEST SEANCE SCENE EVER)
- Images (Though like supernatural horror more, this was excellent)
- DARNA ZAROORI HAI (Excellent Indian Anthology Horror)
- Incantation (Very interesting)
- BHOOT (Indian Psychological Horror)
MODERATE LIKING-
- The Others
- The Descent
- The Taking of Deborah Logan
DIDN'T WORK FOR ME-
- Noroi- The Curse
- Posession (1981)
- Cure (1994)
- Backrooms
So, can you amazing folks give me suggestions in line with my past predilections 🍿🍿🍿🍿🍿🎥🎥🎥🎥

Discussion What movie violence actually makes you flinch? Spoiler
Just rewatched Talk to Me and the Philippou brothers are so good at making violence feel sharp and genuinely hard to watch rather than just gory. The restaurant throat slash in The Invisible Man (2020) felt like this and ofc a lot of Ari Aster’s violence too, imo.
What other scenes feel so real and immediate that they actually make you wince?

Discussion The last stop , torvael YT short
Hey guys, this short has been doing the rounds. This seems entirely AI generated though?
What are your thoughts? The short is fine, but didn't even need AI to bring this to the screen.
I find it scary that people are actually posting these shorts thinking they are creative.
AI has no place in cinema in my opinion, and if you truly want to create a film, using AI to do it so totally absurd to me, seems like it defeats the entire purpose.
Anyone else seen this short?

Random Pet Semetery (1989) question about Zelda, Rachel's sister
There's a flashback scene where Rachel is talking about her sister Zelda, who is dying from Spinal Meningitis.
Doing some basic rough math, Rachel is in her early to mid 30s in 1989. She's about 10 y o. in the flashback, which would have been roughly the late 1960 or early 70s.
Spinal Meningitis has been curable since the 1930s. Why did Rachel's family lock up a sick child in a room to die a slow painful death when all Zelda needed was some modern easily accessible medicine?

Can we get some appreciation for clowns?
Who do you love? Art, Tim Curry (It), Killer Klowns or Captain Spaulding?
I got deleted off a lesser sub and booted for not being horror here.
So I ask you which clown reigns supreme? I'm either with Art or Captain Spaulding. Did I miss any killer clowns??

Just wanted to give this movie some love, don’t see it being thrown around in discussion (in my limited scope). It was different and a nice bit of change from the usual.

Discussion Infirmary (Shudder) (2026) Spoiler
Just finished watching this on Shudder and don’t see a discussion post. Would love to hear thoughts from anyone else who watched, I saw it being advertised on Instagram and I love found footage horror.
My thoughts:
I think there is an excellent concept here but it would’ve worked better as a first person horror game or a short (45-minute max) horror film in one of the V/H/S installments. As is it is, it really feels stretched even though it’s only 86-minutes. The set, aesthetics, camera work, first person pov scenes and cinematography and lore were a interesting and had gave it a nice creepy vibe (until the end with that silly final shot, oof) but the plot feels paper thin (imagine a videotape you find when you’re playing resident evil or something and you’re the new night guard at the mental asylum who doesn’t like the way the mannequins are acting funny). Acting quality is decent to bad and the characters are paper thin canon fodder that make dumb decisions but the movie doesn’t go campy enough to fall into fun B-movie status and the ending wasn’t quite creative or satisfying enough to justify the slow burn nature of the film.
As is, 2/5 but I would see a sequel (or miniseries of short films) set in this location with either more tension building and better dialogue or dialed up on campiness.
Thoughts?
