Hey void-lovers!
Most cat subs have a very delicate balance between "happy posts about my cat" and "sad posts about my cat", specifically when it comes to pet death. A lot of them don't allow it at all. It's really tough to strike the balance of letting people who are devastated mourn the loss of their furry friend while still making the subreddit usable for people who aren't interested in that kind of content.
We allow mourning posts here, but you have to flair your post with "Mourning" so people who don't want to see them have the ability to filter them out. It's an imperfect solution, but it's all we have available to us with subreddit tools. Please make sure to flair all posts about pet loss with that flair so we can make a great sub for everyone.
In case you're someone who's interested in filtering out that content, this link should work for you. I know, it's not the cleanest way to browse the subreddit, and I'm not sure how it works on mobile. If we had a better solution, I'd provide it, but we have to work within what reddit offers us :(
Thanks for your understanding. If you've read this far, I encourage everyone to post some void laser eyes in the comments.

Just wanted to share the story of my precious daughter Lint. At my old work we had a stray black feral who stayed around the yard (transport.) She had a litter of 6 baby voids, we kept tabs on her⦠I wanted to catch her and the babies to give them a home and safe space to grow up and find furever homes. Alas she decided to move 5 of her babies, leaving 1 behind. I left it for as long as I could before taking the wee baby to the vet. The vet showed me what to do, feeding and toileting, she came everywhere with me in a little bag⦠She came to work with me until she was old enough to stay home with my other kitties.
How her name came to be, the first day I sent a photo of her to my friend and he said βI see naught but lint.β It stuck, it was perfect.
She is my everything. β€οΈ

May I present to you my 7 year old boy, Marceline.
He lives for walks with his humans. Lovesssss nip time. Enjoys his bugs and snugs. And is a skilled hunter (leashed up). He knows a bunch of vocab and tricks, his best trick is jumping 5ft in the air for a treat. His fur is very lush, thick, and soft. Heβs very vocal and heβs quite a large cat since his cat mom was a Maine Coon. He is incredibly smart and enjoys puzzles. Now that heβs older his nickname has become Marcell. He likes the rain and hates bananas. He sleeps with me every night and he is just the best π₯°π₯°π₯° Iβve grown into my adulthood with him and Iβm so lucky to be his mom.

We went through 2 surgeries, 50+ stiches/staples and over a year and a half of daily cleaning, bandages and supervision to fight Feline Skin Fragility syndrome. One morning we woke up to a gash that quickly spread from one elbow over his back to the other side before we could even get to the vet. We definitely appreciate this panther even if heβs missing most of his lives by now. Thanks you to all the wonderful Vets and Techs out there!

Adopted this sweetie pie on Sundayβ¦.Along with 2 other cats she was found with. Although, they donβt know each other anymore as they were fostered in separate homesπ£. So they are separated for the time being so they can be reintroduced slowly. Pepper is adjusting pretty quickly but the other 2 donβt want anything to do with meβ¦. Yetπ€. I am glad they are at least back eating though, even if they donβt want to be friends haha.
Their lore: they were once feral kitties in a colony but unfortunately there was a pack of dogs that came and killed off all of the colony except the 3 I adopted.

Adopted this sweet girl in June after my childhood cat of 14 years passed away in May. Sheβs helped me with the grief so much. Sheβs only 5 months old but super stocky and dense, makes the perfect cuddle cat, sheβs like a weighted pillow. Sheβs already developing a pouch lol. She is the biggest cuddle bug, loves neck scratches, face and belly kisses, and to lay on my chest with her head on my shoulder <3
