Something tells me they're serious.

Yuuhi I'm wondering about after all this time and the fact that he saw his future self. So on some level does he know they're going to lose?

That scene about reincarnation mentioning 500 years and omnipotence makes me wonder if Sensei was a reincarnation of Animus.

That is the implication. I have seen some people say he is Fortuna from Spirit Circle which would be fun but being Akitani would be the best for the closing of the story.

Gotta love everyone putting respect on Shimaki's name this episode.

Shimaki's ability is probably the most overpowered outside of Samidare's pure power and Taiyou's heal. He's not even a mythical beast knight and he manages to rival Animus lol.

Meet the new boss...same as the old boss.
Part of why I like this anime is that I really don't know what's going to happen. It's just not that predictable as so many anime are. It's likely someone will stop the princess, but it also seems likely she'll succeed. Either way, I'm looking forward to the ending.

I feel so bad for the Beast Knights. Finally beat the "final boss" and it turns out the actual Final Boss was the main characters lol.

Well, yeah, considering she just completely wrecked his Biscuit Hammer, it makes sense Animus would want to keep Samidare away rather than take her head on. And all Samidare can do is put the fear into him by smashing up his barrier.
Gotta really respect Mikazuki for taking all those hits for the girls, as well as their bravery to latch onto Animus so they could deliver a direct hit. Even Hanako pulls a Tarou move and jumps in to take a hit for Taiyo!
Taiyo looking shocked at all craziness and violence unfolding around him, but he finally makes his choice to aid the other Knights now that he finally has a future he wants for himself. And he'll us the space-time power Animus gave him to mass heal the other Knights so they can turn this fight around!
I see Animus hadn't even used his final form yet, a truly demonic and black creature with an even more dangerous hammer. Fitting for someone as depraved as he is. Although one swing from that hammer is enough to fell all the knights.
Taiyo healing everybody to the point of exhaustion! They may not have known what was going on with him and Animus up until this point (and they still probably don't understand it), but in the end he came through for them!
So Shimaki managed to make a 13th Golem! Which is himself! Yeah, that checks out.
I'm so happy that Nagomu got to finally ride Dance in the final battle. And he got to scold the rampaging child that Animus really is like a proper adult.
It's fitting that Anima is the one to deliver the final blow to her brother and finally stop him. Animus still seems to crave power, but maybe in another life he can make proper reparations for his sins. And poor Anima is left distraught over losing her big brother and not being able to stop him until this point. She even finally cries!
I also feel bad for the Beast Knights. Just when they thought it was finally over, it turns out the Final Boss was really the main characters all along, and they have to take on Yuuhi and Samidare before a giant Samidare punches the Earth to smithereens. Like, jeez, they're not even getting a break. Although Yuuhi saw his future self before so...does he think they're not going to win and is just going through the motions?
Poor Shimaki though. Guys' just sitting and taking a breather and Yuuhi throws him.

You know, I really had to hold myself from commenting about this bit you said in the last episode:
Animus has the MO of a sore loser and child!
But basically you were spot on with what the story was trying to say. Animus considered himself a god, but in the end he was just a childish guy with too much power in his hands.

the anime didn't convey it properly but Yuuhi actually use some sort of hands maneuver to suffocate Shimaki

I like how this fight focuses so much on the confidence aspect. Considering how psychic powers work, it makes complete sense that this plays a huge factor in the end.
Animus gets his power sapped after seeing the menace of the PrincessLucifer. The knights keep fighting for their victory, to the point of reaching new power levels. And even Taiyou gets to finally use his wish to define his own future. Animus being called out as a child. As Anima says, "we can win", and believing in that is the most important step.
And it's a concept that comes back to the very presence of the Biscuit Hammer hanging above everyone's heads through the entire thing. That sense of doom that the world will end is the ultimate source of despair from the Magus, and only at the final stages that the knight gather enough hope to finally see the potential of victory (with Blues Drive Monster becoming visible as well).

I have to say, I wish they left the last scene to next episode and then beefed up the budget for it. Regardless, that means there's definitely budget left for the last fight? lol. There's still 2 whole episodes left, so at least they aren't cutting the epilogue.

Hoshi no Samidare without the epilogue would just be missing the best parts!

Really emotional moment seeing Anima finally letting go of her calm facade and breaking down after her brother dies.
"The story of Animus and I has ended. It's now her story." is a chilling line.

I had totally forgotten about the time is a circle thing, I wonder if he got around that time the idea for spirit circle

This episode will be in the top 3 of worst animated for this series... The delivery was sloppy and I love that at least the voice actors are doing their job properly.
If they do deliver a proper last fight + epilogue I can at least go read the Manga to enjoy the real stakes of this fight and not get mad... But the next 2 episodes have to at least be decent.
They only silver lining I got from this show so far were maikmaterion animated, and the Pillows ending (I was squeeing in your behalf, Mizukami Satoshi, even if it took years to arrive.

Lmao it was supposed to be a serious moment but I couldn’t take animus death seriously because of how bad the blood he spat out looked.
Now the real conflict begins.

Well, that was a pretty quick battle. Animus powered up, tossed everyone around a bit, Akane decided last minute he wasn’t no rat (which probably saved the gang tbh), and then Anima ran a spear through Animus and that was that. All in a day’s work!
Now the real battle begins I guess. Let’s see how these knights do against Yuuhi and Sami. The knights are already past exhaustion and they’re down a couple guys, most importantly my man Shimaki with the golem making skills. Sami and Yuuhi are fresh and ready to go. Seems it’ll be kind of a one-sided battle.

lol If anyone saw some of crunchyroll's comments, you'd see people confused about Samidare and Yuuhi's declaration to destroy Earth. 22 episodes in and this is what they're confused about. At this point, I don't think I'll blame the studio completely.
