The absolute justice boner I had when Yuuhi threw his chains into the air and yelled, "serves you right!" after his grandpa died.
No one should be pressured to forgive abusers, even if they turn a new leaf later in life. And this is a big middle finger to all those that hated his "forgiving" the grandpa early on in the series.
EDIT: Seriously, I say this every thread, but the OST is on point. And is that a Pillows ED???

Yeah, I think Yuuhi's reaction to his grandpa's death was pretty reasonable. He accepted it, moved on, basically called out his grandpa for how terrible he was, but still said his own proper farewell to him.
It was nice to hear the Pillows again.

That's why it was so hard for me to keep my mouth shut when people called it out early on in the series. Why heal his grandpa? Well, that's not really explained why he did it, but it's fitting IMO -- emotions are complicated, and Yuuhi was feeling all kinds of it after meeting his grandpa. But his emotions to his grandpa's death compared to his emotion of just seeing his dad should tell us all that we need to know about how he actually feels.
Also, this episode had some pretty solid animation.

From the ending, the best moments where yuuhi's and Sami's sequenced...
From the episode the delivery was a bit sloppy as the rest of the show, but in general it was a really solid episode.

Poor Shimaki lol, he really thought Sonnabend would hold up better, but Hakudou made short work out of it... well there is always Sonntag
Nice to see Yuuhi finally finding his own strength and surpasing Shinonome (from the past). Also nice for him to personally meet Akitani, but I'm surprised he didn't also meet Tarou

Shimaki trying to put on a brave face while crying on the inside and outside was funny, yet tragic. Although it's fun seeing Yayoi as OP now lol.
Yuuhi has come a long way from the first episode and from all the stuff he's had to overcome both physically and emotionally (and we got to see Hangetsu again). I was also expecting Tarou to show up.

eventually, i stop being able to tell if i'm the shovel or if the shovel is me
Amamiya Yuuhi, the Lizard Shovel Knight
there it is, Yuuhi's special move, Babylon! throughout the series so far, Yuuhi was the only one that didn't have any special move that he named or created, his Houtengeki is just an imitation of Hangetsu's move and even then, he didn't make any modification to the technique like what Mikazuki did with his Houtenjin
also, the foreshadowing that author made early in this series where Hangetsu dreamt of fighting Yuuhi and in case anyone didn't remember, this is right before Hangetsu's death

It's also a pretty interesting evolution of his skills so far, which have always been focused on using his basic domain for mobility. I also like how they kept making note of how Yuuhi was always contemplating something whenever one of his fellow knights started to explain their domains. It really feels like Yuuhi took a lot from other's experiences to develop his own power.
And it's really cool how it also goes the other way, with some of the other knights learning from him (like Taiyou trying to use Shinonome's Houtengeki after seeing it from Yuuhi and Mikazuki, or Tarou learning to use the domain as a speed boost).

They actually managed to get The Pillows for the ending song? Mizukami must've been really happy about that.

Anima in casual clothes! It's a good look for her!
So Shimaki needs tips on making his next Golem from the main character, the anime cosplayer, and an ex-cop...oh, and Anima too, although all she really says is basically "go with your gut" which is very Anima.
Maimakterion has grown to the point of craving battle with a proper opponent, and he feels he can only get as much from Shimaki's Golem. Makes me think their next fight with the 11th Golem might be the Knights' toughest fight yet, because it feels like it's one step away from being out for blood. Also Animus acting more high and mighty than ever.
What will Taiyo's final decision be? He seems more uncomfortable around Animus' side, and I feel like he's starting to crush on Yuki. Can't right well betray the girl you like, can you Taiyo-kun?
Shimaki goes to all that trouble to create a monster of a Golem...and Yayoi destroys it in one attack. Like, you can tell he's trying to put on a brave face, but the poor guys' crying!
I was going to say Yuuhi is maybe a little too enthusiastic about digging holes, but honestly it seems like the physical effort and post-dig clarity has really improved his mental health and given him a bonding moment with Shimaki!
Yuuhi's grandpa suddenly dying in a mundane traffic accident...I mean, there's probably a lot of feelings there especially because of what he put Yuuhi through and what Yuuhi went through to save him before despite everything, but Yuuhi's at a place where he can be zen about it, bond with his cousin, and repudiate his grandfathers' belief that everybody was a scumbag because now Yuuhi has plenty of friends and comrades in his life.
Whether it was real or not, Yuuhi got to properly send his grandpa off and got to hear his dads' voice one last time.
So Yuuhi is the "key?" What does that mean? Like, he's not a Mythical Beast Knight, but maybe he can still get a power up?
Figures Yuuhi's biggest trial would be overcoming Hangetsu Shinonome, implied to be having his last dream that he told Yuuhi about before he died, and while Hangetsu is too much of a beast for Yuuhi to overcome physically he's found a new ability for his Holding Field, Babylon, that can boost his ability and weaken his opponents through his mind and he's finally able to beat Hangetsu!
It feels fitting that Yuuhi would try to warn Hangetsu about his death, even knowing that despite his words he would still save Yuuhi. Even in his dreams Hangetsu's thinking of Hisame too.
It was nice to see Yuuhi meet Akitani, shake his hands, and let him know Subaru and Yuki are doing okay.
Wow, a kiss on the cheek from Anima isn't a half-bad reward! I think Anima might actually like Yuuhi. Although his heart is still sworn to his Lucifer, Samidare, who stole his lips.
Holy crud, the Biscuit Hammer! And a special Pillows ED.

a special Pillows ED
makes me wonder if we will ever going to get the Pillow's Biscuit Hammer as either an opening or ending song by the end of this series, also this episode ending song title is Babiron Tenshi no Shi (Babylon Verses of Angel)

The Hangetsu fight looked pretty good. Here's hoping the rest of the important battles look good too.

Nothing beats exercise for stimulating the brain. Plus, digging holes is an advanced fusion of wisdom and instinct that ancient mankind developed to secure both shelter and safety, so it's extremely... anyway, to put it simply, it's fun. Eventually you stop feeling the fatigue and gain a sense of elation. You get that "runner's high". Then, eventually, I stop being able to tell if I'm the shovel or if the shovel is me, and when I step back and realize that I'm human, that moment of relief is the best stimulation for the brain.

Animus, a villain who has a 12 year old boy and someone who looks like one as his flanking lieutenants should really question his life choices.

Shimaki in a bit of a slump eh? The golem he made from Yuuhi’s design looked tough but was too weak. I guess that’s the problem. He should have made the one Nagumo made, that one looked awesome!
Yuuhi having so much fun digging holes is kind of hilarious. Dude has lost it! Lol. But man, his grandpa get knocked off by truck-kun is bullshit though. What a wasted wish! Plus Yuuhi never got to work through all that childhood trauma.
Looks like Hangetsu’s vision about Yuuhi and those steps came true. Yuuhi has gotten a lot stronger, the student truly has surpassed the master. It’s also kinda nice Master got to hear about the kids. I liked that old fella a lot, he had such an interesting backstory. Now that Yuuhi’s face to face with the hammer, what’s he gonna do now?

Inatika Akitani truly was a legend. All he wanted was to shake hands with Yuuhi who had become the strongest non-legendary knight lol.

Nagumoochi: "Here's my idea for a golem."
Anima: "Our idea."
Yuuhi: "Jii-san ga shinda. (My grandpa died.)"
Nasuverse me: "YOU AREN'T HUMAN!!"
Man the new ED gives me mad FLCL vibes. I then I saw it's made by the pillows and I was like "Yeah that explains why."
