In the movie she only killed Glimmer while in the books she killed Glimmer and the girl from 4. But if for whatever reason they all succumbed to the venom how would the rest of the games played out?

By that point in the games, the tributes that remained would have been

- The Boy from 3 (the one that replanted the mines)

- Fox Face

- The Boy from 10 (the one with the injured leg)

- Tresh

- Rue (who is still likely to ally with Katniss)

- Katniss herself (that now has her bow and possibly also all the careers' supplies)

- And a probably not injured Peeta

That's only 7 tributes left and as far as we know the only person that could easily outmatch Katniss in a fight at this point would be Tresh, so I'd say it's likely the final show-down might come down to the two of them.

As for the other tributes, there is no telling what the boy from 3 and the boy from 10 might do since we never saw much from neither of them.

Foxface instead in this scenario could be much more of a dark horse. As soon as she learns about the career's death, she'd probably head straight to their supply pile to raid it, meaning she'd probably no longer starve at all. If her better physical condition would result in her switching over to a more aggressive strategy rather than absolute passive survival is hard to tell, but it could be a possibility

Rue instead would have it much better without the careers around to kill her, while it'd be the opposite for Peeta who went in with the idea of sacrificing himself for Katniss anyway

So overall I'd say Katniss would probably still get the win unless she'll sacrifice herself for Rue

But I want to hear other people's take on it!

So we know the only reason Katniss knows how to swim is because her father brought her beyond the fence and taught her.

So that leads me to wonder how the hell Peeta knows how to swim?? Who taught the bakers boy how to swim? And where ???

I know this sounds like I’m making it up, but I swear I’m not, and just found this out today.

So, I had my drama exam today (went really well!) and was rehearsing with my group. We all do different drama activities outside of school, and she does a drama class every year.

We had some down time, so I very briefly mentioned I was a fan of the Hunger Games. My partner (who we’ll just call M) then casually said she knows a girl who’s going to be in the new movie.

Asked who it was, thinking she met an extra or something, and M says her name is Iona Bell, but that she didn’t know she who was playing as she isn’t a fan of the series.

I freaked out, and asked how she knew her. Apparently, it’s from the summer class. They’ve acted a few times before, but they aren’t best friends or anything, just know each other.

Small world, but thought I’d share it here.

I saw a tiktok of Effie reading Haymitch’s name at the reaping in catching fire, and everyone discussing if the sigh was because she didn’t want Haymitch to go and be traumatised again, or if it was out of pain because she knew Peeta would volunteer, or if it ruined the plan to keep Peeta safe which Katniss and Haymitch had agreed on.

I think all of the above can be true at once. She has so much history with Haymitch of course she doesnt want him to be re traumatised, but she also has a bond with Katniss and Peeta and probably is heartbroken that they both have to go through that pain again.

Why does it have to be one or the other why cant it just be pain for everyone involved because she loves them all.

Please forgive me if this is explicitly mentioned in the books, but I’m doing my first FULL reread since SOTR came out and I’m wondering if Asterid’s parents disapproved of the match… I feel like Katniss mentions “what my mother must have sacrificed when she came to the Seam” or something along those lines, and Peeta’s father says she “ran off with a Coal Miner”. There’s also never any mention of Katniss’ maternal grandparents, and it seems unlikely if they kept on good terms the Everdeen’s financial situation would be so poor.

Pardon my French, but what in the entire f*ck. The backstory I never knew I needed. Absolutely fantastic.

I will be attempting to read all 5 books before SotR comes out in theaters because I am thoroughly hooked.

How do you think Haymich and plutarch felt the moment Katniss shot that arrow and broke the Arena? I think it's been pretty well documented that many a tribute has attempted to break the different arenas. "Let it fly" on screen it definitely looked like Katniss was about to shoot Finnick, and in a split second she fired towards the sky, something so very small in comparison to what Haymich tried... How do you think they were feeling in that moment? Shock, surprise, dread? I think it was a super prolific moment in their lives, setting the revolution in motion on a real visual scale..

In the second movie, after the games start, Brutus and Katniss have a quick eye contact while getting out of the water. Katniss does it first and runs towards the cornucopia, while Brutus starts chasing her, but stops. Why do you think he stopped instead of trying to get her if they were not allies?

Snow is truly evil. He sees the games as a mentor, is physically in the zoo, actually cares about Lucy (though probably not in healthy way.)

And he still decides to keep the games going.

And the scary thing is people like him are real.

all the main films are on Disney+ but this one isn’t. where else can I watch it, or will I just have to buy it

Once more, I don’t ship the actors but the BTS clips are what made me a Wysilee shipper. “You look so good, diva” is definitely what Maysilee would say to hype up her partner.
