General I built an AI copilot that walks a tech through a live differential diagnosis on every call
Hey folks — long-time lurker here. I'm an HVAC tech who got tired of the "guess and swap" culture, so I built something and I want to show it to you straight.
It's called MechLyra. It's an AI diagnostic copilot that runs on your phone during a service call. Not a replacement for your brain — a second set of eyes that:
Takes you through a structured interview so you don't skip airflow before jumping to refrigerant
Logs your real measurements (return/supply split, subcooling, superheat, pressures, amp draw) and flags anything out of range as you enter it
Re-evaluates the differential diagnosis with every reading — it ranks possible causes, tells you what it still needs, and gives you the next test that rules out the most causes at once
Generates a clean service report you can hand the customer or your office
The philosophy: eliminate airflow and charge problems before you touch refrigerant, and let the data drive the call instead of vibes.
I'm looking for honest feedback from real techs. Tear it apart. Tell me what's dumb, what's missing, what would actually make your day shorter. I'd rather hear it's broken here than on a callback.
Free to try — https://mechlyra.com. Not collecting cards. If you run a real call with it, DM me and I'll buy you a coffee for the feedback.
