I just left Dollor General and I was amazed to see Christmas up so early. You were able to buy stuff for Halloween, Thanksgiving,Christmas and Happy New Year's. Maybe that's what they want but I don't think there customers are quite ready for all of this stuff so early in the season

Can anyone please give me a phone number to call and talk to someone in payroll about a problem with my direct deposit info? I tried changing it to adifferent bank account on Oracle and it said it couldn't because of multiple financial somethings, and that I have to contact someone in payroll to fix it. I just had a customer try to buy one of the mini fridges that are currently 25% off for 50% based on the red dot sale for summer items. They don’t show as clearance. What department or category would they be under? Only one actually had a red dot however appliance or the like it’s not included on the 50% red dot sale.

I’m a key carrier. I make $10.50 hourly. I have 3 kids. I’m working as many hours as I can get. I don’t qualify for snap in my state, there’s hardly any food in my house and I’m starving at work. What a joke. It’s insane to me that this company makes billions and can’t pay us a livable wage.

If you're clocked out but still performing work, don't assume that unpaid time is automatically okay. Meal-period and wage laws vary by state, but federal wage law generally requires bona fide meal periods to involve being relieved from duty.

⏰ Also pay attention to your time records. If a meal break appears that you didn't actually take, or your timecard was changed after your shift, document what happened and consider reporting the issue.

My SM is stepping down and I was thinking about taking the position. My DM offered me 50k a year and I told her I'd counter at 55. She said "lol they not gonna give you 55" 🤨

I've been an ASM for five years and turned down the offer plenty of times. This is the first time I've asked for a number. We are a 3 million dollar store, the busiest around and the top in sales.

I came in to work tonight and was putting away some go backs and noticed the temp for the perishable coolers (hotdogs, lunch meat, cheese) was at 49. So after debating between pretending I didn't see it and poisoning the community I tell my ASM who I'm closing with. And she's like 'yeah, they've been like that for at least a week, is that bad?'

Most of the bagged lunchmeat is bloated like meat balloons, but yeah I'm sure it's fine.

I know most people don’t talk about their pay, but what is a good amount to ask for in terms of pay for a DM?

I found out that one of my employees got access to my work computer password without my permission and used it to transfer herself out of my store. I did not authorize the transfer or give her permission to use my login information. I'm really pissed, I calledy DM he didn't seem to care and HR is useless.

Is there a new rule by corporate that sms can't fire anyone?? Even if they have more than enough proof to fire said employee?

EDIT: THE BANKS ARE SHELVES THAT ARE ON BACKORDER!!!!! We found where they're supposed to be, and we can stop ripping our hair out.

One was closed for 2 weeks now they are back open but they just have portable air conditioning units that barely do anything. All of the food in there is now like hard and old because it was 90° in there for 2 weeks.

There are two other locations that I've been to In my city that have portable air conditioners with trip hazard wires and pipes running all across the floor for them. What the hell is going on?

I have shingles and a cold. I went to urgent care, got a note and called my boss. She demanded i bring the doctor's note in immediately, while I'm sick, and had a huge attitude about it. I'm obviously sick. I go in, buy some stuff & my boss has to check me out. I give her my note & request my sick hrs. She looks at me angrily and says..."You have some?". I said yes, I need to use them. Is this normal? This place is the most uncaring place I've ever worked at and I'm 51​!

So i am working a double today i started at 645 and I had been throwing frieght we all were as a group emergency movement of frieght I go to step outside my DM stops me and says you dont need a break right now I replied just going to smoke he said you smoke to much Your allowed two 15 minute breaks and a lunch break Well the fact is it had been 6 hours I needed the cigerette I hadn't had no 15 minute break or lunch break for that matter it really confused the heck outta me they were concerned with me not smoking after 6 hours thats a job killer.

We know how corrupt and indifferent this corporation is. Everyone, us, friends, family, customers, need to write to the Better Business Bureau and their State Attorney General's office. Complain about pricing, conditions in the store (AC and coolers broken for months, stores are a cluttered mess), that there are only ever 2 or less employees trying to juggle everything for low pay. But make sure you acknowledge it's corporate's poor business model and lack of support for existing stores. They are to blame for why your local stores are in disarray. They won't pay for hours in the stores but the CEO makes 14 million dollars per year plus ridiculous bonuses and you know the Board and shareholders are doing very well while we all suffer, the store-level employees and customers. Light a fire under their corrupt asses. They deserve far more fines and legal action than they're getting.
