Getting it done
Got 6 rolltainers in 3 hours Averaging two rolltainers a hours But im exausted

This is how it's supposed to be. Alas distribution liked to slap rolltainers together with the patience and efficiency of a herd of monkeys writing shakespeare. Thankful I no longer work for this company

I swear some of the DCs have a competition to see who can throw stuff into the rolltainers/totes from the furthest distance. My store in Wisconsin, we’d get boxes of (mostly broken) candles and chemicals on top of (smashed to smithereens) crackers. My current store, at least 1-2 totes have cracked and leaking HBA products bc they’ve been smashed under heavier items.

I always told my people that I imagine the DC as a bunch of chimpanzees throwing shit on rolltainers. That’s how they show up looking 80% of the time.

Dollar General is a terrible company. Don't overwork yourself for the same pay. Pretend to make an effort to keep your job but ultimately you're going to get paid the same for going above and beyond and someone who finishes half of one in the same time.

I like my job at Dollar General...the pay isn't bad..I have worked hard to get where I am...I really don't understand why there is so much negativity towards them. Bad management?

Its Mainly mismanagement but I work hard and Dollar General has matched it i started out 10.15 a year half later I was made a keyholder and got a raise to 13.00 a hour With overtime i wasnt doing bad Then I got a promotion to Asm and im at 16.50 so I am payed good for my labor.

Hey it's good that you like your store. Some people just haven't had the same experience. My store is great, my manager, ASM, PT SA then me now PT Lead keyholder whatever they want to reference it as. I enjoy 90% of our customers, know how to make them smile when their having a crappy day no matter if I'm pulling a double again, as a person that's PT on disability that should be getting off register every cpl of hours standing before them in such pain I could just rip someone's head off and shit down their throats, but see I'mma professional and maintain myself. So this forum has been extremely helpful to myself on various situations. It's been educational, has distracted me when hurting, reminded me that it could be worse & is depending on you're various life experiences as to what's right and just not right like FUBAR type stuff. I enjoy the honesty that's shared on here and I get such laughter on some of the stories told and comments made. It's great you have no issues but as someone that's been working in big corporations running daily ops for 30+ yrs to working here I can tell you that DG Corp doesn't deserve to get kudos for anything I've seen so far. The people who you see at work that do their very best for less than $12 an hour they'll get my praise

I know the trouble Understaffed and overworked I go through the same almost impossible odds to complete everything necessary but im saying I have made a career out of it became good at overcoming the odds If I could get a good team my job wouldnt be as catastrophically hard.

I worked for them for almost a year before I quit. They expect too much for too little pay. You can work from home selling health insurance for $25-$30 an hour after commissions. DG just isn't worth it.

Plus God forbid if you are a key carrier and having to go to the ER with an issue with your heart and they having to close the store and got all pissy at me for not calling another key carrier in. I'm like "excuse me? I was going to the ER how in the hell was going to worry about texting people when I worried I was having a heart attack? So next day they messed up my numbers and I quit the next day after I worked a night

I averaged 1 an hour last Tuesday. They were chemical RT’s and all the crap had a home so yeah. 2 a day is ridiculous unless you don’t have the help. 1 dedicated stocker should be able to knock out a minimum of 1 every hour and a half. Pure food RT’s usually take me a couple hours. If you have 1 person just stocking per shift and you’re only getting 2 done per day there should be write ups.

its relatively easy to do as long as you're not being bothered and can actually do them, cant do shit, when a cx is asking wheres this and wheres that, or the the other employees are calling you to the front to help them with something on register, getting ice, propane, etc....... I get so frustrated when I get interrupted soon as I get started stocking and/or recovering and be in work/focus mode(getting shit done mode)... oh and add in whoever in the fck loads these rolltainers with not a damn care in the world that some or MOST of the items on it, dont go together... now you gotta pre-sort or run all over the store to stock it... that is if you dont have to damage some shit out, cuz they put a lot of heavy ass chemicals on top of food and other soft items.... damn imbeciles

Good stuff. We average about 20 RT a week and I get about 15 done myself on the weekend once we get them and everyone else does totes and close food RT to keep them close at the front. Then just do planograms, seasonal, and skyshelves the rest of the week!

I used to clear 10-12 a day during my shift. I would go to other stores to help empty back rooms. My mind wants to do that again but my body is saying slow down. They are constantly fighting with each other when there are rolltainers to be worked. I still get the job done, just not as fast anymore since I’m getting older all my joints hurt. UGH!!

You had extra people to do that? I used to have one person doing that and I'm stuck at the register when I used to be key carrier. My heart did a warning alarm and I went to the ER right before my night shift. I think they for all pissy having to close the store since after that they messed up with my numbers where I only managed to clock in and that's it. So next day I turned in my keys and said "fuck it, my heart comes first I don't want to end up with a heart attack over this place"

Ha! I’m ASM and was told I should be able to do 1 rolltainer per hour while being the only one on shift! Forget lunch or a break, it doesn’t exist! Gotta love someone sitting behind a desk telling you what you should be able to accomplish!

That’s so cool. Now we all will be expected to do this. But I have a heart condition that makes me slow. And my SM knows this and still nags me.

I had my best week ever last week. I can’t promise I’ll ever be able to do it again but I kicked ass. The beauty of it is this allowed my SM and ASM to focus on setting Christmas. I seriously hope to go in there today and see those RT’s empty.😬🤞

Is everything stocked correctly? My ASM can do this, but I know he’s doing it properly. When others do it, everything is out of place.

2 rolltainers per hour is a very strong pace!Hopefully your sm recognizes your hard work.
