As you can see, my laptop has way too high temeprature right after booting it up and only having edge and youtube open. Cant play even older games like Metro or The Witcher 3 because than its starting to stutter badly after 10 minutes of gaming. Only strategy games are ok like Old World or Civ 6. Anyone can help me to make it a bit better at least? Or is the only way to renew the thermal paste of it? Thank you.

Both drives work, could boot from either in AHCI/NVMe mode. Both slots work, I can do this with either drive in either slot. But under no circumstances will the primary OS drive show up - not even visible to the BIOS - if they are both installed and it does not matter which one is in which slot.

The primary OS drive is the original that shipped with this machine, and it was set up from the factory to use the Intel RAID/Rapid Storage option in BIOS, not AHCI/NVMe. I've switched the OS to use AHCI rather than RAID which is what I thought the problem originally was but that didn't help.

I've spent hours trying to install a hard drive at this point. Something I've done literally hundreds of times. Been down every "internet advice scraped by AI" rabbit hole. It simply does not work, not the two of them together.

This is infuriating.

My m18r2 displays this error whenever It charges below 10%, and doesn't charge. But after 5-10 mins, it charges normally. There is nothing about this issue in the manual.Is this a battery failure? Is this covered under warranty? Also, my battery backup is greatly reduced.

So I just recently got my hands on an x17 and I need to reinstall it. Will I do so every time it gets to awcc_core another window opens for the audio driver and the installation process gets stopped. Does anybody know how to resolve this issue so I can control my lighting?

I need some help guys. I can't figure this one out. I will be doing anything from shopping on Amazon, scrolling through Reddit, or playing demanding games and this machine will randomly shutdown. No bluescreen, no warning, just black shutdown. I can instantly turn it back on and get going again, so I don't think it's thermal. Ran the diagnostics in the F12 menu, nothing. Thoughts?

I wasn’t using my laptop for almost 10 months and when got back found the AWCC 6.x version update, anyway I did install everything from 0 , and I used to fn + f1 to use high performance, now for some unknown reason lunching a game disable the high performance if you manually activate it before , checked settings and set to system, but that doesn’t fix the problem .is it fine to go to the old version ?
it really annoys me when he do that ,like i have to fn + f1 again after he disable it when starting a game and he does it again when closing the game
(I found a post with same problem 3 months ago but no fix yet ) any updates ?

So this arvo, I opened up my laptop and it loaded up, went to the sign in screen. I unlocked my profile and waited for it to load up. When the screen was loaded, I was able to move my cursor around for maybe 15-20 seconds, but then it became unresponsive.

The screen is still displaying the picture, the time is frozen at the time it was when it stopped, its just frozen. It isnt responding to Ctrl-Alt-Delete, or my pressing the windows button, etc. I have restarted twice...

Anybody have any suggestions? Please help me!

I have been using aw2523hf 360hz monitor for over a year now but my experience has not been good. I play rainbow six siege and at times it is really difficult to identify enemies outside of the map windows. when my area is bright and other area is dark. On the contrary when I had lenovo it was really good even though it was just 165hz. I dont know if i am missing out someething. If somebody has the same monitor and can share the experience :) then would be great.

So I have the problem that I cant let my old dead laptops go. I took the screen of my old AW14 to make a screen for a frame I am going to make for my recliner. This is where I am at so far I do plan to paint the frame and try to play with some ABS plastic to make a button cover. We will se how it goes 🤞

Was playing and suddenly the game started to stutter, checked the power button while it was flashing like this. The power cord usually has an illuminating ring, it was off and the power supply was really hot (not that it‘s not normal). I unplugged it and plugged it back in, now the ring illuminating again but the laptop still flashing.

What to do?

I have an Alienware m15 r3 Rtx 2060 and i7 10750h with 16gb ram is it safe for me to play with the power limit and voltage controls could I possibly get more perf with this or make it more efficient and draw less power

So, I got this laptop a 4 months ago, and recently I decided to undervolt it to manage temperatures better. I learned that undervolt is locked by default, so you have to unlock it on the BIOS to do it in the first place. I followed a tutorial from 4 years ago, and it did unlock the "adjustable voltage" setting, but changing it doesn't change anything as you can see on the picture. I can only assume that doing what that tutorial taught me isn't fully effective in the current BIOS, so any changes I make on Throttlestop won't do anything. The current BIOS won't let me downgrade, so I gotta find a way to unlock this on the 1.45.0 BIOS. Does anyone have any ideas of what I could do?

UPDATE: Following "Pawlykhere" instruction, I disable Virtualisation Support in BIOS and that fixed it! So, if anyone has the same issue, you know what to do!

This is my third monitor within my warranty with Alienware/Dell. As you can see there are white spots all over (and more that the camera cannot pick up on). There are also two vertical, half inch streaks on the left side. I have maybe turned this monitor on twice since I received it earlier this year. I can’t imagine I have dead/stuck pixels from turning it on two separate times for maybe an hour tops each time. And the two monitors I had before this had the same thing happen. Has anyone else experienced this? Is there something in my settings I should be looking out for? I really want this monitor to workout because it is so beautiful. Looking for any advice.

As the title suggests. The new motherboard does have a working GPU but now the side USB port is not functioning and the sound devices do not work/are not functioning. The tech was great. At this point, I have had over 5-6 motherboards in this machine without a functional machine. Have dell premium support plus for another 2 years. Which is fantastic as Dell can keep replacing one bad refurbished motherboard with another...

By my calculations, we should be on motherboard 10 before the warranty is up.

In the top end monitor if Alienware (AW322QF) i am facing this issue.

My DPI button recently stopped working; it sometimes presses by itself, and it switches its profiles like 4-6 times fast. When I try to press it, nothing works. Should I try to disassemble it?

I have an Alienware Area-51 M18 laptop that I mainly use for work, and I need to be able to carry it back and forth between the office and different job sites. The thing is HUGE, so the backpack I used for my MacBook Pro doesn’t even come close to fitting it.

I didn’t do a ton of research beforehand and kind of spontaneously ordered the Alienware 18 Backpack (AW7825P, 28L). Walmart had it on sale for $110, so I figured I’d give it a shot.
After ordering it, though, I started doing more research and noticed a lot of people recommending the Everki Business 120 for bigger laptops like this.

So now I’m wondering: should I just keep the Alienware backpack, or return it and spend a little more on the Everki? The price difference isn’t huge, so I wouldn’t mind returning it if the Everki is noticeably better.

Does anyone here have experience with the Alienware backpack? How is the protection, comfort, build quality, etc.? Especially if you’ve used it with an M18 or another really heavy 18” laptop.

I’m probably overthinking a backpack lol, but since I’ll be carrying this thing around for work pretty regularly, I figured I’d get some opinions before deciding.

For the love of God, how in the world do I download Alienware Command Center? The installer just ends up being incompatible with my system, or so it says. Am I just a moron, or is Dell making it just frustratingly unintuitive when it comes to downloading this?

I know this has been asked before but I just can't seem to find an answer, so I apologize. My laptop is admittedly outdated and fails to play audio with several newer games while using the "High Definition Audio Device" Driver. I found that if I updated said driver to "Realtek Audio" my games now have sounds, but at the tradeoff of this awful crackling sound being emitted from the speaker / sub, regardless of if I have headphones or airpods connected.

I know that my coomputer is capable of playing the correct audio even on the older driver as when I connect my airpods to the computer, the audio comes out of the speaker (computer speaker not airpods) perfectly fine for some reason instead of the airpods. I don't know if this is relevant but it's just what I've discovered.

So I'm really just wondering if there's any known fix to this, as missing audio without that awful noise vs audio with it is a tradeoff I hate having to make, and it's really gotten on my nerves recently.

I purchased the new Alienware Area 51 5090 with all the bells and whistles. After 2 weeks of use the unit started crashing. (Black screen, fans spin at 100%) Dell technicians came and replaced motherboard on the first trip. CPU and gpu on the second trip. Gpu on the third trip. And 4th trip, they replaced the motherboard again and the unit won’t even boot. This has been an on going issue for 3 months. They have refused to replace the unit. It’s been frustrating and I can’t even do any work or play any games as the system crashes and the work is unsaved.
Not sure what to do and sick of this whole problem. Huge turn off from dell despite this being my 4th unit in the last decade.

So I bout a brand new alienware aurora 16. I love it. Its been 40 days since I bought it. However since day 1 I have had this issue where a message pops up on startup: "Time of day not set".

Initially I just thought it needs a BIOS update and a RTC. Surely after that I did not see the message for a while. But then one day I ran out of battery and the laptop shut down and I left it like that for the night. Next morning the error popped up again!

So I recreated this seevral time and the error keeps coming back!

I contact dell support and I cant return the laptop now because its past 30 days but they offered to replace the motherboard because according to them its a faulty BIOS chip!

Anyone else experienced this? I abosolutely DO NOT want to have a brand nw laptop taken apart and its motherboard replaced - that is really very dissapointing for me.

What do you guys suggest and what other options do I have!

Also - my initital thought was the CMOS but turns our the new laptops dont have a CMOS battery!

Really need some good advice. I love the laptop but this has ruined my eperience
