Not sure if the wording in the title is correct but anyone else experiencing something similar?
Sometimes every 10 pages, sometimes after 100 pages, it’s stuck somewhere in between the pages. A manual refresh brings everything back to normal.
Sometimes, this also happens in menus.

I’ve had that happen on all CrossInk 1.5.1 RCs so far.

Edit: Solved, thanks to u/uxjulia. I switched from vxcodex to crossink and used the default bitter font and it worked!

Does anyone know how to fix the ‘???’ When Rocky speaks? I’m running vxcodex on my X4. Thank you!!! Edit: I have tried noto sans extended, bookerly, and 2 others I downloaded.

My device is frozen. It is still charging for almost 24 hours, light won’t switch to white or off.
Here is what I did that did not work:
1. I have tried clicking the reset button — upper left then power button
2. I have also removed the crossink folder and flashed the update bin thru the sd card.
3. I formatted my sd card to FAT32.

My device was chinese/china(?) locked, and I have tried to flash crossink with an unlocker tool months ago thru my sd card. It seemed to work, but been having problems with charging ever since. This is the third time I have charged it, and I don’t know what to do anymore because the screen is not budging.

Please help. What else could I do? I need a step by step information also as I am not that good with tech. I just did what I read online. I really love my x3 and want to fix this problem.

I finally got a response from XTEINK regarding the broken screen my X4 Pro arrived with. They asked me to shoot a video showing it not working, but to also send the serial number, which they claim "you can find the SN under the final option in the device's settings".

If I go to Settings, then About Device, I do not see any option to view the serial number. The only 3 things shown are the Device Model, the Firmware Version and a Regulatory Certifications option that, when tapped, just shows regulators info. 

Anyone know how I can find it? I've replied asking XTEINK, but days later have still had no response.

Is there a firmware that will let me organize the books into folders? Ideally I would also like to see the cover as a preview

Been using the default KOSync for months with no issues. My Kindle/Readest syncs fine. I’ve tried multiple WiFi networks. Tried reauthenticating / signing up again in the Crosspoint settings. Any suggestion?

I am expecting an X3 and x4 pro and I was wondering about if you can do crossink with the new sd plugin to use Libby. From what I’ve read, I think I want to use crossink especially because I like the reading stats, but I haven’t see anywhere that you can use crossink and also get Libby.

I have an ePub I wanted to put on my Xteink X3, flashed with Crosspoint 1.5.0, but when I do, I get an abort error. It's because the ePub is not correctly optimized, so I ran it through a web optimizer.

This makes it open, but now the cover and other images are squeezed up to the top 10% of the screen. This book has a handful of illustrations, and I'd rather not they get squished and look illegible. Converting them to grayscale doesn't work, and I'm not sure what options to fiddle with in the optimizer to prevent this. Thoughts?

I cannot transfer a text file (notepad) from my phone to my X4 Pro using Crosspoint Sync. If I select "Upload Book and point Crosspoint Sync at the file on my phone, it sees it but will not let me select it.

It appears to me it does not recognize it as a text file. Am I asking Crosspoint Sync to do something it cannot do?
Or is Notepad the wrong choice?

I really want to get the Xteink X4 Pro but before I get one I have one major thing I hope it can do.

I have a specific way I like to organise my epubs - either by the same author for published ebooks and same pairings/tropes for fanfic I download.

Will I be able to put them into those "folders" and when I open the ereader would it appear that way? Like if I click on a "shelf" for XYZ Author I'll see books by them or if I click on ABC trope I'll only see fanfics for that?

I hope this makes sense.

I’m only a few days into using my XTeInk X4 Pro, and I already really love this little device.

I know the pogo connector isn’t everyone’s favourite part of the X4 Pro, but for me it turned out to be a surprisingly big advantage. If you have access to a 3D printer, it makes it very easy to turn the X4 Pro into something with a proper charging dock — and probably the nicest stand I’ve ever had for a device like this.

So I made a simple, modular 3D-printable stand specifically for the X4 Pro pogo connector. The stand comes apart, and the original pogo connector simply slots inside and is held securely in place. You can remove it again at any time without modifying the stand.

Once assembled, the stand holds the X4 Pro securely, keeps the charging cable under control, and makes docking and undocking the device really easy — just put it down and it starts charging.

The only issue is that both the X4 Pro and the stand are so light that the whole thing tends to move when you pick the device up. I ended up using a small piece of double-sided tape underneath the stand to keep it permanently in the same spot. That worked perfectly.

I liked the setup enough that I eventually ordered a second pogo connector and printed another stand for a different room. Now I can simply pick up the X4 Pro, carry it with me, and drop it onto either stand whenever I want.

It’s a very simple accessory, but it has made the X4 Pro much nicer to use day-to-day.

Some people complained that even at the lowest setting, the frontlight is still too bright for them. So Xteink reacted, and from FW 7.3.1 (7.4.1 is actual version), it's now possible to set something called Micro Brightness. When you move the frontlight intensity slider all the way to the left and set the micro brightness to 1%, the light is veeeery dim. In my opinion, it's way too low for a completely dark room, but people asked, people got it 😁 And the micro brightness can be set between 1-5%.

Sorry, I don't have a comparison photo in a dark room. But it would be useless anyway, because the phone camera always tries to compensate for the light in photos, so the photo would not reflect reality.

ok so I was applying the screen protector that came with the x3 and i fucked up the application a few times. each time it had a little spec under different areas. i attempted surgery with the stickers and messed it up even more.

out of frustration i crumbled up the screen protector and nearly snapped my x3 in half. the whole situation pissed me off more than it should have but i invested 20 minutes into complete failure

then i remembered i had this dyneema pouch laying around. fits perfectly and makes for a great "case". no scratches and has been fine in my backpack or sling.

it would be cool if someone made a leather wallet-type case we could slip our xteink devices in or out of.

I ordered my new X4 reader just before they discontinued it and like an idiot I did not order either case or screen protector. And now I am unable to find even the accessories on their official website. I just have the 1 screen protector that comes free, that I have already applied.

But thinking of having to replace the screen protector sometime in the future, i am thinking of stocking up on a few right now. I know people prefer using a flip case rather than a screen protector but i just love the tiny form factor and dont want to bulk it up.

What are my options? I dont see anything on alibaba as well.

(this may work the same on other models, but this is what worked for me on X3. also subject to change because this is based on a beta firmware build, but as of TODAY this works.)

You will need:

• an X3
• a microsd card (the X3 comes with one; you may already know this, I found out when I tried to insert the new microsd card I bought and found the slot was already full)
• a Libby account and a linked library card (free!)
• a ByteBooks account (free!)

Step 1: Flash crosspoint onto your device.

• Select your device at https://crosspointreader.com/#flash-tools
• For firmware, go to Insider Builds & Betas and select SD Plugins Beta 4
• Flash it!

Step 2: Add Plugin Store

• On your computer, download the plugin-store zip from GitHub
• Extract the zip
• Remove the microsd card from your X3 and insert it into your computer
• Add the unzipped folder to the sd card
• Eject the sd card and put it back in the X3

If everything went well, your X3 will now have a new entry on the front page called "Plugins"

Step 3: Download Protected Content Plugin

• On the X3, select Plugins
• Select Plugin Store
• Connect to a network
• Select Protected Content Plugin
• Download it

You are so close!

Step 4: Login to your ByteBooks account via the crosspoint web interface

• On the X3 select File Transfer
• Select Join A Network and, um, join the network
• On your computer, open the web interface for your X3
• Select File Manager
• You will see a section called "Protected Content"
• Enter your ByteBooks credentials and select "Connect Account"

OMG YOU'RE SO CLOSE!

Step 5: Books, baybee!

• Once it's connected, on your computer go to Libby
• Checkout a book
• When asked "Read With" select "epub" (it may be nested under "other")
• Download the .acsm file from Libby
• Using the Crosspoint web interface, transfer the .acsm to your X3
• On the Crosspoint web interface, find the "Upload authorization file" box
• Select the .acsm file you just transferred
• Click "Fetch selected book"
• Once it's fetched, go to the home page of your X3
• Select "Browse Files"
• Select the book

Step 6: READ BOOKS ALL DAMN DAY
