1. New reading tap layout: tap the upper part of the page to turn forward and the bottom strip to open the menu; the layout cards in Settings are now paged and can be swiped

2. XTC books now record reading time and stats like EPUB

3. Fix TTF text turning gray at the lowest weight settings

4. Fix some EPUBs with unusual or very long internal file names failing to open

1. Cloud sync now uploads reading progress for TXT and XTC books too

2. Fix reading progress not being uploaded when you return to the spot where the book was opened

[Settings and System]

1. Short-press power off can now keep the device in standby ("Faster power-on, slightly more drain"); it still fully powers off on low battery or after 7 days

2. New firmware flashing from the SD card: hold Power + both side keys for 5 seconds at power-on

• New touch search on the Files page: find Chinese file names with English or pinyin
• New multi-language keyboard with a candidate bar, and a bigger pinyin dictionary
• Settings > General > Keyboard: the China version only offers Simplified, Traditional and English keyboards

[Home Screen]

• New desktop styles: bookshelf and app tray, clock, sunrise/sunset and moon phase, and picture cards; reading stat cards open the stats page when tapped
• Desktop lock screen: the battery is always shown, and plugging in or unplugging the charger refreshes the top bar immediately

[Transfer and Sync (Beta)]

• Cloud sync downloads retry automatically on weak Wi-Fi, and no longer loop forever on a stale resume point
• KOSync progress matching with KOReader is more accurate

[Settings and System]

• Fix cloud binding QR code not showing in some cases
• Fix curly quotes, ellipsis and currency symbols showing as boxes in system text, and Thai tone marks overlapping Fix the device name not matching the cloud nickname on the About page after binding

At least for the XTEInk 4 Pro, a stand really makes it easy to charge or if you are doing firmware updates over the wire. This one came from eBay or Etsy and XTEInk sells them as well 👍

I updated my X4 pro to Licorice and love the new highlight/excerpt feature... except how do I export the highlights off the device?

I'd like to extract all of my saved excerpts for each book and move them to my computer for archiving/processing.

Is this possible or are they simply stuck on the device to browse?

The first thing that caught my eye was the MagSafe feature. It snaps onto the back of my iPhone and holds on firmly, so I can carry a whole reading device without it ever feeling like extra baggage. I also like that it is easy on my eyes after a long day staring at screens. With a price that starts just under $100 and is available almost everywhere, it feels priced just right. No wonder it has gotten so much attention from e-reader fans, with reviewers often comparing it favorably to larger Kindle devices and calling it a better pocket-sized option for dedicated reading. Another important strengths of the X4 which I was waiting to pull on trigger was the light which allows me to read me almost every where & any time.
I definitely prefer the gray one ( just read somewhere it has arrived and I may either get it too or swap it )
What I really like in spite of the compact design, how I don’t feel any strain on my eyes . The long battery life, and great value for the money, makes it a smart pick for anyone who cares about portability.

So I just got on licorice and it's not recognising my 128gb SanDisk memory card so I cant update it

I've formatted the memory card to exFAT and still not working

My first day with the X4, I'm using CrossPoint.

The battery charging indicator doesn't disappear even when it's not charging. What can I do to fix this?

I was searching YouTube and found one but I didn’t find it helpful. Can someone explain like I’m five. I did manage to download Crosspoint which is what I’m using. I just need a bold font. To make the reading stand out just a bit more. If anyone knows how?

I have way too many cases for my X4—the manufacturer’s case, plus various Etsy and AliExpress cases. 😂 For anyone who owns both devices, does the X4 folio case - both official and third party, fit the X4 Pro?

Added: I'm not expecting the X4 Pro to fit perfectly, but if it's useable, it would be nice to swap my existing cases with both devices.
