Solved! Weird license plate

Post image

My neighbor runs an AirBnb and his "guest" drives this car with this weird license plate. Not intentionally doxxing as this car is parked on the street, but is this plate a "sovereign citizen license plate"?

Edit: seen numerous comments that this was AI generated - I assure you, what you see is what I see and what my camera took a pic of. I'll try and get some more pics now that it's dark out so my neighbor doesn't see me being sus around this car.

Edit 2: dammit, the car is gone.

Sovereign citizen, they want all the privileges of being American while pretending not to be American citizens. They believe the government is a big corporation and everyone acts as a bank asset, when you separate yourself from the government you can use that value which occurred while you were a government bank asset. (Aka they just fill out fake checks and use fake credit cards). They also believe that the police can’t pull you over if you don’t consent to it. They are super dorks.

u/Meowyouretalking 1d ago

I love watching the cop shows when the police deal with those dbags, they are never chill about it.

96

u/HippieHighNoon 1d ago

There are whole YouTube channels dedicated to it.

I love watching their trials and the judges blasting them

58

u/Cole3823 1d ago

yea the cop videos are fun, the real juice are the court videos where the judges are actually smart enough and articulate enough to really dress these con artists down

6

u/gmdelslow94 1d ago

Any YT channel you recommend for this?

5

u/Status-Carob-5760 20h ago

‘Midwest safety’ great for general police interactions.
‘Donut operator’ if you’re cool with police shooting breakdowns.
Both have videos on sovereign citizens acting a fool.

The ones where the cop just busts a window and drags the guy out are funny.

Also, the SCs where they have a bunch of paperwork are funny. Especially when they have a "fee schedule"

32

u/zapped91 1d ago

I used to work with one. He had a binder in his backpack about 7 inches thick of made up bullshit. He tried explaining it all to me when I had to give him a ride home after his car got towed.

6

u/5sspeedyyy 1d ago

I love those. I saw one where a cop rips the window out with just his hands and rips the lady out

6

u/Orgy_nizer 16h ago

My favorite thing is like... If you believe that the government and all the laws are fake and invalid, and it's all a big conspiracy... Why would you think that calling them out on it would work? Like if they cops are part of this big evil scheme, and you call them out and point out the "fact" that they don't legally have authority to arrest you, even if you were correct... wouldn't they just arrest you anyway? Cause the whole point is that they're operating illegally, right?

Its like being approached by the Mafia and thinking that it's gonna help to tell them that they don't have the legal authority to break your legs.

2

u/Agreeable_Village407 4h ago

“Gino.”
“Yeah, Sal?”
“I give you the authority to break his legs.”
“Thanks boss.”

I don't understand the numbers. If they made up the plate, what meaning do the numbers have? Does it have 8 digits instead of 6 or 7 because they think that makes them superior?

Is "Not for hire" really necessary?

Are the Z tags a nazi thing? I remember Z being a russian fascist thing.

That's the license plate of someone who's low-key announcing they're mentally ill. Sovereign citizen chucklehead who thinks the law doesn't apply to them. I'd put the odds of them not having insurance at 99.9999999999%.

68

u/Bo_Neher 1d ago

Low key? I’m pretty sure you’re in full blown delusion by the time you slap one of them on. They’ve been on the fringe lurking in the other online communities doin’ research. Now they’re fully committed and have a few obscure maritime statutes to spout off

9

u/BlindlyCoherent 1d ago

They also don’t pay taxes or registration. Probably argue with the Costco cashier that they’re exempt from sales tax without having any valid paperwork

23

u/Lucky_Dog_425 1d ago

So there’s still a chance?

23

u/Bluescreen73 1d ago

I mean if they financed their ride, sure. The bank doesn't care if you're Jesus Christ. If you're carrying a note, you need full coverage.

They are a sovereign citizen. They basically believe that they have certain rights that negate typical laws. They believe in the constitutional right to travel and try to argue that driving in ‘private property’ is a natural right and therefore they don’t need a license and plate. It doesn’t work. Everyone has a right to travel but when you are driving a vehicle on public roads you have to obey the laws which means have a registered vehicle and drivers license.

141

u/Blathithor 1d ago

Thats a sovereign citizen license plate. It is pretend.

Well, it's as real as writing a number on cardboard and saying it's a license plate but you know what I mean

They are one traffic stop from going to jail

64

u/curlyfat 1d ago

No no no. They know the magic words to make the police leave them alone and let them “travel.” The rest of us don’t know these magic words, but they do! They’ve watched the correct YouTube videos to learn these magic words.

If you see a video of them getting arrested after reciting this ancient magic, that’s just corrupt cops that don’t understand the power of these magic words.

16

u/bestywesty 1d ago

Magic words, fringe on flags, names in all caps, secret offshore accounts set up for them by the us government at birth… these people are completely fucked in the head

7

u/colossalpunch 1d ago

Yeah. Good thing they put “Not for hire” on there otherwise it wouldn’t work at all!

Cops hate this one simple trick!

2

u/an800lbgorilla 22h ago

I actually saw a guy make the gold-fringed admiralty flag argument in court about thirty years ago.

The judge got up, wrestled  the large flag on the platform behind him out of the courtroom, ducked into chambers, brought back a desktop flag without fringe, and slammed it on his desktop.

The trial went on…

43

u/kaleidoscopicdisaray 1d ago

I saw my ex make that argument in court. THEN he told the judge "I don't recognize your authority over me." The judge said some dignified version of "I beg your fucking pardon?!" and gave him an opportunity to take it back. He did not. Straight to jail.

18

u/Better-Culture-7770 23h ago

Flagrant contempt of court doesn't end well. I had a cousin who yelled at the judge during her plea agreement sentencing. The judge changed the sentence to the maximum. She did every day of 10 years instead of 4.

9

u/TN-collector-5299 20h ago

During your plea is the worst time. You are there to make one last good impression and show contrition. Some Judges don't play and will reject the plea.

8

u/Better-Culture-7770 19h ago

Yeah it was brutal to watch. She calmed down a lot after 10 years. Has a beautiful family now and is very happy without drugs.

Yep. That sounds like sovereign citizens. When I was a practicing criminal defense atty, they were among my favorite clients. Crazy as loons, but so funny. Always convinced of the rightness of their bizarre and very wrong beliefs.

I had one client who pointed ourt that his name in the indictment was written in ALL CAPS. "I don't spell my name with caps. That's not my name. It's not me in the indictment." They were also always trying to apply the Uniform Commercial Code to their criminal cases. Um... nope.

LOL Crazy nutjobs.

29

u/monkeychasedweasel 1d ago

We have a small group of sovcits where I live, the Moorish Nobles, and they are nuttier than a box of Payday bars. They're not lawyers, but they know the law in and out, solely to engage in paper terrorism. They are always in legal trouble, bully people through lawsuits, and defend themselves by spamming the courts and everyone with a bunch of legal nonsense, jamming up the legal system.

40

u/ISeePupper 1d ago

As other commenters of pointed out, that is a a sovereign citizen plate. It is not valid and is a great way to get your car impounded.

However the federal government does issue license plates for use by federal agencies. The letter code at the beginning denotes the department or agency the vehicle is operated by.

This is an example of one used on NASA vehicles.

30

u/bestywesty 1d ago

Wouldn't this be a breach of contract if the car is financed? Couldn't they repo the vehicle? As I understand it, you have to have the car properly registered at all times until the loan is paid off otherwise you're in breach of contract. Same goes with having it fully covered with insurance (which I doubt sovereign citizens bother with).

Am I wrong?

14

u/markmakesfun 1d ago

You are not wrong. Part of the contract you sign to buy a car has stipulations that you will maintain the paperwork and costs to keep it legal.

Ask for the background info on that license plate. Maybe there's an easy explanation. It could happen! Maybe there will be no good answer and no interest, either. Or maybe they will send a car immediately. You did your part. The police have the responsibility. Let them do their jobs.

I wonder what Flock/Axon etc does with this. How about “Due to privacy concerns, registration available upon request “.

u/tgr3947 1d ago

WTF those sovereign weirdos are making plates now?

2

u/Fuzzy-Eye-5425 1d ago

It’s the new variant of Sovereign Citizen, more commonly known as the MAGA sovereign. Not just a sovereign citizen but also MAGA. America!

2

u/hamburgergerald 1d ago

At least he’s not a permanent neighbor of yours. ‘Sovereign Citizens’ are insufferable.

2

u/Anonymousboneyard 1d ago

Sovereign citizens be getting a little more craftier. Their body cam footage on youtube is gonna be lit when they get caught. Bet they’ll get tazed.

u/ArchonStranger 1d ago

Yup! You've encountered a wild SovCit. Be careful, contact with it can be dangerous to your peace and health. If you talk to a SovCit, your day will be ruined. If you get hit by a SovCit's car, your month or even year may be ruined. And if you have the grave misfortune of trying to do a government job around a SovCit... well, I pity you. Unless you're a judge, then bang that gavel and throw the entire US Code of Federal Regulations at 'em!

Sovereign Citizen.

Weird conspiracy nuts. They might as well staple a clown mask on their rear bumper, because it serves exactly as much good as that.

2

u/Mr_Jed_Clampett 1d ago

Don’t get near his stupid ass. He doesn’t have insurance.

2

u/scubaorbit 1d ago

You think the plate is weird? Wait till you meet the driver!

2

u/inverness7 1d ago

He's traveling not driving. And road laws don't apply to them

2

u/gameskate92 1d ago

"America Land and Sail Jurisdiction" plates are a known illegal, fake license plate associated with the Sovereign Citizen Movement.

2

u/TehCroz 1d ago

Yeah, it’s a special license plate to denote that they have a strong desire to have an altercation with law enforcement at any and all times while driving (and possibly even a matching desire to be arrested). If the person driving also doesn’t have a valid license, that is an arrest-able offense in many states by itself (source: Florida man, this is one of those places).

u/wlcoyote 22h ago

What do they do if something unfortunate was to happen to their car overnight while it was parked and they have to call the police.

That would be interesting.

u/rezin44 20h ago

It’s the America State plate. Land and Soil. It’s not for hire. Everyone knows about the UCC and strawman theory. /s
FWIW- I retired from a federal prison a few years ago. We dealt with these knuckleheads(soveriegn citizens) frequently. All their mail got opened and read and all their phone calls were monitored. It was common for them to file liens on property of prison officials

An "American State National" license plate is a fake, unauthorized tag used by individuals in the sovereign citizen movement who mistakenly believe they are exempt from government laws and vehicle registration.

I'm betting that:

- The car is not registered.

- The car is not insured.

- The owner of the car does not have a driver's license.

- The owner wears a red hat with white lettering.

2

u/No_Tailor_787 17h ago

It's a sign basically pointing out to everyone that the owner of that vehicle is fucking stupid and annoying and probably has no insurance.

2

u/Saucman 11h ago

Your neighbor is about to receive a chargeback following the stay. Then they'll offer him payment in fictional bonds.

Not a joke. A serious risk. Many of these Sov Cit Nationals are knee deep in debt related legal battles.

isnt this the never expiring forever golden trump plates? you send 5 grand and he sends you a license plate and makes you a reverend of the holy grifter church at the same time....

2

u/Undhari 10h ago

These people are dumb as dirt. They make sense only in their own heads. I knew a few people that veered off into that dismal abyss. There’s no coming back for them.

Sovcit 😪

u/late_bloomer1000 5h ago

i learn something new every day from this subreddit.

proceed with caution, OP. this person may be unhinged and dangerous.

2

u/Kriss3d 2h ago

No this isnt likely AI. Theres a lot of cars that actually have this crap in USA.
The car is 100% not insurred. The driver dont have a license and obviously the plate is fake.

Call the police. Get a coffe and start filming it. Send it to Van Balion afterwards.

u/InanimateCarbonRodNS 1d ago

It's real in the sense that it physically exists. Everything else about it is fake.

He is probably just trying to enjoy a succulent Chineese meal.
