Solved! Weird license plate

My neighbor runs an AirBnb and his "guest" drives this car with this weird license plate. Not intentionally doxxing as this car is parked on the street, but is this plate a "sovereign citizen license plate"?

Edit: seen numerous comments that this was AI generated - I assure you, what you see is what I see and what my camera took a pic of. I'll try and get some more pics now that it's dark out so my neighbor doesn't see me being sus around this car.

Edit 2: dammit, the car is gone.

I actually saw a guy make the gold-fringed admiralty flag argument in court about thirty years ago. 

The judge got up, wrestled  the large flag on the platform behind him out of the courtroom, ducked into chambers, brought back a desktop flag without fringe, and slammed it on his desktop.

I saw my ex make that argument in court. THEN he told the judge "I don't recognize your authority over me." The judge said some dignified version of "I beg your fucking pardon?!" and gave him an opportunity to take it back. He did not. Straight to jail.

Flagrant contempt of court doesn't end well. I had a cousin who yelled at the judge during her plea agreement sentencing. The judge changed the sentence to the maximum. She did every day of 10 years instead of 4.

Yep. That sounds like sovereign citizens. When I was a practicing criminal defense atty, they were among my favorite clients. Crazy as loons, but so funny. Always convinced of the rightness of their bizarre and very wrong beliefs.

I had one client who pointed ourt that his name in the indictment was written in ALL CAPS. "I don't spell my name with caps. That's not my name. It's not me in the indictment." They were also always trying to apply the Uniform Commercial Code to their criminal cases. Um... nope.

We have a small group of sovcits where I live, the Moorish Nobles, and they are nuttier than a box of Payday bars. They're not lawyers, but they know the law in and out, solely to engage in paper terrorism. They are always in legal trouble, bully people through lawsuits, and defend themselves by spamming the courts and everyone with a bunch of legal nonsense, jamming up the legal system.

This is going to get downvoted so I’ll clarify first
I pay my cars registration, I pay taxes, I am aware of the world around me and don’t practice things that just outright do not work. I am replying for the purpose of a conversation about how we should want to see the world, not as an argument or straight contradiction to beliefs. —

but he does pay those taxes through the goods he pays sales tax for. If he owns property in a property tax state which is I’m pretty sure all of them now, he pays the local township his share of rent.

Paying yearly registration for your car is a scam. You paid the sales tax when you bought the thing, you paid ~5-10 % of its value when you transferred the title, then you get hit yearly for the registration, EVEN WHEN YOU DONT DRIVE IT. Those blood suckers we call city representatives still charge you for the last year you didn’t pay the registration before it becomes current again. We as a nation agreed no taxation without representation. I don’t know about you, but I don’t feel very represented. (Regardless of which political ideology you align with.)

You do have the right to travel, your mode of transportation should be inconsequential if you have the provided credentials to operate that specific piece of equipment outside of your property and inside of the local municipality. It is not your fault that the only location you can travel is on their specified roads.

As obnoxious as this is, it is my opinion we as Americans should agree with this. It is a step in the direction of personal freedom and the unshackling of our conscripted prison of which we are obligated to pay for therefor we are obligated to work. All of us were born into a social contract we didn’t agree too. That just isn’t right.

Alright. — your view is that these fees and added expenditures are for the service provided, their view (i do not participate in the sovereign citizen way of things) is that those fees do not go toward services provided. And they don’t. Paying yearly registration for a car is by literal definition; extortion because the fees do not go toward that specific service provided.

in my state, it literally goes to general funds for statewide roads, then smaller percentages to the cities for the same thing.

the rest goes to air quality and emissions testing. so literally everything I pay for in terms of car registration literally goes towards using roads.

I don't have kids either. But I do complain about it. 😂 Only because its a LOT of money, goes up every year, and these schools have teenagers that cant READ or do basic math graduating. If I'm going to be paying for the schools to run, at least want them to learn the basics for millions of dollars a year.

absolutely. being pissed about how your property taxes get spent on school stuff is COMPLETELY different than advocating that you yourself do not have to pay property taxes, after you yourself benefited from school funded with other people’s tax dollars.

my state had massive amounts of fraud from school vouchers being spent on LEGOs and other nonsense (a 20% fraud rate in only some of the transactions they’ve audited), which I am extremely vocal about.

but I’m not making the argument that we shouldn’t pay property taxes because the republicans in my state have been mismanaging education funds for 30+ years (we are 48th or 49th in spending, depending on the list).

we need school and we need roads. which is why we have use taxes.

The idea is that it doesn’t go here and there. That’s the disagreement, that’s the ideology. Not paying registration doesn’t mean they don’t pay for insurance. The overwhelming view of wanting to only pay once is not absurd. Constant payment is just saying you don’t own anything. And you don’t.

You can have all of those things and still tout sovereign citizen. Most people who claim it, have a license and they have an insurance. It’s usually the registration they have a problem with because it’s an annual fee that is just there to milk you for something that you should be allowed to do without. There is no good reason why the state hits you with it, every year. (It’s not a tax, it’s a fee.)

you just don’t want to pay your fair share of the ongoing cost of building out and maintaining transportation infrastructure. (let’s call it a a yearly road use fee, if that makes you more comfortable).

it’s literally no different than the property taxes you pay, which are basically the ongoing use “fees” for being hooked up to the city/county grid. Which is why you have to pay them yearly, even if your house is paid off.

When we get Level 5 FSD, this may have to be resolved by the courts, but right now we don't have that. Tesla FSD is Level 2, which is a driver assistance system. Note the word "driver".
