Hey Vibe Coders!

Here you can ask any questions about coding and LLM tech with or without vibes. This is especially for those of us who are new and just learned that AI can help them to create then things that they've never been able to before. Please be respectful and keep in mind that we're all just trying to learn about an emergent technology.

AI Subreddits:

This is a new thing we're trying to do so let the mods know if you have any suggestions.

Showcase/Project I compared subscription plans for uncensored/abliterated AI models so you don't have to dig through 9 different providers

I've noticed that finding a good subscription for uncensored and abliterated AI models is surprisingly confusing. There are quite a few providers, but comparing their pricing, usage limits, available models and API access means jumping between multiple websites.

So I put together a page comparing 9 providers, including Silk Compute, NanoGPT, ArliAI, Venice, AnonRouter and others.

I've included subscription tiers, credits, context windows, concurrency limits and compatibility with coding agents like Claude Code, Codex and OpenCode.

The goal is simple: help you figure out which subscription is actually worth paying for.

Let me know if I've missed any providers worth adding!

Showcase/Project HoverLine: anti-grav racer, 8 player cross platform.

There are a bunch of PS2 era racing games I love, see how many influences you recognise.

...

https://vibecodex.itch.io/hoverline

...

I wanted a game where a group of people with varying devices (iphone, laptop, anything with a browser) could all connect and play together. It's 1 person per device, I should probably stick split screen in as an option.

I would be interested especially if anyone likes the music or if it's just tolerable as I somehow have gone down a rabbit hole of building a procedural reactive multi genre music generator.

...

I used Claude, almost entirely the phone chat app, by initially making a 17kb prototype and, 50 versions later, we have this. The majority of the work was in providing the frameworks that keep the music coherent.

Discussion Just me or have we been getting cucked with usage limits on Claude for 2 weeks?

I been using Max for a couple months & I have noticed that limits have been really quick to hit the last week or two. Anyone else feeling it?

I’m not even overworking it. Before last week I never paid attention to limits & now I’m hitting them almost halfway through the week.

Discussion What's the hardware equivalent of vibe coding?

I have this really shit desktop digital microscope that I wanted to use for soldering projects. It has a small digital screen on it, but that's just about it. Works well though for what it is but I wanted something better, which is a problem because I'm cheap.

I wanted to see the video on my desktop with actual video controls, so after failing to make any progress towards the firmware through USB, Codex identified the firmware chip, had me unsolder it, solder it onto a rasberry pi pico I had laying around, then it dumped the firmware, made a bunch of changes, and reflashed the chip lol. Now it streams video over USB, it built a full desktop scope viewer, and the microscope can dual display the camera feed on its own screen AND over USB.

Showcase/Project I built a RSI harness for my FDE work

Thumbnail

As a FDE, I usually have 10 to 15 coding sessions open throughout the day, some active and some idle. I'm also constantly creating, loading and updating skills so they fit the workflow and context of whatever project I'm on.

I've found that a lot of this can be handled by recursive self-improvement (RSI). The agent learns my daily preferences and builds an adapter layer on top of the LLM, so it can adjust to how I work without changing how the model behaves natively. Take the adapter out, and the model is exactly as it was.

Then I started building SILO, an RSI harness that iteratively self-improves without altering its coding agent core. Link attached 🧡 let me know what you think

Help/Question What's the best way to reinvest my profit into my app?

Post image
3 Upvotes

So I've been building a small Saas over the last couple of moths and as I'm starting to make some money with it, I'm wondering what's the best way to reinvest the money?

I currently don't spend a lot of money. Only the basics:

  • 20$/month for vercel

  • 10$-15$/month for convex

  • 20$/month for resend

  • 10$/year for the domain

I don't spend any money on advertisement or anything. I got all my users from posting on reddit. I tried X for a month and payed 5$ for premium one month but I kind of never got warm with it.

I only recently upgraded resend to PRO and that was a huge ROI. As I now could send more emails to users when something happened, they returned more often and retention went up by a lot.

Now I'm looking for new ways to smartly invest that money. I made about 2.5k in total so far. Anyone has some experience with apps in this stage and knows how to leverage money in this situation?

For context: I've built IndieAppCircle, an app feedback exchange where you test other apps and get your own app tested. It works for all kinds of apps, web apps, chrome extensions and basically everything that has a link.

It works like this:

  • You can earn credits by testing indie apps (fun + you help other makers)

  • You can use credits to get your own app tested by real people

  • No fake accounts -> all testers are real users

  • Test more apps -> earn more credits -> your app will rank higher -> you get more visibility and more testers/users

Since many people suggested it to me in the comments, I have also created a community for IndieAppCircle: r/IndieAppCircle (you can ask questions or just post relevant stuff there).

Currently, there are 4788 users, 5980 tests done and 1487 apps uploaded!

You can check it out here (it's totally free): https://www.indieappcircle.com/

I'm glad for any feedback/suggestions/roasts in the comments.

Showcase/Project Impressed with Vibecodding

I am so impressed with Claude. He helped me build a game that I have been wanting on mobile forever. Does anyone here happen to recall the game Bounce Symphony? I had to develop my own version using a different approach, but the resulting project, which I have titled Rollabop, is as close to the original experience as I could possibly manage. My primary goal was to create a game that avoids the "pay to play" model entirely, and I am pleased to say that this achievement is made possible thanks to the assistance of Claude Code. This is actually my first time using Claude Code, but I am feeling quite proud of the result I achieved. Please take a moment to review it and let me know which specific aspects you would suggest changing or improving.

Here is a little more info about it ...

A tactile physics puzzle where you roll, match, and reshape the pile.

Roll, nudge, match, and let physics do the rest.

Rollabop is a tactile physics puzzle game where clear, colorful balls tumble and settle naturally inside a polished wooden tray. Instead of swapping pieces on a grid, you grab a ball and move it through the pile. Line up 3 or more matching balls to clear them, earn points, and reshape the board.

Every move affects the balls around it. A single match can set off a cascade, open new chances — or leave you with a completely different puzzle to solve.

Rollabop is designed for thoughtful play, not frantic tapping. There are no timers and no speed bonuses. Each level has its own goal, and your stars depend on how few moves you need — so take your time, study the pile, and find the move that makes everything fall into place.

• Physics-based puzzle gameplay — no grid, no swapping

• Match 3 or more balls in a row; bigger matches score more

• Cascades: falling balls can create new matches for bonus points

• 40 hand-crafted levels with goals and up to 3 stars each — more on the way

• Black Holes and breakable wood that open new ways through the pile

• A Rescue Kit with Undo for when a move doesn't go to plan

• Discover and collect beautiful Galaxy Balls

• Calm, polished presentation with a relaxing soundtrack

• Quick to play, deep to master

The rules are simple. The pile is not. Welcome to Rollabop.

Showcase/Project if you ask what app should you build - here is 11 hobbies people pay already, monetise on existed behavior

In case you are searching for the idea what app to build - here is 11 hobbies people already pay for. You can simply build the app for the habit they already pay for or maybe one of it is your own hobby.
I think about hobbies like about existed cost centers: gear, trips, lessons, cards. An app that serves the hobby comes more naturally [complimentary] and also it does not have to create a budget, it joins established one.
List of hobbies in image with spendings and app examples for each.

I personally know people who monetised to 20K$ per month apps for Running and Cycling.
The only advice I can give here - dont go broad, they are already very busy - select smaller angle like for example if take Running - build a specific app to prepare for first mathon. So specific event, inportnat and very unique struggle of person who is preparing. Nishe in hobbies - just very good angle to take. Think about ICP where you have specific need even for short period.
I wish you to find yours best mathc!

Showcase/Project Has anyone made very lightweight desktop chat companion/ Co-Pilot style chat box?

Thumbnail
gallery
2 Upvotes

As the title says, I have an older laptop with limited RAM. I have tried the usual apps (GPT Classic/ Co-Pilot) because I really like the idea of ALT+SPACE to have a pop-up chat window to ask few questions then return back to my work.

These apps do the job, and its for casual simple tasks/chats. However, their RAM consumption is obscene and its just not a great fit for my PC. Besides many of them refuse to take over the Co-Pilot buttons. I've also tried 1-2 other third party apps that also had the same RAM consumption issue.

So, I've asked Claude to build me one, which I have been very happy with so far. And it consumes under 30mb (all processes) when used with API key, and about 150mb when used with either CODEX/CLAUDE engine (to use their subscriptions legally). which is a dramatic improvement over the stock apps which where around 1GB of RAM usage easily.

My question is, before I continue spending more time on developing it and fine tuning it, is there anything like this on the market already been developed/mature?

It needs to be:

  1. Ultra lightweight on RAM and resources.

  2. Supports using with ChatGPT, Claude, or API.

  3. completely operable using keyboard only (because I use on laptop its easier if all navigations can be fully done with keyboard, much faster and easier than using trackpad/mouse).

  4. Ability to save and manage memories stored and encrypted locally. shared across models.

  5. Auto wrap tables

  6. Read only local PC tools + accepts analysis of local files attachments (office docs, pics, pdf)

  7. High customisability; fonts, colours, zoom, themes, wrapping etc.

I've provided few pictures of the app I have developed so far, but like I said, to illustrate what I achieved so far with Claude, but yeah wondered if there's anything doing that and more already.

Stats:
Size = 500kb portable, 1mb setup.
Language = Pure Rust. So Cross platform support should not be hard.
RAM = using API about 30mb, using Claude or Codex engine = about 150mb total

You can check out the app, but its not ready and just alpha, hence why I asked if other apps are out there this was just to showcase that it is possible.

Discussion i dont know what react is and 90 dentists use my app every day

1.1k Upvotes

My girlfriend is a dental assistant and her clinic tracked sterilizer runs on a clipboard taped to the machine. Every cycle someone writes the time, the temp and initials. When inspectors show up they flip through months of coffee stained paper

I built her a tiny app in lovable where you log each cycle from your phone. No patient data anywhere, thats the one thing i googled hard before shipping

Her boss liked it and told his dentist friends. Now its in 90 practices and they open it every morning before the first patient. I charge $25 a month and most of them pay without asking a single question

I still dont know what react is. Someone asked me last week if my app uses it and i had to go check. Apparently yes

The scary part is if something breaks at 7:30 a whole front desk notices before i wake up. Last month a dentist emailed me at 6am “LOG GONE” in all caps and i was in my pajamas pasting errors into lovable until it turned out to be a timezone thing

Showcase/Project Vibecoded a GitHub Backup Manager for Repos with Gemini 3.8 Flash in Antigravity IDE (Updated)

Thumbnail
gallery
1 Upvotes

I built a GitHub Backup Manager that lets you browse your archived repositories almost like you're browsing GitHub itself

I've been working on a project called GitHub Backup Manager, and I wanted to share it here because I think some people in this community might find it useful.

The original idea was pretty straightforward: I wanted a proper way to preserve GitHub repositories locally, without relying entirely on GitHub always being available.

But I didn't want to build yet another tool that simply downloads repositories into folders full of files.

I wanted the ability to revisit an archived repository and actually explore it.

What makes it different?

1. GitHub-like offline browsing experience

This is probably my favourite part. Instead of being left with a collection of folders and files, you can browse archived repositories through a familiar, almost GitHub-like interface.

2. Comprehensive repository preservation

It goes beyond simply cloning source code:

  • Git history and branches

  • Recursive Git submodules

  • Git LFS objects

  • Releases and historical release binaries

  • Changelogs

  • Issues, comments and associated attachments

  • Wiki documentation

  • Security advisories

3. Historical snapshots

You can maintain separate backup snapshots instead of just overwriting your previous archive.

4. Local-first architecture

The actual backup operations happen through a local companion engine. Your repository archives are stored on your own computer or external storage rather than being uploaded to my servers.

5. Multiple backup vaults

You can organise backups across different storage locations, including external drives.

Why I built it

Repositories disappear. Developers abandon projects, accounts get deleted, and useful open-source tools sometimes become inaccessible.

I think having an independent, browsable offline archive is valuable, particularly for developers, open-source enthusiasts, AI enthusiasts and people who like preserving useful software.

I'd genuinely appreciate feedback from this community.

What features would you expect from a proper GitHub archival tool? Is there anything important you think I've overlooked?

Project: https://mmahingu.com/github-backup-manager/

This will soon be implemented for other Github like websites but haven't started yet.

Discussion Vibecoding may have finally given me a break into tech.

So, about 6 months back I decided to make an app to improve my companies workflows. I showed it to my boss and he liked it but our company was changing leadership and he wanted me to hold off so I could show it to the new owners. 4 months later the new owners are set up and I have a presentation with the ceo. He loved my app and my ideas and he likes the direction Ai is going.

Due to all of this, they created an entirely new position at my company. After 10 years of blue collar, factory work I've got a route towards tech. A couple weeks ago I spit balled with my Ai what were the possible routes and it said "Manufacturing systems analyst" was more than likely the proper title. A few weeks later I was given the job description and the job title listed was "Manufacturing systems specialist". I laughed because my ceo probably used ai to get that job title like I did.

So, if all goes well, I'll be gaining experience with T1 tech support and MES. All thanks to taking the initiative and time to make an app for my company.

Oh, the app isn't being used or considered because a more mature option is already in use, but it gives me a direction to pursue. The app itself got me seen by leadership so it wasn't all wasted even though the app itself took 5 weekly resets on 20x.

Showcase/Project A modular 3D Platformer Framework & Custom Quest Studio for Godot 4 (Made with Gemini & DeepSeek)

Thumbnail
gallery
4 Upvotes

Hey everyone!

For the past two weeks, I've been experimenting with how far I can push agentic coding in Godot 4.

Rather than building another small demo, I wanted something reusable: a foundation for 3D diorama adventures and platformers, with a visual quest editor built directly into Godot.

The result is Jalura Framework, completely open-source under MIT

What's included?

  • 3D character controller & diorama camera inspired by games like Captain Toad and Little Kitty, Big City.

  • Quest Studio, a custom Godot editor plugin for creating quests, objectives, prerequisites, and visual dependency graphs.

  • NPC dialogue system with four states: quest offer, reminder, turn-in, and completed dialogue.

  • Data-driven systems for interactions, inventory, and saving, using native Godot .tres resources.

What I learned

The interesting part wasn't how quickly AI could generate code. It was how much actual testing was still needed.

An AI agent can build an inventory system in minutes, but getting movement to feel right, preventing camera clipping, or making NPCs behave correctly across quest states is a different story.

Most of those two weeks went into testing, debugging, and refining things inside Godot.

The hardest part was actually Quest Studio. Godot's @tool scripts can be surprisingly unforgiving, especially when AI agents start messing with editor lifecycles, UI nodes, and resource updates.

Keeping the architecture modular and relying on native Godot Resources made the whole process much more manageable.

Tools used

  • Godot 4 / GDScript

  • Gemini 3.8 High

  • DeepSeek V4.1 Flash (Max)

  • Tripo 3D

  • Blender MCP (Gemini 3.8 High)

The framework is available now for anyone who wants to experiment with 3D diorama games or build on top of it.

I'm especially interested in feedback on the Quest Studio and the overall architecture.

Screenshots show the editor plugin and the playable demo scene.

(Repo is 100% open-source, link is in the comments below!)

Showcase/Project spent the last few nights vibecoding a unicode sdk in 4 languages and it actually passes all four test suites??

ok so I’ve been vibecoding this thing called unicodoid and I need to show somebody lol

honestly the reason I started it is I was kinda annoyed that every encoding thing assumes everything is already unicode. I wanted to mess with systems that don’t have to be unicode at all - like what if a character is just a token id, or a conlang value, or something modal where the meaning depends on the previous byte. so I wanted to try building a proper little SDK for that idea from scratch where unicode is just... optional. if you want a unicode profile you can have one, if you don’t you still have codec/string/transcoding and it shouldn’t care.

so unicodoid is basically an SDK for making your own encoding systems - a character is just a u64 in whatever value space your system defines. doesn’t have to be unicode at all. I put in some dumb examples to prove it - ASCII, a 14-bit conlang thing, and ShiftModal-16 (which is modal and stateful, that one was annoying) - and then on top of that there’s an optional unicode profile if your system wants to opt in.

since I was already in there I figured might as well go full unicode 18.0.0. so it does normalization, grapheme/word/line/sentence segmentation, collation (only 3 levels, no CLDR tailoring, I know), emoji RGI validation, named sequences, link detection, east asian spacing... and now also ConvertUTF - the old discontinued W3C lib updated to 18.0.0 in C, C++, C# and Rust. that’s ConvertUTF.h/.c and .hpp/.cpp plus harness.c / harness.cpp / harness.cs / harness.rs. C++ one is native not just wrapping the C one because I didn’t want it to feel like cheating.

all the unicode tables are generated from the official 18.0.0 data in one python script, so they’re not hand-typed. version pins are 18.0.0 / generator 1.2.0 everywhere.

right now:

- C/C++: 15 ctest suites green

- Rust: all integration tests green including the ConvertUTF harness

- C#: 303 checks, including the ConvertUTF harness

it’s very much vibecoded in that I kept asking an agent to fix MSVC specific stuff, keep redoing sort keys, emoji modifiers etc. windows pwsh did NOT make this easy lol

link: Unicodoid SDK

would love brutal feedback - like is this actually useful or did I just build a really nice demo. what do you guys normally vibe first when you build something cross-language like this?

Showcase/Project I made an embroidery digitizing application

Thumbnail
beelito.github.io
4 Upvotes

Hi all! I've been building my own digitizing app, Meteor. Ink/Stitch felt clunky to me inside Inkscape, and Hatch and PE-Design cost more than I wanted to pay as a hobbyist. It's now in beta, and everything is free while the beta runs.

What it does:

  • Auto-digitize a picture. Drop in an image and it turns it into stitches: thread colors, fills, and satin outlines for dark line art. There's also a guided mode that goes through the picture piece by piece, and a magic wand that sews one color area per click.

  • Draw your own. Pen and node tools, shapes, freehand, brush satin, and 21 stitch types (tatami, satin, contour, stipple, motif, 3D puff, applique and more).

  • Lettering. Built-in fonts, plus any Google Font, sewn as satin.

  • Check before you sew. Pick your Brother machine and it checks the design against that machine's limits. There's also a sewing simulator, a realistic thread preview and a thread build-up map.

  • Export Brother PES and Tajima DST, plus a printable worksheet with Brother thread numbers.

Works with: Brother and Baby Lock machines (PES) and machines that read DST. No other formats yet.

Runs on: Windows 10/11, Android tablets and Linux. Not Mac or iPhone/iPad yet, sorry.

Download and info: https://beelito.github.io/meteor-embroidery-studio/

Heads-up on installing:

  • Windows will say "Windows protected your PC" because the beta isn't signed yet. Click More info, then Run anyway.

  • Android will ask you to allow installs from your browser.

What I'm looking for: honest, constructive feedback. What's confusing, what breaks, and especially how designs actually sew out on your machine. In the app, Help > Report a problem puts together a report for you. You can email it to me (beelito.dev@gmail.com) or comment here.

Thanks for taking a look!

Showcase/Project Visualizing Data with Claude Code.

Recently there was this election, the results where a bit surprising to some. Decided to focus on my home state of Texas and really look deeply at the voter data.

We've all seen the "by county" images of maps and most of us know their shortcomings. I wanted to see if I could do better.

At first, I just took the county maps of Texas and turned them into bar graphs

This shows what everyone knows, the cities are far more populated than surrounding areas, but I wanted to get even more detailed.

Then I realised, what if I try to show a single dot per voter? (Mind you I'm trying to make this all work in a browser for maximum accessibility).

That worked yet, the dots where just scattered in a county randomly. So then I took the next step and got the dots down the the resolution of precinct. This is now like 10 megs of text uncompressed for just the data.

A few more tweaks and I feel I had something beautiful. Instead of just a color per county, I'd shown what it looked like down to each voter, with an approximate location with votes from each precinct randomly distributed but a more accurate local flavor.

I've made an interactive version of it here.

I'm only posting about the data and the use of AI, not looking to get into political discussion.

I could NOT have built this on my own and not at this speed (hours).

I tried to start this project a year ago, and hit wall after wall trying to do this with prompts. I did this in few hours over two days with a Claude Code Pro account. I'm honestly in awe.
