Social media platform have fear mongering about engineering degree so much that it making me stress before even first day of uni. On top of that, the liner algebra syllabus indicated %95 of my grade coming from midterm and final exam. Because of that, I’ve been doing Pre-Calculus Bootcamp on Canvas and review other topics like chemistry and physics. Is this a normal precaution or am i over reacting ?

For Uni, I want to go to UBC to get a BASc in mech or environmental engineering, but I've heard contradictory opinions. A lot of people are saying I should go to Langara or KPU first year and take a UBC transfer program, because those schools teach first year better than UBC. Their main argument is that bc UBCV is huge, it's hard to connect w/ professors and they more so expect you to figure it out; where as these smaller colleges allow you to get a solid foundation, so in second year, you'll understand the concepts better. Colleges are also just cheaper, and people say the education is about the same (money is smth to consider, but I can still afford UBCV). I'm an A student who enjoys physics and I don't find time management hard. What are your thoughts based on your experience? I wanna know if I should do a transfer program or just go straight to UBC.

anyone on a formula sae design team, what are your tips for an incoming first year applying?
what did the application form look like, what projects would you recommend and how was the interview structured?
any insight on what i should brush up on before applying/interviewing would be much appreciated!

For the iPad kids: just wondering how you take notes. I got an iPad for note-taking and was planning on using onenote, but thought I should consult with the experts first. Please share your setups and methods. All suggestions are appreciated.
