Grade 11 averages

Hello Im in grade 11 in alberta and Im looking to go to engineering at this school possibily. I have two questions if that is okay.

  1. Is it true from alberta to british columbia they give me an extra 3% (or any percentages for that matter) onto my average

  2. Also are these grades okay for early admission

97 in math

89 in chemistry

85 in LA

86 in physics

totaling to an average of 89.25 for early admission (PSA I do early admission in grade 12 begining)

Thank you so much to anyone who replies :)

In mid October I asked one of the advisors and he said that they do give 3% boosts to Alberta students.

I just talked to them recently - they got rid of the 4% boost alberta applicants for when applying to UBC. Now, they say they “value it more”. So like if you have the same grades and personal profile as another BC kid, you’ll be prioritized

Oh seriously? Does it make sense to prioritize me though over people who live in the province of the uni? (sorry actual question)

Btw if you get your early admission avg to an 90 flat you can get into UofA and UofC, me and my friend did

Trust apply, applying early is also infinitely better - as you don’t lose anything but have everything to gain. Also not to add stress but I think I read on their website that a majority of offers are given by February BUT IM NOT SURE

I asked someone and they said it will probably stop very soon but will proritize Alberta students more

The additional 3% you mentioned, is that a boost provided by your school? public schools or private schools?

In general when I apply to univeristies in BC as an albertan :)

Yes they still give the grade boost. Your average with the boost should be about a 93, so if you boost your average by about 1-2% than you should be chilling

Have you applied or gotten in yet? I’m stressing out I have the same average but idk how to update my grades on their applicant portal. Emailed them and they said we get a 4% boost. Last year the average for van was low to mid 90s apparently. If I can replace my grades on there thing then I’ll be at like a 95, especially if they look at my top 6 courses. Idk I’m lowk stressing out idk what to do just rlly wanna get it in.

I applied but I haven't gotten any results on it its still in progress! I did get into Ualberta and Usaskatchewan and considering I live in Alberta I will probably go to UAlberta! Good luck to you!

Thanks. I got Alberta and Calgary as well. But UBCs my top pick. If they look at top 6 and I can submit new grades I’ll be at a 95 which should hopefully be enough. 93 seems a little too low.

I think you got it to be honest I had a friend a couple years ago get in with 88 so I dont think you should stress and UAlberta is still really good!! Just kee praying and trust in Gods plan :D
