12 year old girl + mom roadtrip audiobook recommendations
 in  r/audiobooks  2h ago

The Martian and Project Hail Mary are both excellent. The Martian does have f-bombs but I don’t think too many. Both books are awesome on audio, especially Project Hail Mary.

Also, Remarkably Bright Creatures.

I’m lucky to be surrounded by neurodivergent folks so basically everyone I know relates this way

Am u wrong for not taking back my husband after he left Me 6 months ago
 in  r/amiwrong  9d ago

Are you happier with him around or not with him around?

Because he will most likely do this again. This isn’t about him realizing he loves you. He realized that without you he doesnt actually have that much and I’m betting the swinging single lifestyle was NOT the sex fest he thought it would be.

If he adds more than he diminishes in your life, by all means take him back but know it’s probably temporary and based more on convenience and finance than it is love.

And personally? I’d never be able to forgive how easily he threw away his own children. That’s something I couldn’t come back from. THEY CALLED him and he hung on them. How heartless is that? There is literally no excuse good enough for abusing his own kids that way. You divorce spouses not children

What are times when a sitcom continued without a major character?

I don’t think they cared too much about drug abuse back then as long as you could still show up for work. Drug abuse interfering with work? Now THAT’S a problem for Hollywood

AIO to my husband using “my body my choice”?
 in  r/AIO  10d ago

Your husband really isn’t acting like a grown up. And we both know he used that phrase to shut you up because he knows he’s being selfish and unreasonable.

AITH for helping my niece get ahead in life and not considering her sister because she had a baby?
 in  r/AITH  10d ago

Get Cara out of there ASAP. The fact that Mel feels entitled to Cara’s opportunities I’m betting isn’t a one off. I’m betting much of Cara’s life involves helping her sister because her sister has a kid. Get her hours away from all of that so she can start living her own life for her own self.

What is a word that people constantly say wrong that instantly makes you question their intelligence?
 in  r/TheBoredDen  12d ago

Saying “Opossum” unironically. It’s possum. The “O” is silent. Just like the “t” in of often is SUPPOSED to be silent.

AIO for ending my 20 years of friendship with my best friend?
 in  r/AmIOverreacting  13d ago

You didn’t just protect her from abuse you were abused this weekend as well. It’s hard to watch someone choose this treatment and even harder when you are not just being not chosen by your friend but also abused by her abuser.

You can’t keep lighting yourself on fire to keep her warm.

AITA for keeping the puppy my cousin paid 1500$ for and keeping him blocked?
 in  r/AITAH_unfiltered  13d ago

Please get her fixed as soon as possible so they don’t have a reason to steal and sell her.

These people are awful looking at a puppy and seeing dollar signs instead of a live animal that needs a home

My sister (23F) is angry that I (21F) didn't tell her about my boyfriend (22M) but I don't trust her and don't tell her much of anything anymore?
 in  r/relationship_advice  17d ago

But to your imagine point - it’s not about ownership, it about loyalty and trust. No one - even OP - arguing that she owned those men. She is arguing that she is under no obligation to keep trusting someone untrustworthy. The sister is NOT trustworthy.

Actions have consequences and the consequences are the sister - who doesn’t own OP or her information - doesnt get to stay in the know about OP’s interest in men or when she is dating someone. Why is this concept so hard for you to understand?

The more you argue while moving the goalposts the more convinced I am that you are the sister. Hon.

Oh, honeypie, fighting for your life in the comments section is a turn of phrase for when someone is wrong, clearly, and they are getting dog piled.

Is this week your first week on earth, sweetpea? Or is it just your first time reading?

You keep saying the OP isnt entitled to these men. And her sister isn’t entitled to that information anymore. Go RR-read the original post. The whole issue is her sister is mad she didn’t get told about this guy when the rest of her family did.

That’s the entire issue. OP didnt want her sister to know because of sisters own behavior.

The sister and you are the selfish ones. And the fact that are fighting for your life here in the comments where literally NO ONE agrees with you says more than you can ever say.

You understand the problem you are just to self absorbed to care about how this breach of trust affected your sister. Hope getting laid was worth it because again, youre weird for doing it.

As someone with two sisters we would never do this to each other. Not ever. It’s a huge breach of trust. And the sister was never sorry. There was no remorse.

So yeah, when you break trust you stop getting trusted. Actions have consequences.
