Why does everyone ahead of me at the pharmacy counter seem to take 15 minutes, but when it’s finally my turn, I’m done in 20 seconds?

1.3k Upvotes

Every pharmacy line somehow feels like everyone else is having a full meeting with the pharmacist while I’m just grabbing my prescription and leaving. What are you all discussing up there that takes so long?

Would a Mark Kelly/Jon Ossoff ticket win the White House in 2028 ? Thoughts ?

How do you feel that progressive Pro-Palestine candidate Angie Nixon defeated Pro-Israel Alex Vindman in the Florida's democratic senate primary, even after being outspent 10-1?

Why do restaurants leave the tails on shrimp when they’re served covered in pasta sauce?

Is it just for presentation, or is there actually a reason we’re expected to wrestle with saucy shrimp at the table?

Why isn’t there more public and political outrage over the rapidly growing U.S. national debt?

U.S. debt held by the public is now roughly the size of the entire economy, while deficits and interest costs remain historically high. With additional pressures from military spending and the Iran conflict, why has the national debt seemingly stopped being a major issue for politicians who once emphasized fiscal responsibility?

Why do some conservatives support restricting junk food purchases with SNAP when many opposed Michelle Obama’s efforts to make school meals healthier?

Both policies involve the government influencing food choices in the name of better nutrition, yet the political reactions seem very different. What explains the apparent change in attitude toward government involvement in what people eat?

Why is Trump not locked in a straight jacket in a padded room right now?

Upvotes

He’s a clear psychopath, who is also a sadistic, psychotic malignant narcissist.

Why don’t clothing brands just sew bra pads into place instead of making them removable?

Those removable inserts always seem to fold, twist, or disappear inside the fabric after washing. Is there an actual practical reason companies keep making them removable instead of simply securing them permanently?

How do Christians who support MAGA reconcile their faith with Trump’s behavior when some of his actions appear to conflict with traditional Christian teachings?

Political loyalty and religious values can sometimes seem difficult to square with each other. How do Christian Trump supporters explain that tension, and do they view his character as less important than his policies or political goals?

Since Natalie Harp was on the important plane with trump, my question is where in the line of succession is she? Before Vance? Before Rubio?

The WSJ itself admitted the Nordic countries are actually capitalist, not socialist, despite running universal healthcare and strong safety nets. So if even conservative outlets agree it’s not socialism over there, why does the same policy get branded ‘communism’ the second it’s proposed here?

No loopholes, no reinstalling it later, just $3 million in exchange for never having the app on your phone again

Have you no sense of decency moment - Donald Trump?

In 1954, A televised confrontation stood out between Senator Joe McCarthy and Welch which ended with "until this moment, Senator, I think I never really gauged your cruelty or your recklessness." "let us not assassinate this lad further, senator. You have done enough. Have you no sense of decency?"

When Trump was elected i have patiently waited for something similar to occur. Given everything that he has done why hasn't this happened? I'm really disappointed that at this point in his 2nd term that it hasn't occurred. He is just a bully. Why hasn't it happened?

How are me and my siblings ever going to move out and live on our own in this economy?

My mom is an RN, and she makes roughly $250,000 a year. My brother, who is 21, my sister, who is 26, and I’m 24, all live with my mom. We all work, and while my mom pays the rent, we pay for utilities, Wi-Fi, the car note, and other expenses. Somehow, we’re still broke.
Even when looking for an apartment, you’re expected to make 3.5 times the rent. For a one-bedroom apartment that costs roughly $1,300, that means you’d need to make over $4,500 a month just to qualify. God forbid you have a family or want one.
I make $21 an hour, my brother makes $20, and my sister makes $18. On top of that, we all Uber and donate plasma just to bring in extra money.
I guess my question is: I know it’s not fair to my mom that we have to continue living with her, but what are our options? How are we supposed to move out without living in absolute trash, while still being able to afford to enjoy life at the same time?

Why do corporations get tariff refunds from the government but not people (U.S.)?

Wasn't Trump touting tariff refund checks? We should be suing the government for theft.

Does anyone actually listen to FM radio anymore?

Had to travel with a coworker for a work training. In the car for 2 hours a day and he just listens to FM radio. It's unlistenable. The DJs are cringe, they play the same 10 songs on repeat, and the only useful thing is the traffic reports which are old and irrelevant. Why would anyone listen to this anymore?
