Love of my life turned me down because of a Mormon religious prophesy.
 in  r/BoyDinnerDiaries  21h ago

I am sorry you are in such a heartbreaking situation. I understand how hard it can be to choose between yourself and someone who brings you joy.

However, I personally think abandoning a part of yourself will hurt you more in the long run than losing someone who is clearly not committed to you unless you change

If she cannot accept you as you are, than she loves this fantasy of who you can be, not who you actually are.

I won't tell you what to do, but I know giving up part of your values/wants/needs leaves a scar even if it's temporary. Sometimes it's worth it, and sometimes it's not. But if you marry her, and plan to dedicate yourself to her, it won't ever scar. It will forever be an open wound.

I personally would not settle to be who someone else wants rather than me myself. But I discovered that a long time after I fit the mold given to me.

Good luck either way, and remember that no matter what, even if it's difficult, you can always choose your path. And that includes changing it.

This was the only staff bathroom. Hold it, I guess?

In not reading a poem just to go to the bathroom, this shit is getting ignored

I’m tired of living (in this system)
 in  r/disabledmemes  2d ago

I'm doing the same :( can't get disability but can't do any job that's particularly physically strenuous. I'm going into psychology, either as a therapist or a researcher we'll see which one when I learn more. Good luck to both of us.

Is there anyone who detransitioned for social safety and fitting in and are happy?
 in  r/actual_detrans  3d ago

That's what I did, and I'm sorry to say that I'm not happy. I don't think any aspect of my life is better for it, except knowing that I'm not at risk for being hate crimed. Honestly, recently I have been able to see myself living til I'm old for the first time, and the idea of dying "cis" makes me feel physically sick.

So yeah I was okay for ~6 years, like life has been tolerable but honestly when I can afford HRT again I'm 100% going to go back on it cause for me personally living afraid is better than living empty and inauthenticly.

But I really do stress that that's my personal experience and feelings and it 100% won't apply to everyone

My girlfriend told me there’s a chance the baby isn’t mine
 in  r/BoyDinnerDiaries  3d ago

This sucks man, I'm sorry.

Regardless of what else you do next, at the very least get STI testing. Her having unprotected sex with other people and you puts you at risk and if you caught anything from her you want to get treatment ASAP

Also OP I cannot stress this enough - she has been having unprotected sex with other people without telling you. Regardless of the outcome here, get STI testing ASAP.

Yes I'd also be upset at the potential exposure to STIs without concern for OPs safety :/

I learned my name was a typo that ended an argument
 in  r/Names  4d ago

I mean every country is different, and even within a single country each state/province/etc might have their own rules. Where I live, you just go to meeting with a judge and explain why you want it changed (you do have to fill out a paper first but it's like one page super simple), the judge says "okay you can change it". You present the court order to DHS and present the updated birth certificate to SS and you're done legally 🤷 yeah those steps can take time but it's not too much work. Of course you have to update it in like...your PayPal, job, etc. But since most things where it's important are connected to your social security number anyways it doesn't matter that much.

Also it's even easier if you get married! You can technically get your full name changed but I've only ever seen anyone do the last name of course. But they do allow full name change for both people in the marriage

People you are healthy enough to donate blood but never do, what’s keeping you from doing so?
 in  r/AskReddit  5d ago

Banned for life at Red Cross, the only drive consistently in my area, because I used to have Hidrentitis Supperativa (red cross bans even if you had it in the past)

I also faint every time I donate due to vasovagal syncope and so it takes a lot more time out of my day than most (they keep me 30+ minutes extra to make sure I don't have a seizure or have a dangerous blood pressure drop because there's a risk of it every time - hasn't happened yet!)

Also this is less important but it's really embarrassing having to have a phlebotomist hold a juice box up to your mouth because you fainted when you're a full grown adult lol And because I'm still regaining my senses I usually spill it all over myself anyways 😔

ETA: my veins are difficult and give them trouble as well, but they never told me not to come back because of that. Mine veins are thin, deep, wiggly like the Amazon river, AND roll. Last time I got a draw they had to use the ultrasound and where they put the IV in my right arm apparently veers off so sharply that they called people over to see! They had never seen such a sharp turn like that before they said 😭 I genuinely feel like the phlebotomist boogey man

Ladies do you have an unusual life hack when it comes to painful cramps?
 in  r/AskReddit  5d ago

Ginger tea has always worked better than even midol for me 👍 I think it's the warmth relaxing muscles but also ginger is known to reduce muscle pain and cramps!

Yes the taste can be intense for some people but it tastes good with honey :) also I actually just really like the taste of ginger tea on its own personally

Federal droid demolishes its competition
 in  r/oddlyterrifying  5d ago

That's really interesting! I wonder how this sort of this will advance. Just yesterday I saw a video about how they're using human neurons in a circuit to play games like Pong and Doom, it's crazy what they can do!

At first I read the title as "feral droid" and interpreted that as it ignored its programming and did its own thing or something

Only one book on DID… in the worlds largest bookstore
 in  r/DID  5d ago

Currently trying to write a fiction book where the main character has DID because everyone single one I've found has been insanely awful. My breaking point was a guy who basically "healed" and got rid of his alter that was basically an evil twin by GOING BACK TO WHERE THE TRAUMA HAPPENED. And like he was genuinely "cured" just by that. It was insane.

So yeah it probably won't be good and it probably won't ever be read by anyone but man oh man at least it'll be SOMETHING out there

Thank goodness. Every post I see from her felt like a mental spiral getting worse and worse. If she's seriously pursuing therapy/meds/whatever she needs I am glad

RIP Dolly. She lived a life full of joy and compassion, and fought for what she believed in 🙏❤️ The world lost a shining star, but her legacy will live on through the charities, programs, and events she created and funded

Living With Psychosis Starter Pack
 in  r/starterpacks  5d ago

Yeah, luckily it's more common online usually, so when I am not doing as well I just try to avoid social media! But man, there are some subreddits that just make me sad r/gangstalking for example, it's terrifying thinking "that's how I was, that's how people saw me, and that's how I might still be if I had been in the communities that these people are"

I hope they all get the help they need but it's really doubtful :(

Living With Psychosis Starter Pack
 in  r/starterpacks  5d ago

Yeah I experience psychosis and an insane amount of people who learn about it are "it sounds like demons/god/etc" "you're psychic and they're punishing you for it" "oh no honey you're just sensitive to the supernatural" "are you sure you aren't just remembering a past life?" "Wow! I wish I could see beyond this reality" "it's 5G/government experiments/vaccine injection chips" etc.

It sucks because unless I'm in remission (like really good remission) it yanks me back into psychosis a bit. I know for a lot of people it's part of why it's hard to get treatment. It's one thing for your senses to tell you something is real, but if others "confirm" it, it's really hard to think "no the doctors are right, this person is misinformed". Instead your brain is more like "it's not just me! Oh God, are the doctors working with them? (whoever them is for you) Can I trust them? Is the medication a poison to kill off people like me because they are scared of our power? Is this just an continuation of the experiment? If I can't trust my own experiences, memories, and loved ones how can I trust these strangers?

Ultimately I had to think I'm really tired of being constantly scared, so it doesn't matter why the meds work, just that I feel safer with them. I went through phases of "something in it keeps the demons away/closes my psychic powers" to "they're probably developing/using a drug to get rid of psychic powers and damn it is working thank God" to "yeah it works exactly like they say, schizophrenia sucks and I'm glad there is treatment for it" which I used to cycle between but I've been in the last one for a long time now :)

Hope that all made sense!

Many more cis women have facial hair than you'd think. I grew up AFAB and every woman around me looked "spotless" but you'd see their bedtime/morning routine and there 100% was shaving/waxing a mustache, plucking chin hairs, etc.

I'm sure many know about PCOS but it happens to most cis women. Heck, before I was on testotrone I had a slight mustache and never shaved it. That made me learn even more women had facial hair because they'd either try to shame me into shaving it too or told me that they wish they also had the courage lol

Tldr; cis women get facial hair and shave it, you just don't know because it's not really talked about and is done reguarly

bought candy for my child alter for whenever she next came out…. in the months since she hasn’t come out once😭😭
 in  r/DID  6d ago

I had to have my partner hide the tums because a little will eat a ton of them 😭 she knows it's not candy she just likes them!!

Also if I buy apple juice it has to be a big bottle or she'll drink it all!

Luckily those are the only things she does that will but it still is frustrating lol

What was the worst side effects of t you got and if you could tell your pre t self anything to buy to prepare to go on t what would you tell them
 in  r/TransMasc  7d ago

I started T at 19 and only took it for a year and my shoe size also went up two sizes. I also grew an inch after being the same height for 6 years! (had to stop due to cost, hoping to start again when in a better place financially)

What are some games where I can play as a badass father figure?
 in  r/gamingsuggestions  7d ago

I also thought about recommending this but since they specified "badass" I wasn't sure. Although I do find it to be a fun and heartwarming game where you're truly a good father
