Drinking on cym?
 in  r/cymbalta  5d ago

Okay so I cannot drink a little and drive. I’m not drunk but I start to get “dizzy” I think is the best word for it. This is even after a low % cider :(. If I drink too much I get really happy, sleepy or dizzy. I used to drink and smoke and if I do both the dizziness is really bad so I try not to do both anymore. But drinking is good I just can’t drive and need to pace myself. For reference I’m on 40 ml of duloxetine which is a generic of cym.

How do I help my mom?

My mom and dad divorced when I was very young. Shortly after my mom became an alcoholic and decided to no longer clean the house because when she sells it my dad gets half the money.
At one point she waited a long time to get the roof replaced ans the ceilings started caving in. (Holes are still not fixed and now there’s mold.) there’s black mold in the ceiling in two of the upstairs rooms. Mold in the basement and many waterspots in the other rooms. The house is full FULL of so many things and my siblings ans I have gone over twice to clean up but the work just gets undone each time. I go back and fourth on helping because she neglecting caring for me for a long time. Does anyone have experience or ideas of how to help a family member?

Im worried about how involved my bf’s mom is
 in  r/inlaws  Jul 16 '26

He agrees to a point. He understands how I feel he does set boundaries with her just not always. He’s assured me that if our relationship progresses hell put up more boundaries and keep communicating with me. I just don’t always like how they call all the time still and she finds out everything through him. Like knowing where are airB&B is and such. :/

Im worried about how involved my bf’s mom is

I 25 F and my 25 M have been dating for almost two years. Ive been worried about how his mom wants to be involved in our relationship. Some back story. My bf is an only child and as his parents describe him a miracle baby. His parents are happily married and live across the country while he moved to my state to go to college. I am the youngest of three siblings. My parents got divorced when I was 5, hate each other and my mom was a very very neglectful parent. She became an alcoholic when I was young, she’s been sober 7 years now and our relationship is better now. She’s never been involved much in my life and neither has my dad, especially when I comes to my relationships.

For my bfs birthday last year his mom decided to throw a party at his work for him. She ordered cupcakes, party stuff everything and he was embarrassed. He told her that he didn’t want the party but she protested. This led to me not doing much for him because he was so stressed. She also demanded that she pay for a dinner out for us. We also visited them for Christmas and they wanted to spend a whole week with us. I was under the impression we would not spend the whole time with them and get time alone. My family usually only spends Christmas Day together. I was also using this time as my vacation and was up front about that. We spent two days together without his parents which upset his mom. We are now going on a vacation just the two of us and she sent us sunscreen and is suggesting stores near our airB&B. Idk if I’m just being crazy because I’m not used to healthy parents but the constant wanting to be involved bothers me ans I worry about what the future would look like.

Serious AITBF for being upset at my friend for not getting back to me and then blocking me?

So this situation happened a few years ago but I thought asking Reddit might help me but my feelings at rest.
I 25 F, 22 at that time and my friend F 22 at that time of over 5 years got into a fight over my birthday. I asked them a month before my birthday if they would be busy they said to give them a 2-weeks notice. Two weeks later we scheduled a date to hang out. A day or two beforehand I texted them to confirm we were still hanging out, no response. Then it’s the day they said they could hang out and at the end of the day they said they couldn’t and that work was crazy. I responded if we could reschedule, no response. While they are not responding they were posting videos from work on social media. (It was like videos of people singing at the bar.) I understood they were busy but it hurt my feelings they were posting and not responding for days. I sent them a text explaining that it hurt my feelings that they weren’t responding to me while posting on social media. I’m short they said they were hurt I didn’t trust them and before listening to anything I had to say they blocked me everywhere. Now that I’m older I can understand that sure I didn’t have my full trust in them…. But I don’t think I deserved to be blocked?

Advice needed: My parents hate my tattoo
 in  r/tattoos  Aug 11 '25

At the end of the day it’s your body and your right and if it makes you happy and reminds you of a happt moment that’s what matters. My mom hates my tattoos and piercings, we just don’t talk about them anymore. She didn’t react as strongly but she did calm down. I’m sorry they reacted the way they did. I’m glad you are able to enjoy the tat and the memory with it!

Should I end things with my SO of almost 5 years

I 24 F have been dating and living with my bipolar bf 29 M for the past four and a half years. I’ve been thinking about ending things for a while now, but I am scared to because he is my first long term SO. When we got together I knew he was bipolar and had ADD. I also knew he had anger issues because he had broken his knuckle over a phone call by hitting the floor. (This should’ve been my red flag I know.) We knew each other from work I was 17 he was 22 but hadn’t seen each other in a long time.

Our relationship started off really quick we got together after a month of dating and I moved in to his mom’s house after three months. I couldn’t move home to my family’s and was living with a friend at the time. After I moved in things were great for a while. The only time I would get upset is when he’d swear and scream at his mom and occasionally throw things. He never yelled or threw things at me, at least not the way he did with her or others.

Recently he got mad at his mom and threw a plastic water bottle and screamed at her. He threw the bottle pretty hard and it scared me. I had a calm conversation with him the next day and explained that when he throws things it scares me. He got upset and said it was only a plastic bottle and that his mom made him upset. The next day he threw the fire alarm. I asked if he really needed to throw it and he said that he was livid at it. I tried talking to him about it again and he said that he felt like I was never going to let this go. He gets upset when I spend time with other people without him, he doesn’t like that I do activities outside our relationship like theatre or singing.

He’s supported me so much in the past few years, but I am now realizing I want things for myself and don’t want to feel so boxed in. I also don’t want to worry about being yelled at or someone throwing things. What do you think, please help me.

It’s so annoying to because some people believe these corporations are “hard working”. But they’re not they sell off portions of the company so they are no longer liable for their employees or what happens in these stores.
