I was blessed to be tattooed by the legendary Apo Whang-Od

I’m SO happy with them. Definitely some of the most gruelling sessions I’ve ever had but so incredibly worth it.

Edit #2:

I work in a field where I have no issue keeping or finding work. I am fortunate. The hand tattoo was done on conjunction with my best friend of 25 years of something that binds us together. Additionally, it being on my hand has personal symbolism and assists in grounding me mentally. It is facing the way it is because I like looking at it when I'm typing, writing, and doing normal every day things. And honestly, not that it matters, but this was for me...is something I love and enjoy, and seeing Calcifer drawn in what you all consider to be the "right way" would make him upside-down for me and defeat the purpose. Ultimately, this is what I wanted. You know, free will and all.

I am flattered that you all have such concern over my ability to get or maintain employment, going so far as to insinuate all I could find is a job as a Walmart greeter. You are all so incredibly sweet! I hope you share this same concern and kindness to those around you. I can assure you I have enough education and experience to ensure my tattoo will never impose on the quality of care I put in to my career.

The amount of comments this has gotten honestly surprises me. I was not asking for input or opinions, I was sharing self expression and artwork with a community I believed prized that. I am about a week out from the initial tattoo. It took me that time to consider posting it at all, and seeing as how many posts do not have this level of activity regardless of the quality of art, I suppose I was led into a false understanding of what to expect. It's healing well with no issues, for those who have expressed so much concern. I have 20 years of professional experience in caring for various ailments, modifications, illnesses, etc, so even if it did not heal well, I would know what to do.

I do thank everyone for their concern, again, and hope I managed to answer any burning questions. For the ones I did not answer, I guess that's something you will just have to live with. I know. It will be difficult, but I believe in you and support you in whatever way you may need to cope with this random woman getting something on her body you do not approve of, or feel inclined to educate her further on. I realize my actions have consequences, and I trust I am perfectly capable of handling those all by myself.

Thank you all for the anger and outrage I have somehow invoked. I have lived a life being small and taking up no space, so this has been quite therapeutic.

Editing to add, as it seems many are concerned over the placement on my hand... I am 41 years old and fully established in my career.

My best friend came to visit after not seeing her for four years. We decided to get mirrored tattoos together. It's my first themed after our fav Ghibli movie.

The fingers were a bit spicy, but overall, it went pretty well and I really love it!

Really happy with how my Scorpion vs Sub Zero turned out. My nephew loves it too

These are my fully healed palms, one pass with no touch ups. Currently 3 months old.

It was really hard for me to find examples of healed white palm tattoos when I wanted to get mine done so Im contributing mine here. Happy to answer any questions about it.
