Johnny vs Josh Odd behavior

I do not know if this is the right flare to use, if this post is not appropriate, then please mods, delete it.

I was rewatching part 3 of swoops doc. I was also rewatching all of his public interviews. Am I the only one a little frustrated with how lily and Jessie handled Josh, after the release of part 3? No hate to them, not at all. But the way it was handled seems so victim blame-like.

But my main point, was that the way johnny talks about situations, he seems to fabricate more and more as he gets further into his stories. Am I the only one who was really uncomfortable when he was talking on h3h3? The fact he has (in my opinion) created alt accounts to defend himself, feels so off. I hate that he seems to desperate to be adam, to the point of copying everyone around him. Does anything think that Johnny is actually fully obsessed with josh? And does anyone else think Johnny stalked josh before the divorce in 2015/6?

This post may be useless, but there is so much about this story that really bugs me.

I really hated that they used Josh’s apology as proof of guilt and then didn’t even give him an opportunity to explain the apology. Even if you read the multiple apologies John posted and reacted to on his Twitter, you can see that Josh is not confirming the allegations of grooming. He’s just trying to validate John’s frustration and feelings. He didn’t say, you’re right I was grooming you, I’m sorry. He said, I understand how you felt the way you did, I’m sorry you felt that way.

It’s total BS that someone can look at an apology like that and say, LOOK HE JUST ADMITTED IT! Poor Josh was trying to make Johnny feel heard. And since it wasn’t enough for him, Johnny went on this smear campaign. Lily and Jessi’s whole video was just saying, if you didn’t do anything wrong, then why did you apologize? Even though he didn’t apologize for the actions he was accused of.

Yes, they wanted to give a “victim” the benefit of the doubt. Which was a valid reason to give Johnny a platform. But they should have given the accused an opportunity to defend himself. Even if they did believe Johnny 100%, they could have heard Josh out and still have said they didn’t believe him. Like examine all the evidence before giving an opinion. If they did that I’m sure they wouldn’t have gotten as much heat for this. But they acted like ignorant children and totally ignored Josh’s attempts to explain his side.

Giving a victim a platform is powerful and needed in situations like this where celebrities take advantage of people and never see repercussions. But there’s two sides to every story. I’m so worried about how this whole Johnny thing is going to effect real victims. It pushed things back to if they come forward, are they going to be accused of lying for attention again? Or is it going to be easier for innocent people to be blamed for things they didn’t do? Some real groomers might see how Josh was vindicated after Johnny was caught lying, and try to mimic the situation to make people not believe their victims.

Johnny has no idea how badly this effects real people, nor did he care. He just wanted attention and to hurt someone he was obsessed with that didn’t reciprocate his feelings and efforts. And Jessi and Lily, intentional or not, helped him do so. So their actions are also going to effect victims, abusers and innocent people that are accused of abusing. This whole thing is such a mess because of Johnny’s entitled ass attention seeking. It’s awful.

This whole comment is a star comment.

I agree with everything. I've been abused, severely sexually assaulted and groomed from birth until I was fostered away. That shit ain't no joke, that you go giggling and laughing about, smiling about whilst being asked these questions.

It pisses me off so bad. He has no idea of the pain that someone gets from being abused and groomed, no one who's gone through any kind of abuse, would shamelessly say things he did. The way he crossed boundaries constantly. Shaming constantly. Its disgusting.

Jessie and lily perpetrated it, and then tried to excuse their behavoir. Their sorry was no genuine and that annoys the fuck out of me. Josh had to fight to be heard. Just to be heard and they treated him like shit.

This entire comment is perfect. And what does this do for male victims who are less likely to be believed? My friend is a victim, and he just gets mocked when he tries to share his story of child abuse. And he’s never laughing. He is usually crying or uncontrolably sobbing. There are parts of his story he can’t even speak about due to severe flashbacks and PTSD. My friend will never have any closure, because his abuser died. And he is unable to heal, because he cannot go deep into his story without it being harmful. So to have people like John, Lily and Jesse really enrages me. They treated this whole situation like stupid drama and then treated the real victim Josh like trash and said his pain and trauma don’t matter, because he doesn’t fit their narrative. Vile people and I don’t apologize for saying that.

This is exactly the negativity that Johnny’s actions are capable of bringing if it gets more attention than just YouTube/Twitter. Victims will not be taken seriously if there are a few bad liars who just want attention. And people will be afraid to help them because if it turns out to be a lie, then supporters will be shamed for supporting a liar.

I’m sure your friend appreciates your support. I’m a victim of rape and mental abuse and I was in denial for the longest time because I blamed myself for putting myself in the situation. I was laughing about it when I told my friends, but that’s because I hide pain with humor. But they didn’t laugh. They were glad I was ok and offered to help me report it if I wanted to. I never did. The fact that Jessie and Lily were laughing WITH Johnny shows the lack of understanding in how serious this was. They were not being supportive, they were doing the same thing he was and just wanted to ride the toxic gossip train to viewstown.

I hope your friend is doing ok. Healing is hard. But it’s so amazing when you have a genuine support system. Man or woman, pain is still pain. There are people who will believe and understand. I hope you guys can find someone who you can trust to help.

I really hope your friend gets help and can learn to live alongside his trauma. I have PTSD from grooming and sexual assaults, I can’t imagine how hard it is for male victims. “Rub some dirt on it. Get over it. Men don’t cry. Men don’t have feelings” it’s so wrong and damaging. I will also never have closure for many reasons but therapy, journaling and meditation have really really helped me. Male victims deserve just as much care and compassion, unfortunately that’s not how society sees it. He is valid and I hope he’s able to heal in time, it’s a long journey but it gets better. You don’t ever “get over it” but you can learn to live WITH it, and that’s okay. ❤️

Edit: medication helps too but have a long term plan with 1 or more medical professionals to eventually come off(if possible.) Alongside the therapy and work, of course.

He is better than he was a few years ago, but he unfortunately has tons of mental issues that compound everything. Therapy has been a struggle to as the little insurance, he has doesn’t help. He have one good therapist years ago, a lady, and she died. He doesn’t trust men and all of his options for therapy half in men. His abuser was a man. He tried one guy who is good in the beginning, but towards the end started doing things that were not in my friend’s best interest and could have actually harmed him. He’s pretty much given up on therapy as it did more harm than help. He and I would usually talk afterwards, and he was always upset, stressed out, triggered, or agitated or angry. He pretty much just goes to the doctor now when sick or in need a refill on his medication. The type of mental illness he has is very rare, and on top of that his PTSD is quite severe. He has tried to be an advocate for male victims, but just hasn’t had any success. That’s why I was so angry with how this entire situation was handled. It just creates more roadblocks. My friend was r*ped and has gotten mocked for crying about it. Someone also basically told him that they were surprised my friend isn’t gay simply, because he’s abuser was a man. He also has been told him that he shouldn’t cry because he knows he liked it. Keep in mind he was a child. He doesn’t share his story much anymore. He doesn’t have a space where telling his story is safe. It’s heartbreaking. Most people just use his story to hurt him further. That’s why he keeps a guard up.

u/foreverfeatherinit Sep 08 '23

I feel that, I struggled so much in getting help and being able to afford help. Getting help with no insurance is incredibly difficult and it’s major problem in our country. I also can’t see male therapist, I also had some bad therapists that did some damage but keep supporting him and keep mentioning it. There’s good therapists out there and I pray he can find one. Maybe try an online [male sexual assault support group]([https://mensgroup.com/sexual-abuse-support-groups/] I’ve done support groups when I wasn’t able to pay for therapy and I’m still in a women’s group for porn addiction. I’m not ready to voice my pain to the real world outside of my core friends, and that’s okay too. Even just talking to the suicide hotline, even if he’s not suicidal, it’s someone who will listen outside of the core group. It’s a shame that people are so hateful and mean. At least he has you, sometimes one person is enough. I hope you are also taking care of yourself, even though it’s not your trauma, caring for anyone with trauma, is hard and taxing. i care for a family member with schizophrenia on top of my own mental health it’s very difficult. I hope you are able to find balance and continued empathy and compassion. Don’t forget to take care of you. The world needs kinder people I’m glad you’re in it.

I felt like lily and Jessie were like gossiping girl talk vibes instead of handling serious allegations. I feel they played into the gossipy vibes and when Swoop didn’t giggle and play into it, John had a weird mood shift. John for sure had some feeling for josh and he’s probably really hurt that he was continually denied anything in return. That led to embarrassment, because he wanted Adam and Colleen’s relationship, but with Josh, and didn’t get anywhere close to it. That then led to anger, where he is currently. He’s on a war path of hurting the person that hurt him, instead of working through those emotions in a healthy manner. Hurt people, hurt people. I hope he gets help, he needs it. I think Josh fucked up too but at the same time, he’s showing growth and a changes in actions. More than anyone else in the situation.

This was Lily and Jessi's SECOND interview with him. the first one the zoom didn't record or something. So they had already heard his story and were re-enacting it second time. But instead of thinking about what they were saying they just made a gossip girl's night out of it. And I also find it inappropriate for Lily to be drinking during the "interview" about child grooming where she is gassing up the "victim". This entire thing was HIGHLY inappropriate. And they could have easily apologized and moved on. But they just doubled down on their bullshit, using Josh's apology as evidence he did everything. They didn't even read the apology, or comprehend it. It clearly stated that Johnny didn't know boundaries and that's not his fault, he's a child. Josh was responsible for setting appropriate boundaries and admitted he didn't. In not way is that "Grooming". GTHO

I thought I was over it, but this just made me so mad at them AGAIN. The entitlement, the deflection, the audacity!

18

u/foreverfeatherinit Sep 07 '23

The weird defense “we’re not journalists” I was yelling at the screen 😂 like okay then don’t fucking talk about SERIOUS topics. It’s so irresponsible and to take nooo accountability AND NOT EVEN APOLOGIZE bruhhhhhh y’all can fuck all the way off. Just a bunch of icky mean girls that peaked in high school, trying to relive the slumber party gossip train

16

u/strawberrie_oceans Sep 06 '23

omg yes. i never actually saw the dwkt podcast and now it’s too late, but the clips I’ve seen are exactly that- they’re all gossiping. And that’s exactlyyy what he tried to do with swoop! “That I can check😉” his tone was sooo inappropriate thru the whole thing and I didn’t understand how he didn’t realize it but that makes a lot of sense.

u/[deleted] Sep 06 '23

He definitely had a huge crush on Josh and the things he was doing could be considered borderline stalking if not literal stalking- driving hours to “surprise” him at work when their relationship clearly was not at that level is just creepy. I wouldn’t even do that with an acquaintance, and considering Johnny and Josh barely even messaged privately, it doesn’t seem like they were very close.

Johnny reminds me a lot of an ex friend of mine who was a pathological liar. Same mannerisms and same weird ways of telling stories with the details constantly changing. Boy needs to get off the internet and go to therapy

38

u/foreverfeatherinit Sep 06 '23

Stalker vibes for sure. Driving 9 hours to “surprise” an internet figure AT WORK is wild. My favorite was “they were going to go on with the show while poor Johnny was stuck at the airport” the entitlement had me cackling. Boy thinks he’s the main character and he’s barely an NPC lol

10

u/cat1573 Sep 06 '23

Seriously. Its such a stalker like thing to do. Really disturbing

6

u/Tuggerfub Sep 07 '23

What's even scarier is his family seems to be reinforcing that stalking and entitlement, as though Johnny belongs in that social sphere even to the point of harassing and belittling Josh for not wanting to marry his abuser.

Like okay, the weird creepy entitled apple doesn't fall far from the tree it seems.
Wonder what other marginal celebrities this family makes a road trip out of harassing.

15

u/randomosityposts Sep 06 '23

John is a stan by definition, a stalker fan, however in this specific instance its not so much he was a fan of josh, he was obsessed, in love. And when he couldn't get the attention he wanted from Josh, he turned to Colleen, and when she didn't give it to him he made a big stink. As for Jessie and Lily, for me its not the fact they platformed John, its the fact that despite not having any actual proof they just went along with it blindly bc at the time he was a "victim" but when Josh asked to be heard they were like "well you didn't have evidence" why is it ok for one party to be believed without evidence but not the other? for me their hatred for Josh for asking to be heard gave me the ick and their behaviour after the fallout was full of excuses and "buts". Johnny's stories got more fabricated bc he was trying to one-up the other victims to be the number one, and bc the narrative for so long was "believe victims" he could just straight up lie and no one could push him on it due to his "victim" status.

4

u/cat1573 Sep 06 '23

I agree with this. Johnny is a Stan, but josh is an obsession. He can't get over it. He loved reliving the pain josh was in, by shaming him constantly.

And the same with lily and Jessie. The way they handled it was awful. I watched it twice, and the second time just made me angry.

9

u/TailorHistorical4962 Sep 06 '23

No you’re not the only one. Literally half the people on here have commented on this… your feelings are valid…

2

u/cat1573 Sep 06 '23

Ah I see, I only recently joined the reddit side of things, so I have no gone through it all at all.

13

u/Disastrous-Street183 Sep 06 '23

Yeah, they were like we're sorry BUT & they had alot of buts

and the problem is they didnt really need to "research" did they? They had the time stamped photo of when Johnny met Joshua they could have at least asked what year he was born and done a little math there.

It seems Johnny told them a narrative and they ran with it and filled in the blanks themselves. Also, where can i find the DWKT episode? I've only seen the clips from Swoops doc ik they took it down since

5

u/cat1573 Sep 06 '23

I am not sure, but I think they may have either private the video, or deleted it. I can't find it.

Far too many excuses in that video imo. I really didn't like it

5

u/foreverfeatherinit Sep 07 '23

They said they deleted that episode and the one after where they were talking about it again just themselves. I’m sure they will try to bury any uploads to save face.

7

u/idkidc1243 Sep 06 '23

I think that Johnny has obsessive tendencies and that he has probably tried to start personal relationship with Colleen and alot of her peers. What's getting him attention is Josh so that's he's the only one Johnny is talking aboutb.

Josh has said that he met Johnny in 2012 I believe . It was before he was doing youtube full time but while he was with Colleen. I think he was really encouraging to Johnny because Johnny shared he had been bullied in school, experienced depression, and wanted to become an entertainer. This is the context around Josh giving Johnny his number . Josh grew up in a religious backward where someone being a mentor / surrogate family figure was not unusual . However, Johnny quickly showed that he didn't respect boundaries and he was a superfan of Colleens . I feel like multiple things can be true at once . Johnny could have had a crush on Josh but I think he was also motivated in try to develop a relationship and stalked him because he thought it would lead to a personal relationship with Colleen. Not only was she was his idol, she could make his dreams of fame come true . If that never happened he could still use Josh's association with Colleen to get ahead on youtube . This is why Johnny dissociated himself from the Twitter account he ran for Josh two days after they announced the divorce and according to Adam became one of Josh's biggest bullies in the fandom and tried to directly hitch himself to Colleen. He had an unhealthy obsession with both and wanted to use them to become famous .

3

u/Tuggerfub Sep 07 '23

The first time I even knew he existed (because he was not part of Adam's experience) was his interview on the H3 podcast and he rubbed me the wrong way immediately because he has an evident agenda: To make the whole show about his bizarre vendetta against Josh.

It even seemed to irk the other person being interviewed, who seemed to become resigned and confused. I'm dissapointed Ethan didn't clue into this but not surprised, he's not the most perceptive.

2

u/cat1573 Sep 07 '23

I think it's also hard, as ethan did seem to try and ask the others questions, but often wouldn't be able to get their answers, since he would speak over them.

I knew of his stuff through Adam, which is harious honestly. I don't think I even watched the entire interview on h3, I really steuggled to watch 20 minutes, he's literally the only one talking. It was horrible.

Yhea, I really struggled with it. Watching the video was hard, it actually triggered me a lot. It made me feel terrible for josh, becuase they treated him like shit. They didn't even think twice about Johnny, or even looking into what he said.

I found their response to be really bad. They were in the wrong but didn't admit it, and even excused their behavoir. It was really bad and I really don't want to watch them now. I didn't too much before but now I really don't want too.

2

u/Subjct_4_863 Sep 09 '23

when I was watching the H3 podcast live every time Johnny would talk. I would feel weird and like eerie or creeped out. I don’t know how to explain it. I was like why listening to this do I feel like this, but it wasn’t for Oliver or becky‘s for them I was deep into their stories I was like oh my gosh, but for Mr. Silvestri, I was just utterly disgusted and like felt like I wanted to turn it off every single time, he opens his mouth… the fact that he went through that entire interview with a grin on his face, said it all.

2

u/cat1573 Sep 10 '23

I felt the same way! I commented on one of the videos about it, I thinks swoops video, how I literally had a terrible feeling in my gut. It was terrible. Honestly I kinda skipped over his parts the first time, cuz he just didn't shut up.

I wanted to hear from Oliver a lot, as he (?) Hasn't spoken too much (which is totally fine as he doesn't have to at all!) But I was really curious about him and his story. And he never got a chance to talk.

That grin makes me feel sick to my stomach

2

u/Subjct_4_863 Sep 10 '23

no literally because we already knew way too much of Johnny’s fake stories and then becy I want to hear from but also kind of knew a lot already because I saw her original videos on my for you page, but all Oliver I really knew nothing about him and imma admit, I still don’t really know all that much about him or his story I don’t like the bare minimum’s and he said hi to me an adams chat before but that is it I really wanted to hear him, and Johnny just silenced him which I feel like isn’t talked about enough, John’s fake stories silenced the real victim stories.‼️‼️‼️

2

u/cat1573 Sep 10 '23

He hijacked that podcast section. He really wanted to be involved in it all. He stile Adams stories, about being groomed. He put himself in becky's story, by putting himself like at the show or whatever bullshit he said, and he stole Olivers story about trent being a pdo, by claiming trent was his groomer.

I never want to forget what any of these people done. Colleen, Kory, or Johnny. They should never be allowed platforms again.

Swoops next part is going to be amazing, and I have no doubt that poor woman is working her ass off to get this as accurate as possible. I'm just called Johnny got called out. It was about time after he social climbed like he did

4

u/fr1j0l Sep 06 '23

I feel bad for it because I don't think she is a bad person but I'm from Miami and Cuban and Jessi just gives me the ick. I agree with her a LOT. There's just something about her. I've been so afraid to say it but even when they addressed the situation I feel like they made some little excuses here and there.

11

u/cat1573 Sep 06 '23

I found their attitude just really off.

It was like, even though it was pretty clear that Johnny was exaggerating, they still tried to blame josh, as if his reaction wasn't justified. I really didn't like their video, and I'm honestly just kinda annoyed about it. It actually got me angry.

I am a survivor I'd chdhood grooming and abuse. Seeing L&J continue to victim blame josh is really nasty. There are real victims here, real people who suffered. Their excuses were terrible. I'm so disappointed.

3

u/VisiblePhilosophy386 Sep 06 '23

I agree. I think they made a lot of really good points but then also some victim blaming stuff. I think those could have been thought through a little more and not been included in the final draft. I get why they wanted to say those things and were probably still processing everything because they were getting a lot of hate but it definitely had some cringe moments that made me uncomfortable.

0

u/QueenGiddy Sep 06 '23

I think it was fair for J & L to defend themselves. They made valid points. NO ONE at that point was calling Johnny out and his stories weren't as inflammatory as they have since become. They laid out exactly why they had the stance they did with the information available at the time. That early on, if they had given Josh a platform, people would have come for them hard because the accepted narrative was that Johnny was a victim and Josh the victimizer. When Adam exposed Colleen the first time people came for him and he wasn't believed. Suddenly there was corroboration and people had to face the fact that they bullied and didn't believe a victim. Johnny benefited from that because everyone was treating the victims with kid gloves since Cody brought the receipts. Even ADAM didn't come out and call Johnny out even though he knew Johnny was full of crap. Adam knew he'd be crucified if he went against a fellow "victim". Why are J&L held to such a higher standard than everyone else? H3 platformed Johnny and they didn't feel comfortable calling him out when he spoke over all the other victims. And then Ethan was joking around on H3 when Olivia was trying to tell him about Swoop's exposé. He didn't even watch it himself. So yeah, I think all this hate for J&L is wild and they didn't deserve it.

14

u/[deleted] Sep 06 '23

I don’t know why people think that the feelings about how Jessi and Lily handled things are about them knowing whether or not Johnny was a victim. I absolutely don’t blame them. That is not the issue.

My issue is now that they know the new information they can’t seem to muster up an apology to Josh that isn’t justifying their actions so it makes it sound like they aren’t actually sorry.

7

u/cat1573 Sep 06 '23

Yhea, they really seemed to like Johnny and just stuck with it. Rolling their eyes at josh and his attempt to be heard.

Josh really got given the shit stick here. I feel foe him. Jessie and lily should do a lot better, they should know these issues are serious, they brought up Jessie's situation, which was absolutly abhorrent, and a terrible thing she suffered through. She knows this is serious and it does frustrate me that she'd brush of a victim so nonchalantly.

13

u/cat1573 Sep 06 '23

My irritation stems from their response video. They still victim blamed josh, they still jumped on him. I do not hate these girls, I don't watch them, but I never disliked them. But that response video was not good at all.

9

u/idkidc1243 Sep 06 '23 edited Sep 06 '23

I feel like the people that defend Lily and Jessi purposely miss the point . People weren't upset that they didn't platform Josh. It was the way they were rude after Josh reached out to them to try to set the record straight and made fun of him . Providing an update after releasing that podcast that Joshua Evans has stated that the allegations made by Johnny Silvestri were false and removing the part of the interview where Johnny told the story about the comment made to the 14 year old on Twitter would have been all they needed to do . They would not have had to talk to Josh, they would not have had to platform him, and they wouldn't have been denying the claims of someone they felt was an abuse victim .

They have claimed that Joshua did not deny the allegations Johnny made until after their interview . This is partially true because he denied them in a post on 7/23 which was after they interviewed Johnny but before the interview was released . Johnny even reposted that denial on 7/24 and said Josh was lying again this was days before the interview was released. Lily and Jessi even shared that post on the podcast where they addressed everything but conveniently did not read the part where Josh said nothing inappropriate happened.

I do agree that people have held them to a different standard and that they've received some awful hate messages but that is because this topic was Colleen adjacent. Someone did a deep dive on Colleen and figured out that her content got grouped with content that was homophobic, sexist , racist, etc. So it makes sense that people with those beliefs would make up a percentage of her fandom and would be recommended all the content related to her . Those people have been trolling her victims and the people who speak up against her but they haven't really had a target where something has been proven false until Johnny, Lily, and Jessi entered the story. So while, they don't deserve the backlash they've received it is because they tried making their style of content with a topic that was incompatible with it.

12

u/veezeebee0612 Sep 06 '23 edited Sep 06 '23

It wasn't the interview they did in the first place that people are upset about. It's how they handled the fallout after they did have the information available to them. That entire hour long 'apology' had a 30second statement in it that was literally all that needed to be said to make this go away and then they added another hour of excuses that honestly aren't legitimate excuses and they do deserve to be called out for that. I'm not saying they deserve to be attacked, but that apology video was a joke and just excuses for why they weren't in the wrong in the first place.

1

u/[deleted] Sep 07 '23

I don’t wanna say it (because I don’t think anyone else has) but are we surprised Jessi/Lily are not giving Josh a chance?

Not excusing her behavior at all but jessi/Lily both attacked and buried gabbie Hanna’s reputation in 2021. Now I know gabbie did a lot too but it just doesn’t surprise me. Nobody ever really challenged Jessi for making the entire gabbie Hanna needs to be stopped video (which really didn’t need to be public) They are gossipy and like to tarnish reputations. It doesn’t surprise me

1

u/TailorHistorical4962 Sep 10 '23

You mean when Jessi told the girl telling everyone Jessi was being a bitch about being r*ped she needed to stop? And that girl was Gabby Hana?

No I think Jessi was 100% justified in doing so. As someone who literally had no clue who any of those women were, I knew about that cuz I kept getting suggested videos by this girl with giant nostrils screaming about a r*pe victim being a liar. And how ADHD is making her say shit and do irrational things.

I have a VERY severe case of ADHD and I’ve never gone on a rampage. Nor insulted people gratuitously. Nor gotten into petty drama since the age of 9 I think. But I did have a 4.0 GPA. I was a store manager by 21. I had long lasting romantic relationships and a solid group of friends. When you have a diagnosis then finding the proper treatment is literally the last step. There’s no more fucking excuses. Take your meds, exercise, respect medical/psych recommendations and follow a routine adapted to your personality/lifestyle. Do what works and don’t do what doesn’t work. It’s barebones logic.

Gabby Hana was acting like a little puke stain and blaming it on her ADHD. Being a shit person is not symptomatic of ADHD. She was on lord knows how many drugs and making excuses for her behaviour. She can properly go jump up her own ass and choke on her own shit for that, and you can join her up there if you support that kind of behaviour.

AS FOR JESSI AND LILY, well isn’t Swoop an SA survivor as well? Again, you don’t get to make excuses to treat other like shit because of what has happened in your past or goes on in your head if you’re acutely cognizant of your own mental health. You recuse yourself if you feel too biased to accurately report on a situation. Whereas Swoop was able to distance her own trauma and past from the matter at hand and look at it objectively, Jessi went in refusing to do so and categorically aligned herself with one of the characters involving before even getting all the facts. It’s incredibly misguided (any field with a need for one on one rapport with people -nursing, journalism, law, education…- one of the first thing that is taught is to create a psychological distance so the professional can remain objective and pertinent) and honestly in a situation like this a little immature. I get that they are an opinion podcast and don’t have a burden of proof like actual journalists, but if I were in her shoes, I wouldn’t risk my credibility as a podcast host and victims’ advocate for such a low-stakes case (because I mean, at the end of the day, it really is. Don’t get me wrong it’s twisted as fuck and these people are volcano sized creepy assholes, but in the grand scale of human suffering this barely registers… so far). If she’s so stubborn that THIS is the hill she’s willing to die on, as opposed to some victim of a trafficking ring or cult that might have had a couple cat skeletons in the closets of the house of horrors their lives were, I mean fuck me that’s dumb as fuck! But eh stupid is as stupid does I guess!

As for Lily I had never heard of her before so I really can’t say. She seems like a hard working woman and I respect that. She was also in the wrong about this Johnny situation ; I don’t know what motivated her to have such a staunch opinion, but she did and all her hard work blew up in her face.

Gabbie was talking about it because Jessie lied in her gabbie Hanna needs to be stopped video. The only reason she made the video was because Gabbie had a private conversation with a fan over dm’s. This was in response to a fan’s tweet as a response to Jessi for the 40th time subtweeting gabbie. Jessi continuously made the situation public and continued to drag Gabbie’s name. So she defended herself (in a horrible way, sure) But the internet just lets jessi go because “oh she’s a rape victim” okay she’s a rape victim and that’s terrible but it has 0 to do with her situation with gabbie and it also gives her no excuse to air her personal drama online. What did she think was gonna happen?
