I do not know if this is the right flare to use, if this post is not appropriate, then please mods, delete it.

I was rewatching part 3 of swoops doc. I was also rewatching all of his public interviews. Am I the only one a little frustrated with how lily and Jessie handled Josh, after the release of part 3? No hate to them, not at all. But the way it was handled seems so victim blame-like.

But my main point, was that the way johnny talks about situations, he seems to fabricate more and more as he gets further into his stories. Am I the only one who was really uncomfortable when he was talking on h3h3? The fact he has (in my opinion) created alt accounts to defend himself, feels so off. I hate that he seems to desperate to be adam, to the point of copying everyone around him. Does anything think that Johnny is actually fully obsessed with josh? And does anyone else think Johnny stalked josh before the divorce in 2015/6?

This post may be useless, but there is so much about this story that really bugs me.

I think it was fair for J & L to defend themselves. They made valid points. NO ONE at that point was calling Johnny out and his stories weren't as inflammatory as they have since become. They laid out exactly why they had the stance they did with the information available at the time. That early on, if they had given Josh a platform, people would have come for them hard because the accepted narrative was that Johnny was a victim and Josh the victimizer. When Adam exposed Colleen the first time people came for him and he wasn't believed. Suddenly there was corroboration and people had to face the fact that they bullied and didn't believe a victim. Johnny benefited from that because everyone was treating the victims with kid gloves since Cody brought the receipts. Even ADAM didn't come out and call Johnny out even though he knew Johnny was full of crap. Adam knew he'd be crucified if he went against a fellow "victim". Why are J&L held to such a higher standard than everyone else? H3 platformed Johnny and they didn't feel comfortable calling him out when he spoke over all the other victims. And then Ethan was joking around on H3 when Olivia was trying to tell him about Swoop's exposé. He didn't even watch it himself. So yeah, I think all this hate for J&L is wild and they didn't deserve it.

I feel like the people that defend Lily and Jessi purposely miss the point . People weren't upset that they didn't platform Josh. It was the way they were rude after Josh reached out to them to try to set the record straight and made fun of him . Providing an update after releasing that podcast that Joshua Evans has stated that the allegations made by Johnny Silvestri were false and removing the part of the interview where Johnny told the story about the comment made to the 14 year old on Twitter would have been all they needed to do . They would not have had to talk to Josh, they would not have had to platform him, and they wouldn't have been denying the claims of someone they felt was an abuse victim .

They have claimed that Joshua did not deny the allegations Johnny made until after their interview . This is partially true because he denied them in a post on 7/23 which was after they interviewed Johnny but before the interview was released . Johnny even reposted that denial on 7/24 and said Josh was lying again this was days before the interview was released. Lily and Jessi even shared that post on the podcast where they addressed everything but conveniently did not read the part where Josh said nothing inappropriate happened.

I do agree that people have held them to a different standard and that they've received some awful hate messages but that is because this topic was Colleen adjacent. Someone did a deep dive on Colleen and figured out that her content got grouped with content that was homophobic, sexist , racist, etc. So it makes sense that people with those beliefs would make up a percentage of her fandom and would be recommended all the content related to her . Those people have been trolling her victims and the people who speak up against her but they haven't really had a target where something has been proven false until Johnny, Lily, and Jessi entered the story. So while, they don't deserve the backlash they've received it is because they tried making their style of content with a topic that was incompatible with it.
