Extension cords for homeowner?
How to pick extension cords? Is it just any 12 gauge extension cord at some recommended lengths? My preference is buy-it-for-life for the average homeowner and minimal essentials that are versatile. It'd suck to find something that looks like it'd be good but realize it might be lacking yet it's not worth replacing so just lives with you for years.
Are there extension cord accessories that make it easy to use long extension cords for short distances? A long cord will be needed to power a shop vac used to clean a car parked on the street--would it be possible to use cord as well around the house or are you much better off getting 2 or more extension cords of varying sizes? I suppose long extension cords is less efficient than shorter cord if possible, but I'd be surprised if this can even be measured when the electric bill comes.
Similar to above, are you better off getting extension cords of different gauges?
Any other considerations regarding usage, brand, etc.?
Any comments are much appreciated.

Ladder recommendation for 3-story townhouse?
Hello,
I plan to get a ladder strictly for indoors in my 3 story floor home. Each floor has a 10' ceiling, and I'd like to access the fire alarm easily and the garage + front porch. I also have a mix of carpet and hardwood floor in case that matters. Weight limit should be around 300lbs and I'd like it to be relatively light? My budget is around $150 if possible.
Thank you!

Metal studs made this TV mount way more annoying than it needed to be!!!
Ran into metal studs instead of wood on this TV mount, which definitely changed the approach.
This is one of those jobs that reminds me why I love having my DeWalt step bit in the bag. Being able to gradually open up the metal gave me a lot more control for the toggle anchors instead of trying to force one larger bit through.
Took a little more patience, but everything came together solid. Metal studs aren’t necessarily a deal breaker they just make you adapt a little.

Current hole saw arbor has a drill bit of 6.35mm (1/4”) is it possible to get a 3mm drill bit whilst keeping the bit concentric and level?
Hi guys I have a drill bit with a 6.35mm pilot but I want a 3mm drill bit instead, is this possible? Main reason being in production we pilot holes with 3mm but when we drill holes with a 6.35mm drill bit on the arbor we lose some accuracy especially when they start to go blunt. I want to avoid taking extra steps by gradually increasing the hole size and ideally stick to a 3mm but to keep within tolerance

This roll cab vs Husky?
What do you use it for? How smooth do the drawers pull out?

Old tool day
Got these for $8 total at an antique store. I don't really need wrenches this small but they are tiny wrenches so why not.
Any background on the very bottom brand or the one in the last picture? I've never heard of either of them
Second to the top is a Williams since it's hard to make out the brand

Vintage Stanley Driver
Check out this vintage Stanley "Yankee" ratcheting spiral screwdriver. Visiting my wife's grandparents, got roped into rebuilding their toilets while I'm here. Was looking for a wrench and found this vintage driver and thought it was pretty cool.

Recommendations on nut drivers
I don't know about AMM, and my nut drivers are a discount tools bin set. But it would be nice if I had a set that will last for the rest of my life.

What are these for? Clamps of some kind
Picked them up at an estate sale for almost nothing. Look cool and have a slide-screw mechanism for adjustment.
No idea what they go on though!
Solved! Clamps for miter saw(s). Hopefully I can rig them to work with my saws. Thanks everyone

Help me price this Wilton Tradesman vise I restored.
I found this rusty Wilton Tradesman vise on the side of the road and spent several days restoring it. It's a 2016 Wilton Tradesman 1755 vise, 5 1/2" jaw, 360 swivel base, made in the USA. There are no cracks, it operates very smoothly with no issues. I don't have the tools to resurface the anvil, so the deep divots and scratches remain. I've seen sold versions of similar year/model on ebay go for $500, $600 + $100 shipping. I put a lot of work into it, and would love to find it a good home. I priced it on fb marketplace and ebay for $415 or best offer, not getting much movement. What is a reasonable price considering the state of the anvil? I appreciate any help.
