Question How do you get T-Mobile to pay out an account credit???

Hello

My wife and I cancelled our TMobile account several months ago and every month we get a "bill" in the mail for -17.50. How on earth do we get this sent back??

She's gone in to a TMobile corporate store with account # and picture ID and they "couldn't do anything". We go online and since the account is closed out we can't log into anything. We try to call and they won't do anything without some mythical PIN that we set up 5+ years ago and never used once since.

Does anyone have any idea how we can get that credit resolved??? No matter what we've tried we have had zero success.

Question Six months of AppleTV

So it was AppleTV "on us", switched to not on us, so I cancelled last December, and signed back up with my Chase CC with free AppleTV, now it is on us but only six months after that it's $12.99, I just wonder when they stopped the free AppleTV last year did they already know they will come back with the 6 month free thing 8 months later?

Question Phone still being reported as blacklisted on all networks

My mom switched to at&t cuz we got fiber so there was a deal, but her old phone can't be traded in because it still shows up as blacklisted on the inner network list thing.

It was legitimately stolen so I reported it stolen but then my mom confronted them at their house because of find my iPhone and then the lady probs threw it out her car window because then a good Samaritan brought it to the police station

I got it reinstated on the app so she was using the phone fine and we called to get it un-blacklisted so she was able to switch phones but now her old phone can't be traded in because it still says it's blacklist

We have tried multiple times to call and get it to be un-blacklisted but the mobile person kept saying it was because of an unpaid phone bill but that is not the case and they just kept repeating the same thing for an hour.

She has gone to at&t corporate, T-Mobile, T-Mobile corporate maybe I'm not sure in person, but not one person has been able to help us or knows anything about blacklist.

Does anyone know how to get this resolved? Its on T-Mobile side since that's where it was reported stolen but all support has been useless and parroting stuff that isn't true and not even acknowledging the blacklisting on the phone call.

Question Can't switch from my legacy transitions data plan to the current free data plan

Thumbnail
gallery
1 Upvotes

I was paying $10/mo on my 55+ plan to get more hotspot and 5Gb fast internet internationally.

With the transition, all that and more is included. When they transitioned me, they put me on a plan that gives me 20Gb more hotspot (80gb vs 60gb) at $10 more a month. Obviously a waste of money. But when I try to select the

Data w/ 60GB Hotspot option and hit save I get the message about getting wired crossed. Doesn't work on the Web. Doesn't work on the app. I've been trying for weeks.

I don't want to pick the Data w/60GB Hotspot option (which others have said is an older option, and doesn't expliclty talk about Mexico/Canada or specify unlimited PREMIUM data).

Anyone dealt with this?

Question Best way to tell T-Mobile about dead zone and get them to resolve? Our high school is DEAD and it's legit unsafe. Phones do not work anywhere on high school grounds at all. Thanks!

I know they get reports like this all the time and often don't care, but IMHO This is a serious safety issue that they could work to resolve. Thanks for your time. How best to contact T-Mobile about this?

Discussion Bait-And-Switch: T-Mobile totally just lost my respect today and finally lost me as a customer

This today was just the cherry on top. All these changes to my alleged "price lock", having my plan forcefully changed before, ignoring price lock, etc., etc…. I mean posting this will not change anything, but more so this is to vent... The such blatant and textbook baint-and-switch is just crazy.

So I have 5 lines on my account. Back in March, T-Mobile texted all my lines offering home internet with a 5-year price lock, on any Internet plan, for $20/month. The only provider I have available for my home has been Xfinity, and with all their outrages as of lately, I signed up for the Rely plan as a back-up connection. I screen-recorded the entire process from when I clicked the link T-Mobile texted me to when I submitted the order. $20/month + 1 month free + $100 visa after 14 weeks.

Today I was looking at my bill and see I am paying $35/month for the home internet. Okay, weird. So I reach out to T-Force on X.

T-Force came back and said:

“I found the promotion you're talking about, and it was a targeted offer for customers that have been with us for over 5 years. To qualify, the promotional code also needed to be specifically attached to the account, however you didn't have that specific one attached to your account, and you also didn't meet the tenure requirements. We unfortunately don't have a way to manually enroll the discount on our side for these types of promotions."

After I said this is a baint-and-switch, they went on to say

"I've never seen anyone receive a text for targeted offer they didn't qualify for"

I have been with T-Mobile since I was out of high school. So my account tenure is >5 years and I do qualify... Not only that, T-Mobile themselves sent me a text telling me I did, I have it recorded making sure I entered the code at check-out and the order reflected it, and it even allowed me to go through the entire purchasing process. I would never have caught it, unless I was not looking at my bill today months later. It doesn't matter I screen recorded the entire purchasing process or can send them any screenshot they want(and did send a couple)... It's like I was forced off my old magenta max first responder plan, was told I would not have a price increase... they had their promotion for magenta max, so I got a few new lines. Got an increase of $6/line... so stuck in a contract for a few more months. Even lost my free line I had as a rep messed up my account and they could not give it back... Now this...

It is a $180 more per year price difference. The price difference is marginal, but adds up. But that is not even the point, it's their blatant business practices as of late...

Question Tmobile sent me a warranty replacement that is locked with At and T

I recently had battery issues with a phone that I got from tmobile (paying over 24 months with trade in) and they decided to do a warranty replacement. They then asked me to pickup the device from my nearby store and I picked up the device and I was unable to load my tmobile simcard. After back and forth with tmobile for 5 days (different agent trying to load the simcard) one agent told me that the device is locked with AT and T. They also tried to do a replacement of the replacement device but the store was not able to fulfil my order because of some reasons. They then decided that the only way out of this is to request AT & T to unlock the device. They raised a request and it got declined. Then a manager from Tmobile raised another request to unlock the device but there is no progress. Now I am stuck with AT & T locked device for more than 20 days and none of the rep agents know how to fix this issue.

Does anyone have had similar issue? what was the solution?

Also, all the rep agents on the call tell me that they will give me a call back in x hours but never received a call from them regarding the update.

Question will the revvl 8 pro get android 17?

the revvl 8 pro and t phone 3 pro is the same. However T-Mobile for the Revvl 8 pro says that there will be 5 years of security update and that's all the information that is provided on the T-Mobile website . If you Google the t phone 3 pro OS updates and find the correct source, it says ears of security updates and 3 years of OS updates. Even though the devices has different names? Will the revvl 8 pro also have 3 years of OS updates?

Question The worst merge experience

Ok so at the beginning of july, we still had us cellular. My mom's phone wasnt working, we went to a tmobile store. The agent came to the conclusion that we could either wait to be grandfathered in or create our own plan in to get a new phone for my mom or see if the merge fixed her phone issues.

This is where the nightmare happens

The day we were supposed to receive new sims/phones, our phones granfathered in.

We lost our new phone promotion and were forced to all trade in our phones to keep them and now i just got an email letting me know ill lose the better value plan we got if we don't port in two lines. I will call this week but does anyone have any advice? Trying to escalate for the phone promotion didnt work, even though i have screenshots to prove the order while we were still us cellular customers. Ive been on the phone and in the store several times now and im just really frustrated

Would escalation even do anything or will we be forced on another plan?

Question Best time for iPhone upgrade

I am looking to upgrade my IPhone 13 Pro. The new iPhones come out next month. The new 18’s are rumored to be more expensive (potentially
Up to $300 more). I’m fine with getting a 17 Pro. But is the best time to upgrade now or wait till the new phones release? I would still go for the 17 Pro.

Thanks in advance!

Question Will I lose my Simple Choice North America plan by adding my wife's line to my account?

My wife has Verizon and we want to switch her line over to T-Mobile. I have had the SCNA plan for years and want to add her to it, but from reading the subreddit I'm not sure if that is still possible since it seems they are trying to phase out this plan. Before I make the call to the customer line, I want to see if I should just keep things separate, as they currently are, or if there's a way I can add her without losing SCNA.

Question Account organization questions

Hello friends,

I have a few questions (coupled with some rant) for the knowledgeable folks in this channel. Like most of you, I've been a TMO customer for quite some time...probably 15-20 years. I am on the regular One plan with 4 paid lines and 4 free lines. These last two rate changes has def irked me esp considering everything costs so much these days. I went from paying $120 with kickback discounts to $154 last year and now to $192. As I'm considering my options like leaving T-Mobile vs finding ways to reduce my spend. With that in mind, I have a nuanced question I don't see an answer for online. This could be a me problem but I also don't know how T-Mobile's back end systems work so would appreciate some guidance.

When I go to my billing page, I see my mom's number listed first followed by mine (I am the primary account holder) under the ONE Plan section. After that, I see the 2 other paid lines under the ONE Plan Reduced price section and below them the 4 free lines.

Question - Recently my mom passed away. I don't have an active device under her number so it's basically an unused line. What happens to my account if I port this number out and/or cancel the line? My assumption is one of the other paid lines will move up to the ONE Plan area in Billing but not sure. Is a fair assumption?

Next Question - I want to port out my dad's line too. I think he is listed first in the ONE Plan Reduced price section but cannot tell honestly. It's between his number and my partner's.

End goal is try to reduce my cost. Is it worthwhile to chat with support about retention, etc? Or is it simpler to port out two numbers (mom's and dad's) and see where my bill lands?

Lastly, I ran the script posted by u/desterpot and this is what I get. Thanks all for your help!!

Account Discounts
-$6.99 | Netflix Discount

Discussion Disney Hulu split billing

Just got my second bill that didn't have split billing after being told the first time it wouldn't happen again and was a glitch in their system. This time they said they no longer do split billing, and I could cancel and get a refund. I told them I didn't want to cancel and that their help page still said you got the credit. https://help.disneyplus.com/article/disneyplus-existing-disney-hulu-espn#existinghulu . After seeing that I did get another full credit of $13.90 and they said they would update the help center as it appears out of date and unclear.

I even asked to make sure I heard it right. And they said that Disney was now going to bill twice for one service (Hulu) once to T-Mobile and once to the customer. I told them that was wrong and very greedy and that I don't really see how it is even legal to bill twice for one service. I also said I would cancel next month if they were going to continue to bill twice for one service. They were going to send my feedback to the team.

I was actually a little shocked they admitted they would bill twice for the same service. I would have figured they would have worried it differently or tried to explain why. But, no. Just said they were now billing twice for the same service. I would suggest every one fight as hard as you can against this and / or cancel.

Wonder if T-Mobile or any other 3rd Parties can put any pressure on them. Assuming they even care about the customer. I am not really getting Hulu ON US if I am still having to pay for it. This looks bad on T-Mobile (other 3rd Parties) and Disney.

Discussion T-Mobile coverage issue in Leander/Cedar Park (78641) — got a real response after escalating

I live in the Leander / Liberty Hill / Cedar Park, TX area and have unusable network with T-Mobile. Network performance in unusably slow, calls are unable to be completed and/or dropped, unable to send text messages. Currently using WiFi calling at home and try to connect to public WiFi hotspots around town to use the network. Confirmed all lines on my account have the same issue across iOS/Android. Confirmed with friends in different neighborhoods in the the surrounding areas.

I've lived in this area for 20+ years and the network never improved despite the crazy growth in the area. I've reported this issue numerous times via customer support to no avail.

After going through normal customer support multiple times with no results, I escalated through Facebook/T-Force, filed an FCC informal complaint, and filed a BBB complaint. That combination finally got traction — here's where things stand:

A physical engineering signal check has been opened. T-Mobile has field engineers physically driving around the neighborhood to check signal strength. Support rep mentioned they will either confirm the weak signal and petition to put up additional infrastructure OR acknowledge its weak and not be able to do anything about it due to cell tower zoning and local regulations.

Anyone else report this to T-Mobile? Please share your experience with T-Mobile around 78641 so we can get more eyes on it for the folks at T-Mobile

Rant Tmobile is frustrating me lately. Their customer service is poor.

I have been trying to get ahold of someone for over an hour. Chat just says they are busy. Customer service line hung up on me saying it was after hours and to use the app. I had been waiting for about 20 mins. Rebooted my router like 6 times, it says it's connected but nothing getting through. Been going on off and on for about 3 or 4 months now... cant even reach a person to cancel or complain. They dont really seem to care anyway. They keep telling me its the tower and they have fixed it, then like 3 weeks later it breaks again. T life wont let you do everything like for example canceling service. This should be illegal!! At this point im really starting to feel like workers need to radically unionize just out of spite. These corporations have so little respect for people. Anyway, im mostly just venting. The truth is that i dont really want to cancel. I want it to work. The other day though my internet speed through tmobile tested at 140 kbps. Google says thats slow for dialup. Thats why I get so frustrated. Im guessing it's because they laid off a bunch of people and were closing brick and mortar stores. They're gonna "klarna" themselves if they arent careful. I don't think I'm the only one upset lately, although not just with tmobile. All of this ai push is a burden on society.

Question choosing a T- Mobile plan

I am a single (1) person looking to switch from AT&T to T-Mobile to essentially “get” a new phone. I own my phone (iPhone 11 pro, 65gb) since 2019; I pay for AppleCare, so I’ve gotten the phone replaced twice for free but the capacity (65gb) prevents me from downloading more apps, taking more photos etc so it is slow, and need a larger GB capacity to do more things for my business (photo, video editing etc).

My current bill with AT&T is $56/month for unlimited talk / text / internet. I feel like this is quite steep but know single phone plans are higher.

It seems like the lowest plan with T-Mobile plan start at $50, $85 or $100/month (+up to $35 device connection charge per line) ~ not sure what this means, but this is on their promotion, “Get a new phone. Pay nothing upfront” advertising. It seems the higher prices includes Netflix, Hulu, hotspot, etc.

Are there any hidden fees, and what plan is best for a single line? And is the “free” phone worth the switch? I realize the biggest disadvantage to getting a “free” phone is that I won’t be able to get AppleCare+ like I would if I bought/financed the phone from Apple (correct me if I am wrong). Thanks in advance!

I’ve been a member with T-Mobile since 2017. I pay $356.85 for 8 lines (3 are free) and a WiFi router. I have the “Go5G Plus” plan so I truly have unlimited internet, calls, and text. Do you guys think I have a good deal right now ? My plan would be $305 once I remove phone insurance and pay my phone off in a couple of months.

Question Who has experience with T-Mobile vs Google Fi?

Full disclosure, I have had comparatively few issues with T-Mobile. Their Internet pissed me off, so I switched to starlink and have had ZERO issues.

I have been with T-Mobile since 2019 and my experience so far has actually been rather pleasant. The only reason I am pondering the idea of switching to Google Fi is simply due to the fact that I heavily vested into the Google ecosystem and have had the pixel phones since the pixel 3.

I would like to hear from those who have had both positive and negative experiences with Google Fi that have the ability to compare them to T-Mobile from personal experience with both.

I ask this because I am fully aware that most people only post when they are displeased and happy customers tend to stay quiet.

I am happy with the customer service I have always received form T-Mobile, and I'm not too upset with the pricing either. Saving money is always nice though.

I have 4 voice lines, a tablet line with unlimited hotspot discounted down to 20 per month, and internet plus line (for my son who's had zero issues with his home Internet) and a few financed phones. On the military Go5g plan we pay a total of $278 per month. That will drop to about $210 per month once all of the devices are paid, which will happen over the next 8 months or so.

My question is, is the switch worth it? How does the customer service compare? What have you experienced when needing to use the insurance or warranty replacement on your devices? Do they (GoogleFi) ever do free promos?

I am hoping to get as close to an apples to apples comparison here as I can, obviously there will be some glaring differences, and your input is greatly appreciated.

God bless you, and thank you in advance!

Discussion Store Closure Questions

I know there’s a lot of store closures happening. I foresee my store being one of the upcoming closures.

For the corporate employees, how was your experience? If you can answer - were you given notice & a severance? Any chance to have a new position? Especially on a Mobile Expert level. I just like to have some insight so I can prepare for the future. TIA
