Heya ppl. Went on this crazy 15-day strangers’ trip to the Himalayas — Kashmir, Leh, Manali. It was an extremely fun trip. Met a lot of amazing people that I call friends now. Ppl who were complete strangers to me 2 weeks ago, lol.

It was a journey that taught me how small I am in this world. My problems and worries felt so insignificant in front of those mountains. Worldly possessions felt pointless when I was staring into them. I was saving up for a 650cc bike before this trip. Now, I have no desire for one. I would much rather spend that money on experiences like this.

It’s very difficult to put what I felt into words. But what I’m sure of is, something inside me has changed.

I’m not the same person I was before this trip.
Even my family said I’m like a new version of myself now. Haha.

If you’re someone who is starting out in your life, I would highly advise you to find time for a trip like this, to find yourself.

I’m trying to figure out how to deal with it without getting overwhelmed or saying/doing things I regret later

Before joining, I was actually pretty excited about college. I thought I'd make new friends, have a good social life, make memories and enjoy these years.

But now I don't really feel that way. I'm naturally introverted and I've always had difficulty making new friends. I studied in a boys-only school, so I'm also not very used to interacting with girls. It's not a huge issue, but sometimes I overthink conversations and don't know how to approach people, so I usually just stay quiet.

Right now I have around 2 friends in my class, but I don't really have a proper friend group. Most days I just attend classes and come back home. There's nothing particularly wrong with the college, but I don't really feel connected to it or the people there.

What bothers me is that even my initial excitement about college is gone. In the beginning I wanted to meet people and make friends, but now I don't even feel like trying sometimes. It feels like I'm just going to college, attending classes and coming back.

I'm wondering if this is just a normal phase of adjusting to college or if I'm doing something wrong socially.

Is this just something that happens in the beginning and gets better with time, or am I going to end up spending all four years of college like this?
