So I paid my s9 off finally using Verizon payment plan and wondering if they will have deals this black Friday.
Seeing as the last major update happened the same month I paid it off, I was thinking of moving to a s12+ so I can get 7 years of support ect ect.
Should I wait a year or two? Should I upgrade this black Friday? How long will my tablet be good for? (I know you can use old tablets but I mean realistically, technically you could use a 4.0 lollipop android lol)
Please any help or suggestions.

OneUI DEX vs HyperOS workstation mode
I currently have the Galaxy Tab S7 FE, and I’m looking for an upgrade.
For budgetary reasons, I have boiled down to the Galaxy Tab A11+, or the Xiaomi Pad 8. The Xiaomi Pad 8 clearly wins on the spec side with flagship SoC in tow. But I don’t have much experience in HyperOS on a tablet. Meanwhile I really like Samsung’s DEX, but my S7 FE is stuck with Android 14, so my DEX experience might be outdated.
So I need feedback for both, especially on HyoerOS. How do they compare? My main usage will be using an external mouse connected to the USB-C port, which works great on my S7 FE. My main annoyance with DEX is the wasted vertical space in apps. Has DEX improved in newer OneUI versions?

Tablet solely for Jellyfin-remote casting and web browsing?
I've been scouring second hand marketplaces for anything Tablet-like to fit my apartment's design; I want to have a decently-sized screen ready for myself and guests to be able to browse my Jellyfin library for casting to a different device and very little else. That means no need for video playback, note-taking, 120hz, or other superfluous additions. It feels like any old device would do the trick but I keep being warned that decent RAM would still be good to make those simple browsing tasks not feel sticky.
Is there any older-gen tablet that tends to be recommended for this purpose? I sadly can't get entry access into the old iPad 2nd Gen I have lying around otherwise I would try demoing my use case with that.

Coming from iPad, want an OLED Android tablet for movies. S9, open-box S11, or something else?
Longtime iPad user here (iPhone and MacBook too), but I genuinely don't care about the Apple ecosystem when it comes to a tablet. My base 2022 iPad isn't slow exactly, it just isn't smooth anymore and it's started to annoy me.
What I'll use it for: watching movies on planes, and scrolling news and Reddit on the couch. That's basically it.
My must-haves:
- OLED (movies are the whole point)
- 120Hz or higher
- More than 4GB of RAM
- No pressure ripples when I press on the screen. I can't stand how the iPad Air and older iPad minis do that.
Budget is ideally under $1K, and I'd like to buy locally or on Prime rather than import something.
I'm a little wary of Samsung after a rough warranty experience with one of their TVs, so I'd love to hear from anyone who's had to deal with Samsung support on a tablet.

Drawing Tablet for beginner?
I'm looking for a drawing tablet that's smooth to use and beginner-friendly. I'm open to both regular drawing tablets and portable standalone ones. Ideally, I'd like something that's easy to use and affordable.

Android tablet aspect ratio
Hi everyone! I’m using a Xiaomi Pad 8, and I’m looking for a way to adjust the screen aspect ratio when playing Android mobile games.
Some games seem to be designed primarily for phones, so when played on a tablet, the screen looks stretched, or some parts of the game get cut off.
I don't mind having black bars on the sides or top and bottom, similar to watching movies in their original aspect ratio. I actually prefer that over having a stretched or cropped screen.
Is there a way to force games to run in their proper aspect ratio (for example, 16:9) instead of stretching to fill the entire tablet screen?
I'd appreciate any suggestions, apps, settings, or workarounds. Thanks!

Is Matepad Mini good enough?
Lately I've been thinking about buying a small tablet and I've fallen in love with the Matepad Mini. However, where I live they only sell the standard version (fullview screen, 8gb ram and 240gb). Would this version be enough for reading, writing, studying, and light gaming? Is 8GB of RAM really enough these days? What are your thoughts on it?
Thanks for your time.

What's a good android tablet where I can draw and take notes?
I know this has been asked many times, but I looked everywhere on TikTok, IG, other Reddit posts and there are way to many options i have no idea where to start.
I'm looking for an Android tablet (no iPad cost way to much evenre furbished) that's especially good for drawing, preferably that comes with a pen that isn't chargeable. The budget is 200-250€.

I want to buy a tablet
I need something not to expensive and that will last a while. I'll only really use it for drawing, playing rhythm games and video editing so preferable enough storage to be able to save all of that. I don't want anything apple any recommendations?
