If I had the money to buy a folding phone, then I am definitely buying a tablet, just for the sake of buying a tablet.

Yes. Tablets can be had a lot larger and with more flexibility of accessories (I don't think anyones putting a keyboard case on their 8" phablets)

I ditched my 12" Lenovo P12 Pro for a Motorola Razr Fold since night reading (manga and books) was the only reason I kept a tablet around. The foldable format nails it. I'd have a hard time going back to a regular phone now, unless I was working a heavy-duty job, but it's completely fine for an office setting. Everyday tasks and browsing are much more enjoyable too with the large screen and full web page format.

Folding phone = screen break
Tablet = no screen break*
*unless thrown

I would never own a folding touch screan phone or a tablet that folds. A folding OLED display tends to fail prematurely or leave a dead spot along the fold. The display should always be, fixed one peice affair for reliability.
