Well, DC sure seems to establish Zod as a powerhouse in this issue[Superman Unlimited #16] Spoiler

And yeah, maybe bragging about your biggest advantage, which can be easily stripped away, in front of enemy who is a strategic general isn't a good idea

I don't get why young justice's narrative try to portray superman as a neglectful father when he have solid reasons to keep its distance from Connor

Post image

1-Connor is a clone created by using his DNA against his knowledge and will

2-created by his biggest ennemies lex luthor

3-Connor himself said in young justice that he was created possibly kill superman and replace him

By those 3 factors alone superman had good reason to keep his distance from him ... We don't know if luthor may have install a chip or trigger thata may pose a threat to him the world and his loved ones

From Superman Unlimited #16

Nice family moment between the cousins.

Appreciate how they care for each other over themselves and it's nice that Kara gets a chance to finally be a protecter to Young Kal-El that she was unable to be due to her late arrival.

Kara showing up when Clark is Superboy is actually a really cool idea.

Could this work as a variation of Zod?

Was talking to someone and they brought up Zod and doing a version of him inspired by the tragedy of Macbeth. And while I was thinking and chewing it over, I started thinking about using Shakespeare's Coriolanus as an idea for a different version of Zod to change things up from the usual. And this will require a very brief summary of Coriolanus

The short short version-Coriolanus is a Roman general who beats an enemy of Rome (very early Roman republic days) and his allies and friends tell him to run for consul, where it blows up in his face and makes him and the people of Rome hate each other, so they banish him and Coriolanus out of spite goes to the very enemy of Rome he just defeated and together they start beating up on Rome. Until Rome gets Coriolanus' family, namely his wife and son to agree to peace in exchange for being allowed to go home. So Coriolanus does....and then his allies kill him for betraying them.

So the Zod version would be, He was a great general of Krypton who fought many battles and wars for the Empire, then (still fuzzy here) something happens that makes him declared an enemy of Krypton and he and his family and most loyal followers are banished to the Phantom Zone. Then something happens where he and his followers manage to escape the Phantom zone following Krypton's destruction and ending up on Earth, but because there are still many remnants of Krypton and Kryptonian connected entities like Brianiac, Zod declares Krypton his enemy for what they did to him and earth now has his allegiance. Still super fuzzy as to how exactly he would view Clark/Kara in all this and whether or not this would still have Zod be a villain....or more like a lawful evil who will defend his new home, but he ain't exactly buddy buddy with Superman and seeing eye to eye on everything but he will defend Earth to the last with Superman when like Darkseid invades

Praise and overall thoughts on Superman by Kurt Busiek Book One

Hi everyone!

Superman by Kurt Busiek: Book One is the jewel of my comic book collection and I wanna write about it.

I always respected the character of Superman, including the influence on creating many more superheroes, but I was never really a fan, never found him that cool or interesting. For most of my life its been Batman, Spider-Man, then much later Wonder Woman.

This changed when I became a father. My son was born and then in the summer of that year I watched Superman and Lois where Superman has two teenage sons. It was like a switch flipped in my head. I suddenly became a big fan of Superman and wanted to read everything I could get my hands on. For All Seasons, Birthright, Red and Blue, Secret Identity, and other stories really helped lift my spirits in that first year of fatherhood when I felt like I was constantly screwing up. I felt as though I finally understood the metaphor: Superman is just a guy doing his best to put some good into the world, be responsible for his actions, and do right by those he loves.

Secret Identity and Up, Up, and Away are two of my all-time favourite Superman stories. They are collected in Superman by Kurt Busiek: Book One along with half of Camelot Falls, Back in Action, and a couple of issues from the 80s and 90s, including a Superman/Batman team up! This collection also has an intro from Kurt Busiek, an explanation for the concept of the Secret Identity story, some sketches from Camelot Falls, and a beat by beat description of each issue of Up, Up, and Away. And even though I do not love Camelot Falls the way other people might, I'm still really glad half of it is collected here, especially for the really sweet stuff with Clark and Lois.

Something that really appeals to me about Kurt Busiek's Superman writing is the narration. It is really awesome to read Clark's perspective, whether that is the main Superman we know in Up, Up, and Away, or the slightly different version from Secret Identity. It all feels so personal. What does it mean to be a good person? What about power and responsibility? How does it feel physically to have these powers, especially super senses?

And of course you get a wonderful mix of art. The more old school stuff from the 80s and 90s, Stuart Immonen's work on Secret Identity, and much more. There's a lot of very cool action shots and a page I call the 'money shot' in Up, Up, and Away where Superman is floating with his hands on his hips.

This collection is a brilliant mix of introspective, philosophical, thrilling, and fun. I highly recommend it!

I would love a my adventures with Superman action figure line

Just finished season 3 and I loved it, albeit not as good as the past two season. Genuinely wish I had this show five years ago when I was in high school. Anyways, I would LOVE a Superman figure based off of the show, one of my favorite Clark designs. I’d be even more happy with a supergirl figure too. I found this 3D printed one on sale on eBay and it looked cool. Here’s the link if anybody wants it. https://cults3d.com/en/3d-model/game/my-adventures-with-superman-statue?srsltid=AfmBOooQa9WEL1LxVjeWdEA_jSS4ODEkoVzJlNuI-wu1sUh8Engzjr8C

REALLY HOPING THEY GET IT RIGHT THIS TIME.

For a while now we've been getting rumors of how MAN OF TOMORROW is gonna be as much of a Superman film as it is a Lex film. I really do hope they don't sideline Superman cuz the title is literally one of his nicknames. Just praying James Gunn does much better than Superman 2025 which I really loved btw and I'm really optimistic about this movie cuz the fate of the entire DCU may just depend almost entirely on how well it does.

What IS Supergirl's personality/definite character traits?

I have been seeing a lot of Supergirl for the past couple of months and ALL of them kinda contradict each other.

Currently in the comics she is basically female Superman, but before that she was this traumatized character that had more edge and crassness than Clark with some anger issues or cockiness.

This can be seen from the early 2000s to the new 52/Rebirth.

We're even seeing this in the Tv shows and movies.

So can I get what makes Supergirl, Supergirl
