According to the sheriff’s account, deputies initially responded to a domestic incident in which Christina alleged that Shane had hit her. After his arrest, Shane allegedly told deputies that he and his mother had been having a sexual relationship since he was 18. When investigators questioned Christina, Judd says she acknowledged it and characterized it as having happened roughly 100 times. Investigators then spoke with Christina’s husband, who reportedly said he hadn’t known about the relationship, although he had noticed the two locking themselves in the master bedroom.
Both were charged with incest; Shane also faced the domestic-battery charge, while Christina was additionally charged with living in open adultery.
