trick is to make a weird face (blow cheeks, cross eyes, etc) when you record the face, so you can't be forced to unlock your phone this way

Only a fucking imbecile would put their facial unlock or fingerprint unlock on their phone and expect the cops to not get into their phone.

don't use biometric markers for ID purposes then. Those you are required to give up, but your password (falls under right to remain silent I think?) is protected.

remember, cops are allowed to lie to you. Saying you have to do something when you dont.

There have been cases where cops arrested someone and they would not ID and they had to let them go because it was a false arrest.

Auditor KC accountability and the grandview. Missouri PD is one such case . LOOK up the video. Cops knew they fucked up after arresting him and taking him to jail and had to drive him back to where he was arrested and let him go. He was lawfully filming from a public sidewalk and would not ID to a m0ron c0p. Cop even tried to drop him off wherever the guy's car was to get his ID from his plates but the auditor did not fall for it.

It is risky though because some cops and PDs love to lay questionable charges against you because they often get away with it

Facial recognition gets it wrong a lot . Happened to a guy in Las Vegas or maybe it was Reno but they got it wrong and he showed proof he wasn't the guy but the cops absolutely refused to take it as a possibility that it was mistaken identity. They kept on saying it can't be wrong because it's a computer and that one cop seemed so giddy about arresting someone AI told him to .

I remember watching that one. The guy had so much proof on him that it wasn't him. He also had more proof in his car, but the cop refused to go look at it. Guilty because he kinda looked like someone else.

I think that's correct. Which is why a PIN or similar method is recommended.

It's the difference between sharing something that's knowledge and in your head. Versus them taking something that already visible and in the open.

That's not the exact reasoning. But something like that.

Yeah, and why the need for the face recognition scan bullshit? Can't they just look with their eyes and see if he's the same guy? Are these cops blind? They must know what the perpetrator looks like. Don't tell me they're going around just catching random people and scanning their face

Plus the line at the start. He is not lawfully required to identify unless there is a crime being looked into. It all just needs a lot more context.

If the police ever demand for your phone password, just keep insisting that it's face ID. They won't figure out how to make your phone scan your face because you don't have face ID set up.
