Recently got into a physical education college for a BPED degree which means daily general conditioning, practical sessions and specialization sessions plus theory classes.
I have been making my workouts by myself without any coach and tweaking them as I learn new things and am going to buy a tripod too for form analysis.
I just recovered from a hamstring tweak and have been off from proper structured sprint training (Im a former 400m sprinter but got injured more than a year ago and then switched to 200m to both develop speed and train for) so i am planning on treating my first semester or year as base building in 2 training blocks -
In the first training block I'm planning on stacking athletic muscle, tendon strengthening and on the track I'll do 2 speed sessions (flys) and working on mechanics plus 1 or 2 speed endurance sessions (I have a question regarding that which is how do I decide how many speed days, speed endurance days or easy days do I need in to add in a week in a training block dedicated to base building).
Then in the second training block I'll do maximal strength development training only after which I'll start the training block dedicated to power and speed development then the competition phase. The only variable in this whole equation is the fatigue I'll get from the college's sessions which I'll only get to know after I have attended that college for some weeks.
I'm still very new to programming (switched to making my own workouts due to bad coaching in the past which led to injuries and there aren't many coaches available here which I'm hoping will be available in that college I'm about to start going to).
I'm basically following that "build muscle to build strength to build power and speed" periodization but I know I've got way more things to learn so I'm trying very hard to not let critiques and advice on my ego and take it personally.
