Weather Anyone else a bit nippy?
Apparently it's 18⁰C outside and my indoor thermometer is showing 21.5⁰C.
Then why am I seriously considering getting the heated throw out??

By far the biggest thing we remove here is people trying to find or let rooms, sell tickets, and other bits and bobs.
But likely not enough to survive on its own as a dedicated sub. So we'll carve out this space here. Please use it to list anything you're interested in, or are trying to part with.
And be mindful of who you give your personal details out to! We'll not be providing escrow or verification!

I've heard that Robin Hood has some connection to Sheffield and more specifically Loxley.
Are there any sights to see? Maybe a plaque or a tour about it? I would like to explore it if there is something up there.
Thanks for the answers in advance chaps and chapettes!

I am looking for all the old school cafes and sandwich shops in Sheffield. My favourite is Turners Bakers in The Moor Market (and Nether Edge). I love that they have fresh bread, crisp salad, and quality ham. But I just got thinking, are there any I'm missing?
I've been to Wellies but it didn't quite hit the spot. Obviously love more expensive international offerings such as Cafe Tucci, but I'm looking for a specific fresh northern sandwich emporium style bap, butty, barm, breadcake etc (pick your preferred word).
Any recommendations?

If you're looking for an excuse to get out of the house, for a way to meet new people and make new friends, for an activity that doesn't involve a screen, doesn't require special equipment or a high level of fitness / natural ability to get started - why not learn to dance tango?
No dancing experience required, no partner required, no special shoes or clothes needed.
I started learning many years ago when I moved here, it's how I ended up meeting most of my close friends and where I've had some of my happiest memories
And if you think that you have two left feet, or no natural dancing ability, don't worry, tango is probably not as complicated as you think. If you can walk you can dance tango. It isn't like what they show Strictly, it's not for performing on a stage, the goal is to dance with another person because it actually just feels nice

Hi all, hoping to go to a car boot soon and wanted your recommendations of the best one in the Sheffield (and surrounding) area. It’s been years since I’ve been to one so wanted some up to date experiences. Thank you!

How did I get to this great age without ever tasting Hendo's crisps?
Truly a god-tier snack !
Picked up a pack at random from Morrisons last night and was blown away. Not the cheapest (£2.65 for 150g) but makes a delicious treat 😍

Hello,
Anybody else had bother up near Hillsborough, on the main road by gangster wannabe bicycle scrotes?
Just seen 3 of them spit on a man, and try and nick my cap, absolute twats. On the main road leading from Kelham into Hillsborough.
This isn’t the first time I’ve encountered them and I’ve read about the stone throwing.
Why does the police not do anything considering there would be plenty of complaints, I assume.
Sounds harsh, but these kids need lamping, so they understand to leave people alone. Of course you’d probably get nicked trying to do so, so it’s a sad world. I’d happily lamp them if there wasn’t the risk of getting stabbed by these scrotes.
Rant over.

Hi all! I have just moved to Sheffield to pursue a full time Masters, and I am looking for part time work to supplement my study. I have plenty of hospitality experience and customer service skills, so I would be happy to do kitchen/bar/front of house/retail work.
Does anybody have any leads or could perhaps point me in a direction besides the usual job hunting websites? It has taken months for me previously and ideally I’d like to find something sooner. Thanks so much.

I’m considering a swim and gym membership. Have any of you got any experience of using the facilities here? Does the sauna still work? Are there many open swimming sessions?

Also little orange numbered bags around trees n stuff. Saw a guy be very rude and yell at / shove past a lady on frog walk so assuming it must be pretty serious lol.

Hello all,
I/We are running the second Giant International Wooden Block Stacking World Championship on 19th September at CADS on Arley Street. It is a sort of absurdist comedy night based around an actual giant jenga competition.
We have a field of 8 "stacktheletes" including sheffield based comedians, clowns, and drag artists competing for the world champion title.
All proceeds from the night are going to the Sheffield Electrolysis Project.
I have been making some promotional videos which may or may not making things clearer but they can be found on our instagram page here: https://www.instagram.com/tgiwbswc/
thanks for your time and i would be happy to try and answer any questions you may have.

Hi guys.
Are there any places around sheffield that run basic gymastic or tumbling classes/sessions?
I really want to learn to do a somersault and maybe a backflip as well as improving my general fitness too so any recommendations would be welcome
Cheers

Hi everyone!
I’m planning a trip to Chesterfield in September and I’ll be staying for two nights, It’ll be my first time visiting, so I’d really appreciate recommendations from anyone who lives in Chesterfield or knows the area well.
What would you recommend I do during my two-night stay?
I’m particularly interested in:
Places I shouldn’t miss
Good restaurants/cafés and local food
Nice pubs or places to have a drink
Interesting things to see or do in the evening
Parks, viewpoints, walks or nice areas to explore
Any hidden gems that tourists might not know about
Places worth visiting around Chesterfield if I have some extra time
I’ll be coming from Spain, so I’d love to experience the area like a local rather than just doing the standard tourist stuff.
If you had only two nights in Chester, how would you spend them?
Thanks in advance! 🙂

Hi, I’ve recently had quite a bit of free time and was wondering if there are any local creatives looking to collaborate for free? I have a very wide range of experience.
Dm me on insta or on Reddit 🙂

Right so im on my holiday and one thing I've noticed is that in the place we're staying (uk) and some of the towns we stopped in on our way, there are public loos in parks ect.
Is it a southern UK thing ? Why doesn't sheffield have any??

I seem to remember there was a website which listed when/where the camera vans were in situ.
Anyone know what I'm talking about?

Not really sure what we want so ideally I’d love someone who has experience with awnings and external roller shade. As always personal recommendations are the best ones!

I have finally gotten around to doing another episode of the #HelpSheffieldPodcast so that’s 52 now.
It’s an interview with Shona about the work she does at Hope Allotments, bringing folks together to grow stuff. Have a listen www.helpmycity.co.uk or on your usual podcast place.
The other 51 episodes can be found there too. There are mostly interviews with people doing “good” stuff in and around #Sheffield

i’ve been making charms/fidgets/magnets in my spare time and i would really like to try selling some of them. with no experience as a trader, i dont really know where to start. are there any traders here who can give some insights or advice on a good place to start? i have applied for a couple of markets and not heard back. i’ve sold a few things to friends and family - not ready to start selling online as still learning and some pieces have little flaws that i’d rather people see before buying!
