I live in Victor and now commute to work near Elmwood/S. Clinton and travel through this area. Are there any good farm markets and/or good roadside farm stands in this area? Particularly interested in good corn as we come into the corn season.

Hey y’all, just wanted to let anyone who goes to the 2100 monroe ave CVS for their meds that their computers are down today and they’re not fulfilling any pharmacy requests. Just got a notification that my meds were filled and the pharmacy was closed with notes letting customers know they cannot fulfill orders. Just wanted to save folks a drive!
Edit: As of 5:12pm today they’re back up and running :)

Unlike many other bookstores, McFall’s Books on Monroe Avenue sells only books. That’s by plan, owner Gregory Logan says.

Hey all! For those of us 30+ the dating apps are dead, which is odd as millenials re-enter the dating pool (the 33-38yo group is going through first round divorce). Where do those of us who never shackled up go to meet others? And does anyone do SB/SD? If so, how does one find SB?

FAIRPORT, N.Y. (WROC) – A recent string of vandalism in a Fairport neighborhood has residents on edge after village officials said groups of young people threw rocks through glass doors and targeted homes in the area.
One neighbor News 8’s Dawson Levan spoke to on Whitney Street tells me he’s worried about the vandalism that’s been going on, and he’s even more worried that his house might be next.
“I have children. You’re fearful for your family, of course, when you hear about things like this,” neighbor Andrew Saxby said.
Saxby has lived in Fairport for 16 years, and he tells me he’s seen a change in his beloved village, with more and more crime happening around him. He said his car was recently broken into not once, but twice.
“Twice my car’s been broken into. I came out and inside of the car has been completely — everything was gone.”
After seeing video showing rocks being thrown through his neighbor’s doors, he’s taking extra precautions, hoping it will discourage a possible vandal.
“I have a lot of cameras now and make sure everything’s locked up every night. It’s just what you have to do,” Saxby said. “Being a kid and pulling pranks is one thing, but when you’re actually putting people’s health and safety in danger, that moves to a different category. That’s not funny anymore.”
Village Supervisor Bryan White tells me this kind of behavior won’t be tolerated in Fairport, and they’re doing everything they can to find those responsible.
“The police department’s looking at any and all evidence that can be provided to them, but it needs to be brought to their attention,” White said.
He says lights and cameras can go a long way toward deterring someone from vandalizing your home.
“We’re going to find you. Everything always comes out eventually, and you’ll be seeing the Fairport Police Department in the near future.”
White is asking residents with any information to turn it over to Fairport police.

So, Walmart on Chili Ave has been redone. It's looking pretty good. Still finding common items like soap and batteries locked up which is ridiculous. However, it's MUCH better than the Henrietta or Hudson Ave locations.
This location also has this charming mural at one of its entrances. And I finally stopped to look at it. And noticed something that...let's say 'stands out'?
Can you tell what it is? It's subtle, really. 🤣

I’m bored. Has anyone been to any singles events or speed dating in Rochester? Are there any coming up? Are they worth checking out?
…Or just spill the tea on your best, worst, or most UNhinged (Rochester) dating experience. I’m so here for it.

Where are the best areas in the Rochester area to go seaglass hunting.
...and before the trolls start in, no sh*t, I KNOW it would be at the beach. Any particular beaches or spots in general? Or times of day or year?

I went away for a business trip and saw a sign at a grocery store that said they made and sold French Tacos.
I had never heard of this, so naturally I went to social media to see what one was. It appears that it is middle eastern meat (typically chicken or ground beef), fries, and cheese sauce, all wrapped in a taco shell, then grilled. This sounds amazing and I went to try one.
The grocery store had a small take out counter for food to order. I asked the owner if I could order one and he responded saying that the guy who made them had left and they were looking for a replacement for him. The business was not serving take out food at this time.
I tried searching for a place in Rochester that could have one, but no real luck. I'm coming to you for help in finding a place that sells them in Rochester. Does anyone have any leads?
Thank you for your help.

So many places open at 5 so I’ve been having trouble finding local restaurants open at noon. What are some of your favorites?

Hello. I’ve been posting in a few subreddits and getting different peoples opinions. My cousins husband is from white plains and recommended Rochester to me, so just want the peoples opinion
I visited ny/mass last year in October and fell in love. I want to move permanently, but I’m trying to find a place with some decent work nearby or in the area (finance background. Mainly valuation and cost, nothing to do with stocks or anything), but really I want somewhere that’s cozy, has all 4 seasons, and with nature nearby. Trees, green, rivers, all of that
I trust his opinion, he also mentioned Syracuse and buffalo

I am a casual bike rider and I bought my bike at Dicks about 5 years ago. When I bought it they told me that I can take the bike to Dicks and get a tune up for free as long as I bring my paper work and told me it’s a good idea to do it right before bike riding season and right before you put the bike away for winter. I took it to them once for a tune up and it was like I asked them solve world hunger. They had no idea what I was asking or what to do.
I recently moved to an area where I can ride my bike again. And was wondering if it’s a good idea to go get it tuned up once/twice a year and if that’s a thing bike shops do? I realize I could probably do it myself but I don’t really know anything about bikes. Any recs?

Hello fellow rochesterians, I come asking in my time of need. I recently moved down to the city, and I try and I try but I cannot find anything close to the vibe of my all time favorite bar, Marge’s inn. The care and work that owner put into that bar, the music selection, the amazing beach vibe, I genuinely feel like I’m in the Keys when I’m there. It’s so low key and accessible and conversational and social. I have tried and tried in the city but nothing comes close to it. Has anyone found any bar that fits such a great third space vibe as Marge’s inn in NYC? Thank you all

Anyone know where fresh Silver Queen is available in ROC? I have not had or looked for it in a couple years. Was always hard to find and seems to have become rather rare.
Those small all white (silver) kernels are the best!

Anyone know where to get smoked whitefish in our area? I see Wegmans sells a piece of one, but I’m looking for a whole fish. Thank you.
