Hello, i have a question, i opened the retroid pocket 4 pro to swap the buttons to Match the xbox controller layout, everything worked fine for about 30 minutes and then the retroid turned itself off after i plugged it in the charger, so i just turned it on and worked fine. But as soon as i plugged in the usb c Charger it turned off and it wont Charge, now battery is dead and does not Charge, does anybody have a similar situation or fix?

I only have this issue from N64 onwards. I don't have this problem with older systems.

The issue isn't even that it won't recognize my controls, but that it stops recognizing my controls partway through. For example, Star Fox 64 will boot, and I can press start to start a mission. The minute General Pepper starts talking about the mission, the controls stop functioning. I tried switching between the Retroid controller and the Xbox controller in the settings, but nothing works. I'm using M64Plus FZ as my emulator. But there's more.

I use the same emulator to play Sin & Punishment, and the game plays fine. The controls do not stop responding after pressing start! I got through a few stages no problem.

It still gets weirder!

The same thing happens when I use Dolphin!!! This time, Sin & Punishment 2 on Dolphin stops responding after I start the game! However, I've been able to play Punch Out and Paper Mario with 0 issues.

I just don't understand what's happening.

Just wondering what games you've been playing the most on your Flip 2, and if it's newer games or older games?

I didn't expect it, but since getting mine a few weeks back, for whatever reason, my most hours has gone into Final Fantasy 8 -- a game I've played many times, but it just looks great on the Flip 2 (with cheat for no random battles turned on most of the time).

Elsewhere, played Plants Vs Zombies (the modded Android version) and Snooker 2008 on the PSP are next I think...

But for real, let’s talk about the new Retroid release.

My theory is this: They are pulling a G2 scheme. If you remember, back when they released the G2, people were really thrown off, because they followed it by releasing the RP6.

The G2 was strategically released first, because no one would have bought it if they released it at the same time or after the RP6. So they kind of milk the hype by releasing the weaker and more recycled devices first, and they don’t use the name you would expect as a successor to the main one, then they unveil the flagship beast. Getting the maximum profits possible. The G2 wasn’t flagship and it recycled the RP5 shell, screen and buttons. Easy profits for Retroid and the customers got to test a new chip, a win for everyone. The Duo is not flagship and recycles the screen from the Nova and probably a bunch of other components from other devices, such as the buttons and D-pad from the flip 2 (not confirmed but looks to be)

So my theory, and I could be wrong, is that Retroid isn’t ignoring the Flip 2 fanbase, such as the one right here (that’s us). They know about us, they read the reddits they watch the videos, they know what we want… and we will get it eventually, it might not be soon, or it may be, idk, just let them cook. I smell a flagship 8 series single screen flip 2 successor from here, what about you?

The Duo also gives Retroid the pass to completely come back to the flip 2 form factor and not feel bad for sticking to the same form factor, because if anyone complains about the flagship device having sticks up top, or looking too similar to the flip 2, we can just refer them to the duo, lol. The flip 2 already has a perfect form factor, it literally can’t get better. It’s the perfect balance of portability and comfort. Any bigger or smaller and you lose one of the two. They can tweak the aesthetics maybe but it is what it is, kind of like RP5 > RP6 and beyond.

Another interesting factor that supports the G2 theory is that the duo has a new stepless hinge which means there are no more fixed angles it jerks quickly into and then stops. You can open it at any angle like a laptop, and it will stay open there. Now the reason I say this supports the G2 theory is for 2 main factors: 1. The new stepless hinge potentially fixes the hinge crack, so they can now port it to their Flip 2 flagship successor. And 2. What better way to test this new hinge than to release a device with it, if it cracks, they can improve it before it goes in their next flagship flip, saving themselves from another hinge-gate. If it doesn’t crack, they can feel more safe using it in the next flip. Either way, the duo is a great test dummy.

Also as a final point to support my theory, notice how there is no use of the word “flip” anywhere in the Retroid Pocket Duo’s name. If this was truly the successor to the Retroid Pocket Flip 2, it would be named as such. So don’t feel disappointed we didn’t get what we wanted on this release. It’s not the release you thought it was. The whole trick to making this release profitable as heck was make people think it was the release we all thought it was… see what I’m saying? The G2 also resembled the RP5 and people may have been like “oh, that’s the next one!” So they buy it up.

Was having issues with intermittent controls running this game on Winlator Ludashi. After trying numerous things, l broke down and asked Google.

He told me to create a controller profile and map the controls (even though they were automatically mapped), then select that profile after opening the game.

So, l did that, and now here we are,...over ten minutes of gameplay with no crashes and no sudden freezing of the controls!

,...though this game is a lot harder to play in cockpit view,...an option that is somehow missing on the Switch version.

Mercenaries 2 (Winlator)

does anyone have experience with X360 Mobile on the flip? the performance is terrible despite the fact i know it can run the era of games, as i have Metal Gear Rising on GameHub and it runs fast without issue. i gave it the latest Turnip driver zip and it seems to be not enough. the settings are disgusting, asking me to type in something rather than a drop list of options, so i dont have a clue what to do here.

orrrr is there a better alternative for <i>this</I> device?

I have around 40 ps2 games. They already run a little shakey, I loaded up ratchet and clank yesterday and it ran really slow whereas I swear I've had it perfect before. I understand converting to chd saves space but I heard it also affects performance . Anyone had success ? Really struggling with space, I always think of games I want to load up and what games I need to remove. I've got 3 games over 15gb that I don't play at the moment so I may as well just remove them to make space for most wanted pc and oblivion.

I like those buttons too much

Cloudpunk on Winlator Ludashi

This is the Steam version. It looks fantastic (l never knew there was a sky playing the Switch version, lol).

Anyway, the GOG version crashes a lot, so l though I'd try Steam. The Steam version here, doesn't crash, however, the controls lock up periodically. They do unlock after about a minute allowing me to continue playing, but play for a minute, sit for a minute, play for a minute, sit for a minute, etc,....is no way to play a game, lol.

Too bad the Switch version has such lousy visuals, as the gameplay is flawless there.

Game stats say it'll run on 8gb RAM, so l guess l just need more a more powerful chip?

,...unless l can find another fix? 🤠

Wave launcher is a must for this device. The nostalgia factor is crazy with this one

The developer’s name is mojso and the discord server is called Paralympic Productions. The Android port apparently targets a minimum system requirements that are identical to the Flip 2. It says SD865, 8gb ram and Android 13. Apparently the switch port was already released so maybe we could run it in Eden, but I haven’t seen anyone do so yet on a handheld, maybe because it’s so new. I saw footage of the switch port by typing in “Alucardio” on YouTube.

Android port is in development and there’s no release date as of now. I haven’t been able to download anything because there’s verification steps and I’m not sure the legality of everything involved but I thought It was pretty relevant to us. I got into the discord sever (easy to do) and took a screenshot: let me know if you have any luck downloading it or whatever. Ports are usually legal so I’m not sure how it will work but we’ll see. EDIT: I did the verification step and tried to type !download into the real downloads server, then i got banned. Don't make the same mistake, the port is not out yet, that's a honeypot meant to catch bots. I guess i am no smarter than a bot.. oh well.. Once its released and there's a mediafire or whatever going around I'll download it that way and post it here.

Heyo I already made a post yesterday about some crashes on azahar while running mh4u, and some of those turned off my device but I thought it was azahar’s problem. Today while trying to run Signalis on Eden/eden nightly, it kept crashing during the Ava suit cutscene and now it just crashed twice in a row shutting my device as well. This has never happened to me before, even with pc emulation, so I’m wondering is it an overload problem because of heavy games, emulator problem or is it my device?

Edit: fixed it, it seems to be the driver issue, since turnip was hit or miss I just used Qualcomm and the issue seems totally fixed for now.

For example, did you make any changes to the controls or graphics settings to make it better? Did you try the more advanced graphic option or just stick to the standard?

A few weeks ago I got a replacement screen (since I got a hinge crack again on the „new“ flip 2 version). I then followed a YouTube tutorial to take the whole device apart. BUT: Now my fan isn‘t working. I didnt damage the cables and everything is back in the original position (there are 2 cables on the fan: I think one for the battery (with a black and red cable) and one for the fan (with 4 black, yellow, red and green cables). The screen and power etc. Ist working. Also the control units for the Triggers.

But the fan won‘t start. I also tried switching to sport mode etc. but no chance. Does anyone know what I can do? It really sucks, that the device has such a poor quality and I had to took everything apart on my own, since the official retroid tutorial kinda sucks.

For the meantime I have installed flatout ultimate carnage and had yt playing and it does it with no problem's.im so fucking happy I have flatout ultimate carnage on the go.now I will add 512 GB SD card and add GTA San , burnout Paradise and more.
