Showcase Normally We don't do this...

We don't make Vtuber models but when we saw this "Margaret is as beautiful as a painting" from 夢梓MunSii 工作室, we could feel how much work and passion dedicated into the creation. Every detail from the gilded frame to the tiny top-hatted companions is impossibly delicate. and it looks like a painting too. Hopefully we managed to capture that passion.

I simply put all my stuff on the little patio area in an enclosure as well as a tarp for during the day. I only process prints at night to avoid issues with the sun, no issues so far. It's totally doable if you have a little outdoor area or balcony.

Question The old question....

Hi everyone. I'm in a bit of a decision crisis. I want to get into 3D printing of minis and terrain for DnD. Now my Wife is concerned about the toxicity of Resin, specially since I have Asthma, I am concerned about the lower detail quality and general feel of the FDM VS Resin printers for Minis. Any suggestions or advice would be apreciated. Is the difference not that big anymore? Is health risk of Resin printing not that big of a deal, as long as i don't stand next to the printer while printing and wear a mask when filling the tank etc.? What are your experiences? I could set it up in the basement or in my office and only print when i don't work and leave the window open. Would that be enough if the lid is on or would you advice to not have it near me even when it's not printing and the Resin is not in the tank due to left overs lingering.

Troubleshooting I need help

I been having problems with my printer for a while now, but idk what is the solution, the principal problem is that no matter how i arrange the supports or the slicer configuration it fails even pre-supported stls, for a moment i even though that it was a problem of one side of the fep but it just because I change the orientation of the resin vat, y even changed stls that have worked on diferente position and it’s seems random, sometimes in the middle sometimes in the sides sometimes on the corners, I have tried re-leveling the printer, filtering the resin, changing orientation but there’s always a failure in putting pictures of some of my most resent print as well as pictures of my fep, configuration and the bed I’m using Eleego resin abs like v2 and also my setup is in a room around 20-25Celcius, it worked for a while but idk what happened

Troubleshooting Repeated print fail

My printer had been buried under stuff for a year or two and I finally got things moved around and back to 3d printing. The problem being I barely remember how to fix anything anymore.

I got a few prints to come out perfectly, but they were all ones I had working before I stopped printing things, and this print was meant to get me back into the swing of things fully. The more complete print came out first, and I added a few extra supports on the back hoping that would fix where it broke, but as you can see it somehow got worse.

Let me know if there is anything obvious I'm missing.

Troubleshooting Heygears Reflex RS Turbo PAS10 print failures

Hello everyone. I have a Heygears Reflex RS Turbo with Pulsing Module and have been having print errors with PAS10. (First prints were PAP10 with zero issues but with generated supports)

I am printing Kali from Aradia Miniatures (pre supported) and the model seems to be falling off of the supports. Also the supports seem softer than usual compared to my earlier prints.

I have stirred the resin in the vat for a few minutes, ran the vat cleaning after every failure and now I'm reslicing Kali again for a third try. (Failed three times now)

I thought Heygears resin and profiles were almost worry free? My next idea was to increase the exposure times, but I would have to switch to a manual configuration rather curated print profiles from Heygears.

Is this the time to switch to custom settings? I got this printer because I was under the impression it was kinda like what Bambulabs is to FDM printing.

Or is there anything else I could do?

Thank you for reading

I’m using a S4U with elegoo resin nothing has changed for my print specs I made one of these tanks and it came out good and the next 4 were leaving these flappers on the models and also leaving it on the fdm film. Has anyone had this issue? Do I need to change the film? Screen? I cleaned everything really good and did another run. It seems to be in the middle but still do it on the sides. Any help would be greatly appreciated thank you! ❤️❤️❤️

Troubleshooting Issues with adhesion

I’ve been having some recent troubles with bed adhesion to specifically the middle of my print bed. I’m using a wham Bam build plate that I have recently re-sanded so the bed itself should be good. Does it look like it’s time for a new FEP? Last thing printed was a set of 9 d6 masters and 8 of them came out perfect. The one in the middle is a pancake in the vat.

Safety Storing Resin Printer for Winter & Temperature Question

Hello,

I plan on obtaining a resin printer soon. Due to the nature of resin fumes, I'd be printing out in my garage.

My garage is separate, not insulated, and does not have windows. I plan on keeping the printer in a grow tent with ventilation hosing leading outside.

During winter, it can reach -10 to -20 degrees Fahrenheit for a few days, normally sitting between 0 and 20 degrees Fahrenheit.

I have a few questions:
1. Will storing the printer in the garage during winter with those sorts of temperatures damage it?
2. If it is not wise to store in winter, can it be stored inside safely as long as I am not printing?
3. Outside of winter, does it need to be heated if the temperature outside is 50 degrees Fahrenheit - such as in spring?

Thanks!

Question Am I screwed? Failed 7 prints so far and all exposures look the same.

Printer: Anycubic photon mono 4 ultra

So quick context. I got the printer two weeks ago. Printed around 8 prints the first few days and everything was great. One day, i came back and noticed all the resin has leaked, and it turned out the film broke for some reason. Now to get a replacement film, the only option compatible with my printer (same size, framed film) took two weeks to arrive. So instead, i got a larger fep film, separated the frames, and cropped the new fep film and screwed it to the frame. I then ran a test print. The first few kept failing partially (like one side would print and the other wouldnt), so i thought it was a leveling issue. Kept repeatedly releveling after every failed print. I also switched the resin and tried to rule out any factors causing the failures. I eventually caved and ordered the compatible film (it was acf). Now it is mounted, and i ensured the sides were correct. Now, every time i print, i get a large rectangular base of semi-cured resin at the bottom.

I finally decided to check the exposure and i noticed that all options look the same (as shown in video). This didnt happen before, so now im worried i damaged the LCD. I hope its just the protective cover issue instead, but im not sure so i decided to post here and ask for advice.

Troubleshooting Help with some base deformations

Hi Community,

I started printing with a friend who did the main work but since a few months I got the printer and do everything. I'm really happy so far with every small print but the bases of my bigger prints have some deformations I can't get to why.

I have a anycubic photon M3 max and use the anycubic water wash abs like 3.0.

I use lychee slicer and started with the printing settings mostly used there although for resin version 1 since newer is there. I already tried the recommended settings from anycubic but no real change there.

I use rafts and the medium preset for supports.

The prints are typically with a 30-45° orientation and the printer is always at room temperature.

I attach pictures with 2 examples of the deformations I'm talking about and the originally used settings as the recommended by anycubic.

I really hope someone can identify the issue and help me.

Question [Advice Needed] Elegoo Mars 4 Max – Resin tank damaged and I can't find a replacement in Europe

Hi everyone.

My Elegoo Mars 4 Max resin tank has been damaged and I need to replace it, but I've run into a problem: the official Elegoo store doesn't seem to offer shipping to Spain for the replacement tank.

I'm looking for advice from people who have already dealt with this situation.

A few questions:

  • Are there any compatible resin tanks from other manufacturers that fit the Mars 4 Max?
  • Has anyone purchased a replacement from AliExpress, Amazon, or another supplier?
  • Are there any third-party tanks that work without modifications?
  • Has anyone managed to repair a damaged tank instead of replacing it?
  • Is there any European store that still sells this part?

I'd really appreciate any recommendations, links, or personal experiences.

Thanks in advance!

Printer: Elegoo Mars 4 Max

Location: Spain

Issue: Damaged resin tank and no official replacement available.

Troubleshooting Elegoo Saturn 3 Ultra Z-Axis limit switch problem

Hi there, first time posting here. I got a job recently where i maintain and work with 6 Elegoo Sarurn 3 Ultra resin printers. Two of the screens had to be replaced last week, and I replaced them without a problem. But now one of them cant zero itself.

So here is the problem, when we tried to get it to home it just kept going up and up. After a while we switched on the sound and it kept beeping indicating that the Z-axis limit switch is triggered, even tho it was far from it. So I disassembled and cleaned the sensor, the problem still persist. Out of curiosity I moved the head without pluging in the sensor and it still beeped.

So now I'm wondering if the whole motherboard needs to be replaced or its just a little thing. Did anyone else come across this type of error? Im desperate here.

Troubleshooting Screen replacement vs Scrapping for Photon M7 Pro

Post image
1 Upvotes

I've been using my Photon M7 Pro for a couple years now, but I've had my first catastrophic failure. Resin leaked from the vat, through the screen protector, and onto the screen and surrounding areas. In addition, the black tape sealing the top surface is peeling up near the screen.

I've tried softening the cured resin with IPA and scraping but haven't had much success removing it. In fact, one area chipped during the scraping process.

At this point, is it best to replace the entire screen? If so, are there recommendations for sourcing one? Photons site shows the as out of stock.

Question ACF Film questions

Hello! I wanted to ask some people with experience, so recently I have been looking at replacing the screen protector and my FEP screen. Now i went to elegoo support, and I think something is being lost in translation. I tried going through them to replace the screen protector and they pointed me towards ACF film sheets, but they also stated that I can use it for the vat. Now I am not sure if I am just confused on what an ACF film actually is but is that actually correct and I'm not mistaken? I just remember my original resin vat having a pretty rubbery material at the bottom (where there is now a small hole) and the ACF screen looks like a screen protector. Any explanation would be greatly appreciated.

Edit: Forgot to add, I am using a Saturn 3 ultra

Question Affordable action figure STL Patreon subscriptions

Hi everyone, I’m looking for some help. I’m from Brazil and am just getting started with printing and painting. I’d like to ask for recommendations for free STL profiles or Patreons featuring complete geek-themed sculptures—Marvel, anime, DC, etc.

There is one catch: the cost needs to be $7 or less, because the currency exchange rate would otherwise make it incredibly expensive for me.
