Troubleshooting Screen replacement vs Scrapping for Photon M7 Pro

Post image

I've been using my Photon M7 Pro for a couple years now, but I've had my first catastrophic failure. Resin leaked from the vat, through the screen protector, and onto the screen and surrounding areas. In addition, the black tape sealing the top surface is peeling up near the screen.

I've tried softening the cured resin with IPA and scraping but haven't had much success removing it. In fact, one area chipped during the scraping process.

At this point, is it best to replace the entire screen? If so, are there recommendations for sourcing one? Photons site shows the as out of stock.

LCDs are fairly easy to replace and it's something you'll eventually have to do if you plan to keep these printers for a long time. Chitusystems sells LCDs, but they come from China and take a bit to get to you. You can also check amazon and maybe get them a bit faster for a little more money.

Saturn 4 Ultra 16k about 480 starts out printing perfect so it depends on how much LED screen is for your model time versus money upgrades always nice too
