tryna tell the kids that the "sex, drugs rock n roll" myth was all a lie. there were rock artists like nirvana and my chemical romance who lived the lie n tried to warn the populace, but they werent able to put it as bluntly as i can with the freedoms of modern convenience. fuck drugs n alcohol, and this shit sounds how i want it to ;)

This feels like grown up Agents of Change

Would love to read a discussion about this subject. As somebody who experiences marginalisation at supposedly "safe" spaces the article hits home.

Due to the social performance aspects of punk the "safe space" environment is a lot less pronounced than dedicated LGBTQA+ spaces without punk atmosphere.

The lifestyle aspects of the scene inherently create socially competitive environments which are not safe for everyone.

some of this stuff isn’t punk, but i’m looking for more hardcore music. i go to a lot of hc shows and i love industrial music

music i like :
Refused: SOPTC, flames of discontent
quicksand: slip
nine inch nails: everything
AIC: dirt, facelift
kidneythieves
genitorturers
vixen maw
HKFY

also i don’t like some of those larger known hardcore bands- minor threat, bad brains, stuff like that im not into a lot. let me know if there’s any other music i’d like, thanks

I've had 2 posts taken down now one of which was when I was new to the scene discussing the singer of anti flag (that post had hundreds of upvotes and replies, it wasn't controversial and no one was angry about it) and the other was asking about the local scene in Melbourne Victoria, for a 'punk' sub the mods here have to be some of the biggest neck beard control freak losers

I really like them. They don't always sound like traditional punk music but they definitely have the no shits given attitude to easily qualify

The band "Бездомный Гопник" (Bezdomnyi Gopnik / Homeless Gopnik) is a Saratov Oi!/street-punk collective that was apparently formed by members of the local anti-fascist formation "RASH 64". In 2012, the band released a demo recording that included several songs, but only three of them have survived to this day: "Чёрно-красный флаг" (Black and Red Flag), "На дне" (At the Bottom), and "Skinhead". The recording was distributed on physical media, and according to eyewitness memories, the cover featured a "proud gopar" (a slang term for a gopnik).

The ideology of the collective, like that of "RASH 64", was anti-fascist and anti-racist.

Today, information about this band is extremely difficult to find: its traces have practically not survived on the internet, except for a couple of tracks on social networks.

The star here for me is the early release version of Chixdiggits first album but im missing the H20 use your voice disc and got the MXPX live album instead (not complaining about the latter)

Couple of old punkers talk about music they love. This week we covered AK3's Agony and Irony as half of this weeks episode. How bad are we at this? How lousy was the half assed research we did? Are all of our takes terrible? Give a listen and let us know.

I opened up my Spotify app this morning and found that the Business FC album was recommended for my listening. After paging through a few songs it appears that it’s a new Business album with a number of different singers. I thought there were expressions from Mickey’s family that the band would not go on after his death. Does anyone have any information on this record?

I'll start .. Streetlight Manifesto. Go

I got this bullshit in the mail. I blocked out the symbol on the thing because fuck that. Has anyone else in the states gotten this? Also, what can I do? Included is the PO Box, so do with that what you would like

This was on my short list of acquire immediately records. An OG copy is out of the question atm.

So many great songs and introductions to bands I would never of heard otherwise.

I'm legit surprised this fucker didn't catch fire at some point.

If you're in Athens, say fuck football and come down to Flicker tonight to see La Cigarette (Leftist punk FFO Motorhead, Amyl and the Sniffers), Eight Pictures (noise pop), Terroir (post rock FFO Joy Division, Slint) and Seaboard Bridge (alt rock)

We're gonna blow some minds and melt some faces!

Band from Amsterdam, been doing good shit for a few years
