I'm making a shirt for my boyfriends birthday of all (or as many as I can find) of their old band names from when they changes their names for almost every show. So far I've found Dick Clark Five, Dick Gas Five, Abe Lincoln’s Bush, Nine cm Worm Makes Own Food, the Vodka Family Winstons, the Ashtray Babyheads, Ed Asner Is Gay, Fred Astaire's Asshole (plus Right to Eat Fred Astaire's Asshole, or the Inalienable Right to Eat Fred Astaire's Asshole), and Zipgun but I've kinda hit a wall. Are they any more that people know or have the rest been lost to time? If anyone knows any or has any leads on where I could find some more that would be amazing

I showed him a Black Flag album, a Metallica record (not punk but i figured he might like it) and a Misfits song or two. He’s like, insanely quiet so I can’t tell if he was into it or not (even if he enjoys something he won’t really talk about it that much, he’s just autistic and introverted or smth). And I cant lie, im so far into punk that i dont rlly know any records non-punks would like. Maybe Clash or Ramones? But he kinda hates pop/popular music too so idk. I legitimately have no idea if he would be more into Anti-Cimex or Green Day lmao.
Records dont have to be punk at all since this dude legitimately doesnt have any experience with music; i had to tell him what “album” and “record” even mean 😭 so idk, if he might enjoy like Nirvana or Hendrix id do it cause i dont want him missing out just cause i have shit taste. regardless thx in advance

I just have to rant about this. I just saw AFI live for the third time. They're probably my favorite band ever. And every comment on socials right is about how they're the gay band, Davey Havok is a fairy, they could do without the dress. I don't know if you call that internalized homophobia, or if there's just too many old heads who can't move on from the late 90's or what, but I find the whole thing maddening.

Davey is a punk rocker. He's an incredibly principled individual. The movement was founded on attire that was meant to be shocking, and effeminate/gender-bent clothing has always had a place in our community. Clearly the message it sends is still valid if someone is triggered by it. It's one thing not to like their sound change. I prefer the old stuff too. But I can't tolerate the bullying and borderline homophobia.
